^^^ More important info ^^^
(Also I can’t believe I forgot to mention the bit about their semi-retractable claws, especially since they’re the one of the only known canine Pokémon species that has that trait naturally! [The other species is the Rockruff line, in case anyone’s curious!])
What pokemon would you suggest for a system with wildly different needs? Ordona hates touch (gets too hot), Yrsa can't have their neck touched, James and Omen like something cuddly, and Nero wants something he could spar with (but that's not a requirement). We're relatively active but don't go for hikes, and we're in a climate that's got a cold winter and a boiling summer.
Ooh, you know what Pokémon would be a great addition to your home? An Alolan Ninetales!
Tumblr media
Despite being part Ice-type, Alolan Ninetales actually do surprisingly well in warm climates, so summers shouldn’t be too big of a problem (though giving your frosty friend a Never Melt Ice certainly wouldn’t hurt) They also tend to be quite adaptable personality-wise as well; they can be very affectionate and cuddly when needed, and more laidback and reserved when not. Sparring may not really be on the cards as this species is typically on the calmer side, but I am sure there are individuals who would be down for a friendly tussle.
Much like their Kantonian cousins, Alolan Ninetales groom themselves fairly frequently, which helps with their grooming requirements. A good brushing two or three times a week should be enough to keep your Ninetales’ fur in peak condition, just be aware that their tail fur, as well as the fur of their mane and head crest, is a bit more susceptible to matting due to the curliness.
Alolan Ninetales are known, at least in Alola, for their gentle temperaments, and are generally safe Pokémon for owners of all experience levels! Overprotectiveness and resource guarding can be issues though, so it’s a good idea to provide your Ninetales with proper training and socialization (ideally as a Vulpix) in order to help prevent those problems from popping up.

Laur’s Field Notes: Ralts Tree (#280 - #282, #475)
Scientific Name: Custos psychica
Species: Feeling Pokémon | Emotion Pokémon | Embrace Pokémon | Blade Pokémon
Average Wild Lifespan: 60 - 70 years
Habitat
While they may be found in urban areas and around ruins, wild members of the Ralts tree are most commonly found living deep within forests, far from humans.
Diet
All Ralts tree members are omnivorous, though each stage tends to have differing preferences. Ralts and Kirlia, for example, are frugivores, which are herbivores or omnivores that have diets primarily consisting of fruit, though they may also consume nuts, roots, shoots, seeds, leaves, and–occasionally–small insect Pokémon.
Gallade, meanwhile, prefer more protein-rich, meat-based diets. They can eat primarily plants but, if given the choice, their diets will typically consist of small-to-medium-sized ungulate (hooved) Pokémon, unfertilized eggs, nuts, legumes, seeds, and small fish/shellfish Pokémon.
And lastly, Gardevoir fall somewhere in the middle, with their typical diets consisting of fruit, nuts, unfertilized eggs, honey, roots, shoots, seeds and leaves as well as the occasional small fish or insect Pokémon.
Social Behaviours & Reproduction
The Ralts tree is extremely social, often living in groups that consist of multiple individuals from each evolutionary stage. There are no set hierarchies within these groups, though the eldest members of the group will typically be looked to for guidance.
Though this tree’s members were previously believed to practice strict monogamy, recent research suggests that they may, in fact, form closed polygamous (or polyfidelitous) relationships as well.
Regardless of relationship structure, mated individuals form incredibly deep bonds (in fact, the word “bond” is commonly used to describe a pair/group of mated individuals within this species), mating for life and typically refusing to take additional mates should a member of their bond pass away or otherwise be separated from them.
This species is capable of breeding year-round and, after a gestation period of approximately 6 months, anywhere from 1 to 9 Ralts will be born, with a single Ralts being the most common outcome, and any more than 4 being considered extremely rare. It is also not uncommon for members of this species to adopt orphaned/abandoned Pokémon, even if said Pokémon is of a different species.
All members of a bond share equal parental responsibilities and, in bonds consisting of 3+ individuals, there does not appear to be any disparity between genetic parents and non-genetic parents when it comes to raising offspring. In a similar vein, this species has not been observed to show any sort of favouritism towards genetic and/or same-species offspring when compared to non-genetic and/or different-species offspring.
Variants
Though the Standard green-and-white variant is by far the most commonly seen variant within this species, members of the Ralts tree may also be varying shades of blue-and-white/light magenta (in the case of Ralts)(Shiny), purple-and-white, red-and-white, orange-and-white, and pink-and-white.
The rare Reverse variant, which causes the colours of an individual’s body to be “flipped” (ex. parts that would normally be green on a Standard Gardevoir would be white and vice-versa,) has also been recorded in the species.
Another colour morph is the Midnight variant, which results in an individual's normally white "pants" or "robe" turning black. While the exact cause of this variant is currently unknown, it is most commonly seen in non-Shiny carriers of the Shiny gene, suggesting a potential link.

Do bird pokemon like dust baths? I have seen pidgey in the wild going nuts rolling around in loose dirt. Is that normal or are these one's just a bit odd?
They do like dust baths, and dust bathing is actually part of a their preening behaviour! Basically, the dust gets worked into the Pokémon’s feathers and soaks up any excess oil which, in turn, prevents the feathers from becoming greasy or matted. The excess dust is then shed by the Pokémon, along with dry skin and any other debris that may be in the feathers.

question, how do i calm down a gardiver that's currently throwing furniture at me and the other Pokémon I'm watching. i don't know what angered he, she just woke up and chose violence!
Oh dear, that doesn’t sound like a fun situation to be in. Are any of the other Pokémon capable of using any of the following moves: Aromatherapy | Grass Whistle | Heal Bell | Hypnosis | Lovely Kiss | Sing | Sleep Powder | Yawn
If so, have them use those moves on Gardevoir, that should calm her down and, depending on the move, send her off to dreamland for a bit. I’d also suggest using this time to check her for any injuries, as that could be what’s agitating her.
If you have her PokéBall on hand, you could also try recalling her for a bit. It may not fix the problem, but it would lower the risk of you/the other Pokémon getting hit by flying furniture.

Hey it’s me, Bitts anon, here to ramble about the old man again! (I have no idea how long Darkrai can live for or how old they actually are but Bitts just has Old Man Vibes, y’know?) So first off, he is hard of hearing, and it’s probably from an old battle or several of them. He can get hearing aids though and I’m excited to see how he feels once those come in! (1/3) (Sorry bout the multiple parts…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
((Don’t apologize, it’s perfectly fine))
Oh, I bet he’ll be so excited to be able to hear clearly! Just be careful, all the new noises can be a bit startling for Pokémon, don’t want the old man getting stressed out!
...I’m so sorry, but the idea of a mighty Darkrai being scared of the doctor and hiding on the ceiling is kind of funny. Also, have you tried giving him decaf? I feel like that could help lessen some of the after-coffee effects.
Aww, he wants to give you flowers, that’s so sweet! Also, yeah, regular Repels don’t always work super well against stronger species like Darkrai. Max Repels may work though, as could Colbur Berry spray (literally just Colbur Berry juice and water), there’s just something about that berry that keeps Dark-types away.

I was going through some of my big sister's old photos and thought this one was just too cute not to share. 😁 This is Genji, you can see he's very happy to be wearing his ribbon. He's very protective of that ribbon, he doesn't let anybody touch it and he's always careful to keep it tidy during battles. He and my sister are off adventuring these days, I miss them both a lot, but thankfully she takes a lot of photos like these so I'm not left out.
Aw, he does look quite happy with his ribbon! And who can blame him, he looks absolutely dapper in it! Thank you for sharing!

God I need to tell this cuz this is literally a wholesome story that everyone should hear. Anyways-
When I was a like 12 or so I was always snooping around forest and such seeing all of the sights and wonders of pokemon. One day I saw a small group of Gardevoirs floating around the vicinity carrying a small ralts thats clearly distressed and dropped it like it was a rock. So naturally the dumb 12 year older I am decided to walk over the ralts and see its horns to be unnaturally sharp and pointy.
So I took the lil fella home and named them "Giff." From what I can assest, it was abandoned because of how frail he is. Every time he was in a room he would shiver in cold and gets easily wounded (the bandaids were all over the place) so every time I go home from school Giff would waddle up to be and hop till I finally hugged him and carried him to bed where we slept together.
Giff on my warm chest cooing and rubbing.
Now that im 21, Giff evolved from a frail ralts to a cheerful kirlia and all the way to a Brave Gallade... and even after all these years he still does the hop thing and wanting to hug me tight. God I love him to death
Aww, that’s so sweet! Pokémon always remember the people who were good to them, so I bet Giff is thankful everyday that you were the one who found him!

Hello miss Laur, Pickles and I are visiting alola and he found a pinapp berry that he wants to give to you. Is there somewhere we can drop it off for you?
(Pickles is an oak leaf variant and he's very friendly, he loves head scritches)
Oh my goodness, how sweet! Tell you what, I’ll be on my lunch break soon, so why don’t we meet up at the Hau’oli Pokémon Center? Sound good?
Also, what sort of treats does Pickles like? I think it’s only polite to give him a gift in return!

Ah, a Flareon? I can’t believe I never considered this- It’s a wonderful idea!
Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to talk with her about, see how things go :)
-Sincerely, Miko
Glad I could help, I hope your friend is able to find the perfect pal for her, regardless of if it’s a Flareon or not!

Please ignore if you're not doing pokemon match-ups. Female of a fairly large height [5'10] but lean figure. I tend to be more academic with a variety of fascinations that switch. Activities tend to be indoor activities, but I try to take a walk everyday and do some light exercise inside to stay in shape. Big stuffed animal holder and runs cold. Disabled, so spends majority of time at home. I have frequent migraines with a extreme sound senility and light sensitivity most days caused by a autoimmune disorder. So sick a lot as well. Very introverted and enjoys solo activies, doesn't mind pets being around 24/7 though.
Abode has a lot of dark shades to help block sunlight. The home isn't very large. It does have clutter but isn't dirty. Temprate area but the house tends to stay on the cooler side.
I would like a quiet pokemom that is fairly quite and no larger than a medium size. I like furry Pokémon for petting and cuddles. Low energy would be prefable as well.
I think an Umbreon would be absolutely perfect for you!
Tumblr media
Cool, calm, and collected, Umbreon are great Pokémon for people who aren’t looking for a super active, go-go-go Pokémon. These guys are extremely loyal, and will happily spend hours curled up with their owner, though they do require a bit of exercise (don’t worry, your daily walks/indoor exercises should be more than enough!) Plus, Umbreon are Dark-types, so one will feel right at home in your shady abode!
It’s pretty darn easy to meet an Umbreon’s grooming needs: just give them a good brushing once or twice a week and trim/file their claws as needed (walking your Umbreon on hard surfaces like concrete and asphalt can also help keep their claws trim) and that should keep them happy and healthy!
As I’ve mentioned before, Umbreon do secrete a toxic sweat when scared or angry and, while Umbreon are immune to this toxin, it can cause some pretty severe (though typically non-fatal) side-effects in humans and other Pokémon, so try to avoid handling your Umbreon if it’s scared/angry and, if you must handle it, be sure to take precautions (wear gloves, wrap Umbreon in a towel, etc.) and wash your hands immediately afterwards.

Ooh for the pokemon matchups,
Someone who is an autistic nonbinary living in a small apartment with their boyfriend!
Does art often as a hobby and wants to go to collage to be a paleontologist!
I think a Fossil Pokémon would suit a future paleontologist, so how about a Shieldon?
Tumblr media
Generally considered one of the easiest Fossil Pokémon to care for, Shieldon are little sweeties who can actually do quite well in smaller living spaces so long as they’re able to get out and stretch their legs every once in a while!
Like many Rock-types, Shieldon don’t really require much in terms of grooming. They’re furless, so there’s obviously no brushing needed, and beyond the occasional wipe-down in order to get excess mud/dirt off of them, there really isn’t a whole lot you’d need to do. I would, however, recommend providing your Shieldon with something it can use to polish its face shield, such as a slab of rock or a piece of wood that still has bark on it. You can also polish your Shieldon’s face yourself, and doing so can actually be a great way to bond with your Pokémon!
Shieldon are social Pokémon who do not do well alone, so I would suggest hiring a PokéSitter or leaving Shieldon at a daycare whenever you and your boyfriend are away from home and unable to take it with you. You should also look into getting the little one an Everstone as Bastiodon, while remarkably calm and gentle, are a bit too big for apartment living.

Found a tiny ralts in the back of my house lying in the entire night (It was windy that day) and was really cold. So I immediately swooped the fella in and put her in a small tank with a heat lamp. What sort of health procedures should I do? It's still shivering atm...
Take Ralts to a Pokémon Center as soon as you can, they’re the best equipped to deal with emergencies like this. Until then, here’s what you can do to help the little one
Keep Ralts bundled in warm, dry blankets, making sure to cover their head while leaving their face exposed. You should also get them out from under the heat lamp, as extreme, direct heat like that can lead to skin damage and, in cases where hypothermia is present, can cause issues with the heartbeat (this rule also applies to hot water baths as well as heating pads)
Warm compresses, such as towels/facecloths that have been warmed in a dryer, can help when applied to the neck and chest. However, be careful not to apply the compress to Ralts’ arms or legs, as doing so can cause the body temperature to drop further due to the cold blood being forced back towards the Pokémon’s heart, lungs, and brain
If Ralts is awake and seems capable of swallowing liquids, provide them with warm (not hot) water to drink. If Ralts appears unconscious, monitor their breathing and, if their breathing stops or appears to have become low or shallow, administer CPR if you are trained to do so

I hope you're still open, if so I'd like to ask you a pokemon matchups! I'm almost at my thirty, so I would prefer a not baby pokemon, since it's require quite a bit of time.
I'm mostly a loner, friendly with everyone, but very selective and who doesn't renounce at their alone time. I enjoy quiet, but I'm a competitive type. Since I'm older I tell myself no a lot of time, but I ache to show I'm the strongest. I know and read a lot, but I'm very forgetfull so I always have a list of things I have to do. I'm very different from any classic sterotype, so I'm usually viewed as weird, and I usually tend to not care a lot about myself.
I enjoy teaching younglins praying them to be fair, wise and be themselves. I am also stressed for family matters, but I kinda used to it even if it's not easy.
Thanks a lot!
Hmm, how does an Alakazam sound to you?
Tumblr media
Typically calm, but never a Pokémon to back down from a good challenge, I think the Psi Pokémon would be a wonderful match for you! They are also incredibly smart and have amazing memories, so an Alakazam could definitely help you with your forgetfulness!
Alakazam are pretty self-sufficient Pokémon and are usually perfectly capable of keeping themselves clean, so there will be little to no grooming required from you. I would, however, recommend providing your Alakazam with some sort of mustache care product, as the species tends to take great pride in that particular feature.
Alakazam are generally peaceful Pokémon, typically only attacking in order to defend themselves or a person/Pokémon they care about. They can, however, get a bit difficult to handle if they aren’t provided with adequate mental stimulation, so be sure to provide your Alakazam with plenty of enrichment (this is especially important if they are not going to be battling regularly)

While travelling for Photos, Saw a Hatenna that is extremely hot and chased her to the pokemon center. From the looks of it, It has been abandoned or lost. Im not too sure if I can raise this fella right since when she got out, she's been following me ever since.
She likes the egg that I got from my wife too.
Oh dear, I’m glad you found the poor thing. The temperatures during this time of year can be so difficult for non-Fire-types.
Hatenna are a bit harder to raise than some other Pokémon, but they’re not much more difficult than, let’s say, Ralts. They’re typically very timid Pokémon, and can be very picky about who they spend their time with (though, it sounds to me like you’ve already passed that test!)
Of course, if you feel as though your lifestyle wouldn’t match up with the Hatenna’s needs (they do best in calm environments, and aren’t usually good matches for people/households that have difficulty controlling their emotions), then I’m sure a Pokémon shelter, sanctuary, or even a Psychic-type specialist would be happy to take her in. If you do decide to keep her, however, then you and your wife will soon find yourselves with just about the truest friend there is!

Hello, I’m looking for a Pokemon matchup!
People tend to say I’m really nervous and I hate to agree with them.. I’m working on it! Slowly- But when I’m not a nervous wreck, I’d say I’m mostly a curious person, who would like to get to know more people and Pokemon :)
I’m a young adult male, and I work at a Pokemon center that one of my older sisters run! I usually work from around 7AM to 5PM, but I do help around after that as well. I wake up at around 4 though, seeing as I take.. very long to get ready, even with Charlotte’s help.
I’m very sensitive to the heat, so a Pokemon that can keep me cool would definitely be appreciated- I remember the time I nearly fainted while on a shift when the AC wasn’t working.. that wasn’t very fun and it is NOT an experience I would like to repeat any time soon!
I live in Mauville City, and my apartment isn’t exactly the biggest- But I do have 2 bedrooms at least! My Riolu likes to sleep in my bed with me most of the time, since she isn’t a fan of being in her Pokeball after a certain.. well.. incident.
I live in Hoenn, which is an (unfortunately) warmer climate. My sisters keep trying to get me to move somewhere colder, but I’m halfway convinced that they just don’t want to deal with me anymore- I love them though, and wouldn’t trade them for anything :)
I work with a lot of different Pokemon, big and small, soft and scaly! Though, I don’t have any Pokemon of my own other than my Riolu, Charlotte. She’s a very good helper, and is very friendly! Clingy too- She doesn’t battle all too much, but does step in to help with the rowdier Pokemon at the center if we can’t handle it ourselves
The new Pokemon would most likely serve as someone to help me out at work, while also being a good companion for me and Lottie! I like to do simple things with my Pokemon, like read books together on the couch or just watch whatever shows or movies are on at the moment :)
That should be about it, and thank you in advance!
-Cerys Joy
Hmm, you know what, Cerys? I think a Water-type would be a good match for you. How about a Vaporeon?
Tumblr media
Alright, everybody say it with me now: you can almost never go wrong with an Eeveelution! Vaporeon are great Pokémon for really any sort of lifestyle, whether it’s life as a top-tier battle partner, or life as a beloved couch companion. They can also live in pretty much any climate as long as they have access to water (and, since you live in Hoenn, I don’t think you’ll have any trouble finding your finned friend a place to swim!)
Vaporeon have pretty short fur, so their grooming needs aren’t particularly intensive; a good brushing once or twice a week should be all they need! You will want to bathe them if they’ve spent any time in chlorinated water and, when bathing, be sure to use products intended for furred Water-types, as using regular products can damage their coat. During grooming, it’s also a good idea to check the webbing between their paws, just to make sure no dirt or rocks have gotten stuck.
These guys are usually pretty calm, friendly Pokémon, so I have no doubts that one will get along swimmingly with you and Charlotte! One thing to be aware of is that Vaporeon can have somewhat high prey drives towards Pokémon that they’d typically, well, prey upon in the wild (mainly small fish, shellfish, and cephalopod Pokémon), so I’d highly recommend keeping an eye on your Vaporeon whenever they’re around said Pokémon (it is, however, worth noting that this is typically more of an issue in wild-caught Vaporeon, as opposed to Vaporeon that were captured as Eevee)

Do ghost types actually feed on life energy and negative emotions the way some people say they do? My sister has a misdreavus that likes to slam doors behind me to spook me sometimes, but I’ve never gotten the impression he actually wants to make me feel seriously bad. I tried asking around and a few people told me he’s doing it out of malice and trying to make my day worse so he can absorb the negative energy (or something), but I find that hard to believe.
Not all Ghost-types but, in the case of Misdreavus, yes. However, the people you asked about your sister’s Misdreavus were slightly incorrect: Misdreavus don’t get their sustenance from people having bad days, they get it from people being scared. Misdreavus is definitely trying to spook you, but that’s likely it, they’re very rarely malicious without reason.
