I have more thoughts that I must share. Thank you X-men 97 for not just throwing Madelyne away now that she has been revealed as a clone. She spent at least a year with the X-men. Rogue gives her a big ole hug. Gambit and Magneto greet her warmly. Scott clearly has lingering feelings for her. (And he makes it a point that he and Jean do not have any children because Maddy is Nate's mother).

Maddy is not Jean but it doesn't make her relationships with her family any less real.

That being said, I do feel for Jean and do not hold her words (spoken in anger and hurt) against her. Because it has to suck having identity and memory issues. On top of all that, she feels like she had been replaced and her husband seems to be closer with her imposter than her.

Slightly off topic, I also don't hold it against Logan for being closer to Original Jean as he would know plenty about identity and memory issues.

Now I will defend Scott and Jean to my dying breath over their actions in New X-men. But I'm so glad they changed it in X-men 97.

Instead of Jean trying to have an affair with Logan because she is spiraling and her marriage is crumbling, she is having identity and memory issues and after empathizing with Logan, she impulsively kisses him.

Instead of Scott spiraling and his therapist taking advantage of him, he is dealing with his world being rocked to its' core multiple times his son being taken from him, and is connecting with Madelyn who knows exactly what he is going through.

And as an aside, it is rather uncharitable to describe the incidents as cheating. The Jean/Logan was clearly an impulsive moment that Jean instantly regretted. And Maddy and Scott were in the process of building a life together which didn't go away just because the real Jean appeared and their baby went to the future.

Speaking of Single Pale Rose I can't get over the gag order execution because it makes so little logical sense to me? Even if one argues that Rose didn't trust Pearl to keep the secret... She'd already been doing exactly that for 1000 years? Why did Rose feel like she needed a gag now and not 1000 years ago?? Especially since she'd been fighting for Pearl's autonomy all that time?

It feels like a 'look how bad Rose is' moment for the sake of it, I just don't think they even explained why in any satisfying way amd it feels gratuitous

Funniest part of Puss in Boots is how Puss pissed off literal Death himself so bad by being a cocky little shit that Death decided to say fuck it and cut his life short because he couldn’t stand him anymore. Death was so bothered by this funky little kitty cat mf who always claimed to “laugh in the face of Death” that he went out of his way to terrorize Puss every chance he got. 10/10 movie no notes
