Jenna Well, she's about to walk in and find out, and she is surprised. Should we jump to that? Pam and Darryl arrive, and she is clearly surprised. 

Angela I want to read you how the scene was described in the shooting draft. 

Jenna Lady!

Angela What? 

Jenna I have the same thing! 

Angela You did? 

Jenna Yes, because there is a big moment that got cut out. 

Angela Yes. 

Jenna Of Pam and Darryl's arrival. And I remember having to shoot the whole thing. Go ahead, read the description. 

Angela Okay. Pam and Darryl step out of the elevator and into Athlead. The place is bustling as they make their way up to the receptionist who is on the phone. The receptionist smiles and holds up a finger to say, one minute, please. There are two big leather armchairs and a coat rack. Pam and Darryl look around at the energetic, fashionably hip employees. Pam's old puffy parka- and then in parentheses, it says, from taking out the trash episode- is super dorky in comparison to their sleek looks. She takes it off and hangs it on the coat rack, where it covers the leather jackets that were already hanging on it. Darryl, making light of the fancy armchairs, bows formally to Pam and gestures for her to have a seat. They both sit and watch the energy. Pam looks for Jim. Ready for this? Jim enters from the back hall with a client. They walk towards reception. The client is tough and Jim's all business. They approached Darryl and Pam. Pam starts to smile and give a wave, then thinks better of it. Jim winks at her. 

Jenna Yeah. So most of all of that got cut. But we got a fan question from Luke M in England who said, At the eight minute mark, Jim greets Daryl and Pam at Athlead and he says goodbye to Dennis, who then awkwardly searches for a coat behind Pam and then just disappears. What was that? Well. That was, if you look close, Pam's giant puffer coat is covering all the other coats on the coat rack because of this long entrance that ended up getting cut. 

Angela Yes. The script went on to describe that moment, saying that this awkwardness of Pam's coat covering the sleek coat was all part of making Pam feel like she was out of place.

[Apartment scene] Yes. And you know what go, you know, what really kept it for me is seeing those piles and piles of clothes that his mother sent him in Luke's apartment. It's like, we're done. You're not my son. I'm disowning you. Let Luke raise you. And it's just, I felt so bad for him. And I just, I don't know. I just fell a little deeper in love with him, you know? So anything he was doing in the episode and he wasn't being like, you know, jerky to Dean anymore. In this episode, it was just sort of, he was just going back and forth. He, he wants this girl and I really see that he's unable to, he he just doesn't trust people. And he's so wounded by his, the rejection of his mother that he's not going to open up to anybody. -Scott 

[Wall/Apartment Hunting scene] Could only do one take. And Amy told us to, I said, listen, you can only do one take, because if we have to do another take, if you flubbed the line or you flubbed the hit, then it's going to take a couple of hours to re to reset, reset this whole scene, this set. Yeah... Hey, it's time, it's time to Tom Brady and, and rise to the occasion in honor of his retirement...I think it was either somebody throwing things down or was, or was rigged for stuff to fall. Yes, indeed. And it was perfect. The whole thing is perfect, but yes, and you're right. Notice how, when I come in, Jess doesn't pay attention to me. But then when I go in the closet, get the sledgehammer and start passing him and he turns and notices a sledgehammer. So it's like all his, he has no dialogue, but he's communicating his confusion, his amazement, his fear, his excitement, all in, in his body movements. And then he gets up very quickly, very energetically to follow me, to see what the hell he's doing. Like as Luke gonna go beat somebody's head in what's he doing? He doesn't know. And then when I go to the wall and smash it, he just, his body tightens up and he's like amazed by it. And like, what the hell is going on? So these people are so wonderful at what they do. Their craft is so finely honed. And especially in that, that walk and talk, we were doing, I was doing with, with Milo looking at apartments. So that was all like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. -Scott

I already seeing the green shoots of his relationship or his feelings for Rory Rory saving his life books are saving his life. Without Rory, without books. This kid's in trouble. This kid's going into jail. This kids, you know, committing violent acts. I mean, we saw an earlier episode that he is prone to violence, that he is, you know, a beat away a heartbeat away from, from punching somebody. But now he's softening. He's getting deeper into his feelings with Rory. Her feelings are deepening. He's reading more, he's spending more time with, you know, in his Luke's now garbage apartment filled with his boxes and stuff. -Scott
