@myhoneststudyblr winter studying challenege
Prompt - When should people start preparing for, decorating and celebrating Christmas?
I start preparing for the winter holidays in October, decorating in mid-to-late November and celebrating as soon as December starts. I say as soon as possible/one feels comfortable! Some people like to wait until like the week of Christmas and others start celebrating in November.

Can we take a second to just internalize how thick my anatomy review files are when the exam is in three days! 😭😭😭
@myhoneststudyblr Winter Studying Challenege
Prompt - How do you stay motivated during winter?
I typically watch people who motivate me, go on tumblr or Pinterest, and watch cozy movies. For whatever reason I find that watching Harry Potter films while under a blanket by the Christmas tree is very motivating for me!

Trying to motivate myself to study for finals while also trying to think of video ideas for my YouTube channel.
@myhoneststudyblr Winter Studying Challenge
4th December: What is an unpopular opinion that you have about winter?
I absolutely love snow so I get very upset when it doesn’t snow. I find that not a lot of people enjoy snow as much as I do, so I would say my unpopular opinion is that winter isn’t complete without a few snowstorms.
5th December: Are you usually busy during winter?
I am busy during the winter, but because I tend to be inside more often than I am during the spring and summer I find that busy for me means a lot of reading, crafting, and cooking or baking.
6th December: Do you get a break from school/uni/work during winter?
I have about a one month break from Uni this winter which I’m really looking forward to, but in the past I have used this break for travel or work. I don’t tend to take a lot of time off from studies or work.

Woke up at 6:30 this morning to prepare for the three exams I had to take. While taking a study break yesterday I mapped out my study schedule for finals. I was a little upset to realize that two of my exams are scheduled on the same day with a 10 minute break in between them. They also happen to be in my two hardest classes 😣. I’m not very confident in the performance I gave on one of my exams today so I’m praying for a decent curve!
@myhoneststudyblr Winter Studying Challenge
Prompt - What is your least favorite thing about winter?
I genuinely believe my least favorite thing about winter is dealing with anxious drivers when it snows.

2 December 2020
I had a late start to today but now realizing how long my to-do list is for the day is making me wish I got out of bed at 7 am. I’m determined to finish my semester strong while juggling the demands of both Chanukah and Christmas this year for my religiously mixed family. This Friday marks the two months my boyfriend and I have been dating and I’m planning a bento picnic for him. He’s never had a bento box lunch so I bought him a bento box from IKEA and I’m currently looking for ideas. One of the first times I really made him something special was the day I made homemade dumplings (pan fried and dumpling soup). Since then we have honestly eaten out a lot more than I have cooked for him, but we do cook together and bake. I’m trying to teach him how to cook and bake as he has little skill in those regards.
@myhoneststudyblr Winter Studying Challenge
Prompt - What is your favorite thing about winter?
My absolute favorite thing about winter is being able to wear cute and warm accessories while going out or staying in. I love the sweaters, scarves, hats, gloves or mittens I have the opportunity to use during the winter. I also love staying in with hot chocolate or a big cup of tea under blankets with a good book by the fireplace. There’s something about winter that feels inherently cozy all the time even when you’re freezing.

1st December 2020
Prompt - Do you like winter?
I honestly love winter, but this year it is a bit too warm for my liking for it being December.
Preparing for finals by reviewing old notes and mapping out a study schedule (not pictured). I can’t believe this semester is nearly over already.

here is my brand new challenge! i’ve known that i was going to do this challenge since i started my summer challenge in july so i am so psyched to be able to finally share it with you guys! i hope that you will enjoy it <3
DISCLAIMER: lots of the prompts in December are to do with Christmas because that is what i celebrate at this time of year. i was very aware of that when i was writing the prompts but i did not think that knew enough about other festivals and holidays at this time to write prompts about them. i did not want any prompts i made to be disrespectful. if you don’t celebrate Christmas, please know that this challenge is still for you! you can either just use the prompts anyway (if they are applicable) or adapt them to fit the festival or holiday that you celebrate. if it is impossible to adapt, then simply tell me about what you celebrate because i am excited to learn about them! [this was edited later because i realised i forgot to add it - thank you to the anon who queried this issue for reminding me <3]
✨ Info ✨

Saturday night Avatar date with my boyfriend using Teleparty! I also worked on creating my 2021 planner and I’m trying to decide if I want to frame this watercolor painting of a plant cell I did for a botany assignment.

Looking for some resources for my lab report that’s due in like 3 hours. Midterms ended the beginning of this week and I still have a lot of work to do! It’s like it never ends. At least it’s Thursday and that means I get to spend the weekend with my boyfriend in a couple of days!!! Also it’s supposed to snow tomorrow and I’m so excited for the first snow fall of the season.

Next week is midterms so I don’t get to see my boyfriend for another two weeks. At least I’m looking forward to our Halloween plans, which include a small Halloween party and scary movies!!
Working on a lab report for my anatomy class today. I wasn’t aware that it was due this week, but I’m glad I double checked my schedule!!
I’m also currently reading this RBG biography in honor of the late Justice Ginsburg. I just started this book but I do highly recommend it!

It may have gone from 50-60 degrees outside up to 80, but I’m still going to watch halloween movie after halloween movie.
Working on outlines with an iced latte and Hocus Pocus... I was so ready for the cold weather, I can’t wait to pull out my sweaters and comfy throw blankets.

I have an anatomy exam tomorrow afternoon, and I genuinely feel like I’m not even slightly prepared to take this exam. This is also the same class that I didn’t have access to the textbook and lab manual for because my access codes weren’t working. Luckily the company sent me new codes on Friday and now I’m playing catch-up with the reading and my lab assignments. It’s driving me insane and I’m fairly certain I will be studying well into the night and into the afternoon right before my exam.
I’m trying to cut back on dairy because it doesn’t make me feel all that well when I have it, but dairy I’m struggling to find a dairy free yogurt I like. This one wasn’t horrible but I didn’t like the calories, added sugar, lack of protein, etc. If anyone has any recommendations for dairy free yogurt please let me know.

Because I’ve had to put my printer next to my bed as there wasn’t enough room next to my desk, I’ve started studying in bed when I need to print out a lot of things for classes. Today I went through some old psychology files from my senior year of High School when I took AP Psych. I’m having to take Intro to Psych for my minor even though I got a 5 on my AP exam so I decided to print out my old study and reading guides. This also gave me the opportunity to put together my psychology binder for MCAT revision. Additionally I’ve been studying for my upcoming Anatomy exam. We’re officially two weeks into the semester and I already have three exams this coming week. I think I’ve also already taken five quizzes and I’m actively working on a lab report for my botany lab.

I woke up this morning so not motivated so I took a small break from being productive and pushed it to this afternoon. I have a lot of reading to do today!!! One of my favorite things about having loose leaf textbooks is being able to take out the chapters you need rather than having to deal with the bulky textbook in your way.
My classes started Wednesday, but I was unable to attend classes as I was hospitalized for an emergency issue. I was discharged yesterday morning and right after getting home a hurricane touched down in the area. A lot of damage and power outages all over which got me out of my class this morning. Thankfully, when I lost power the backup generators kicked on so I am able to do some work!

Happy Saturday!!!
Woke up to an email from one of my professors with a link to a free copy of one of my textbooks that I paid full price for. I can’t even return the textbook I purchased because I took the shrink wrap off of it already. On the bright side this plum is delicious and I have completed everything I wanted to do in preparation for the semester. A sneak peak at my schedules for the semester with lectures on the left and labs on the right. I’m taking four classes, but I’m only scheduled for two of those classes to have synch lectures (I have to sit in on a video call for the lectures). The other two classes are asynch and “teach yourself” format. I have three labs this semester, two of which are scheduled to be online from day one with the other scheduled to be on campus up until November.
I am honestly a bit concerned about returning to campus. I’m supposed to be on campus Mondays and Tuesdays for a couple of hours meaning I will need regular testing and contact tracking. Now here’s the thing, I have an autoimmune disease so I’m immunocompromised. I was also on heavy antibiotics this past spring and have been taking aggressive immunosuppressants from October up until a couple of months ago. My university announced that after a few days of having residents back on campus there have been four positive cases pop-up after everyone’s initial tests came in negative.
I’m spending my last free weekend grocery shopping, completing some shadow work, and convincing myself I don’t need a puppy. I might also go to the health food market and get a wheatgrass shot this morning. I have very little energy and my mother is supposed to come over for dinner tonight. I’m also considering a vegan cheesecake square because they’re sinfully delicious.

It’s raining today so it is very gloomy in my bedroom outside of a little bit of light coming from my sun porch if I turn to face the door. I have exactly one week until my fall classes start and I officially possess all of my textbooks, access codes, and supplies needed (except for a few notebooks I will be ordering in a couple of weeks). I ordered some coasters, a water bottle, and a study lamp from IKEA this morning. They won’t be here until the 5th of September but hopefully the lighting I currently have in my room will be enough to cover studying until the new lamp arrives. Also my desk is a huge mess and I’m trying to decide how I want to arrange it for the coming semester so I can be sure I have enough work space.

The weekend. Same as any other day now really, with less work. With all the time in the flat I’m trying to do the things I’ve wanted to do but been putting off: I’m propagating tomatoes and herbs, sorting through these old copies of LRB and other magazines and papers, I’m going to complete that half-finished human rights law short course, tidy my kitchen cupboards and make pasta with the 00 flour that is still sat in a jar. All good time-filling things. But it’s also enough to just sit in the sun for an hour with a beer and a book, isn’t it
