simple exercises for baby witches ♡🌱

- meditate. even five minutes every day does wonders for developing self-understanding and your connection to the earth and spiritual realm.

- hone your intent- your most powerful tool. write your desires on a piece of paper and seal it with wax, or burn it (safely) in a candle. since intent is usually represented by fire, stare into flame and imagine it manifesting as your intentions or a kind of familiar that will stay will you and help you in your journey.

- consecrate your food. before eating, consider its origins and thank all that is responsible for bringing it to you. 

- create an altar. this can be as complex or as simple as you like- crystals and candles help, but all you truly need is your intent and any objects that prompt you to consider and value whatever you dedicate your altar to (a deity, nature, a festival, yourself…)

- develop a habit of starting or ending your day with some yoga. as you do so, make sure to thank the sun for rising and for setting, the moon for being so serene and the stars for all the stories they hold.

- connect with the elements. whether you are walking, sitting, falling asleep- balance yourself by acknowledging the elements. for example, notice your breath (air), notice the weight of your body or your contact with the ground (earth), notice your thoughts and emotions, or simply the saliva in your mouth (water) and notice your heartbeat (fire).

- bath magic! this is a favourite of mine simply because it is so versatile- use salts, bath bombs, candles, crystals, lavender or petals in order to clear negativity, cleanse for a spell, honour a deity, help heal yourself, strengthen self love and care, renew intentions and goals…

- practice a grounding exercise- do some research into what kind of grounding you like the most. I usually imagine roots drawing up energy from the earth’s core.

- go outside for the sake of going outside. talk to the flowers and trees and wind. acknowledge the extraordinary complexities of nature- how science and magic flows and interacts to form our beautiful planet.

- be thankful. you are alive! isn’t that incredible? whatever happened, whatever is going to happen, you are fortunate enough to be here, living and breathing and experiencing. keep doing so.

tarot cards in spells

i haven't seen a lot of people talking about how you can use tarot cards in spells, so i decided to make a post about it. please remember that this is just my personal experience and preference. i hope you enjoy!

why use tarot cards?

there is most likely a tarot card for every spell you could possibly do, so you can be really specific

tarot cards generally have a lot of imagery, and because of that they're really expressive, which i personally think can help with making your spell more effectice

they're easy to use. if you don't have a lot of ingredients, but own a tarot deck, you can easily do a spell with just them

how do i use them?

there's a lot of different ways to use them in spell casting. here are a few different methods that i have used and that has worked well for me!

visualization

this one is really easy! all you need is your card of choice, and a clear and focused mind. let's say that you're doing a spell to bring happiness to a friend. you take your card, for example The sun, and imagine your friend in the card. imagine them sitting on the horse, smiling. imagine them looking up at the sun and absorbing its energy, or them happily dancing in the fields. the possibilites are endless!

charging and enchanting

just take whatever object you want to enchant or charge, and then choose what card to use. if you want to attract new relationships, take your item of choice (for example a necklace you always wear) and put it on top of The ace of cups. let it charge for however long you want, and you're done! now your necklace is filled with the energy of The ace of cups, which is a card that stands for new relationships. simple as that!

symbolization

this kinda goes with the visualization method, but it's a little different. let's say that you're doing a binding spell on a storm. then you would take The tower, since it shows a storm, and do your binding. basically, you use the imagery on the card more than the meaning. this is probably more useful for more detailed decks, but i still wanted to include it!

again, remember that these aren't all the ways to use tarot cards in spells, and that it's all very personal and up to you. please do your own research on this too! anyways, that's all ♡

Moon Water Bath

Want to boost your love life just in time for Valentine’s Day? With all the love in the air, who doesn’t? Self-love counts. (Feb. 15th is the national discount chocolate day!) 

Here’s what you’ll need: 

🌙Distilled water charged under the full moon

🌙A nice hot bath

🌙Red Rose Petal (rose oil also works with or without the roses!)

🌙Your favorite bath salts

Combine and soak! I find that your favorite love songs really put you in the right headspace for this. Let your intentions flow during your bath!

🔥 Room Healing Spell 🔥

A spell that can be cast at any moon phase or any time of the day to turn your room into a magick-inducive environment. The perfect spell for baby witches who want to start with spellwork. I created this when I was 12 (2006) and it has been 11 years since then and it’s still effective.

Recommended to Cast During: Any moon phase at any time of the day.

Colors: Black and White

Needed: 

🌿 2 Candles (either white or black)

🌙 An Athame (or any pointed object for engraving a candle)

🌿 A Wand (or any stick that is made from any natural material such as twigs, pencils, wooden chopsticks, selenite crystal, clear quartz wand)

To Cast:

🌿 Light one of the candles.

🌙 Start engraving a protection sigil or any symbolism that you dedicate with strength and protection on the unlit candle.

🌿 Twirl your wand around your engraved candle and say,

“Go away negativity and sway away. Positivity, if you wish to enter, you may.”

🌿 Light the engraved candle and carry it.

🌙 Bring the engraved candle with you and light the four corners of your room moving clockwise (start with north)

🌿 Meditate for 5 minutes after (chakra meditation is recommended or plain floor grounding is alright; that is to lie down completely on the floor)

What To Expect:

🌿 Your room will turn into a much more relaxing environment.

🌙 Negative energy that was collected through time will be diminished.

🌿 Better sleep, better naps, better magick.

🌙 Stronger magick especially for healing and love.

💸💰Money spell💰💸

For this spell I used:

A green candle

A green lighter

A few coins

Cinnamon oil

And @tea-candles-and-witchcraft money sigil (Picture if the sigil at the bottom)

How I did it:

1. Placed the candle on my altar

2. Rubbed cinnamon oil on the candle

3. Placed coins around the candle

4. Carved the sigil in it and lit the candle

5. Spoke: I have lots of money 3 times

Flame meaning:

Strong, not flickering flame: Powerful, manifestation, spell worked

Small, flickering flame: not powerful, spell didn't work

Here is the sigil:

easy protection charm/amulet spell!

works on all objects but best for crystals or jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc) that can be worn or carried at all times.

alternatively you can charm objects and keep them in a room to ward the room against any negative/dark energies.

cleanse object. can use rainwater, moonwater, salt, beach sand, incense, etc. i like to use a combination of these- typically salt and incense.

take a piece of paper, draw a pentacle in the middle. (five pointed star in a circle- symbol of protection)

draw the elemental symbols of air, earth, water, and fire in the four corners of the paper in any order.

use corresponding elements to mark the paper in a way that leaves residue. for example, light incense and scrape the ash off for air, light a candle and singe the corner for fire, rub some salt or dirt on for earth, etc

place object in center of pentacle

invoke the elements, ask for their help in protecting you via the charm

invoke any deities that you work with. be sure to ask them first and leave offerings as thanks!

remove object and dispose of paper.

it takes effect immediately. the charm itself is single use- if something (a spirit, for example) tries to hurt you, the object may break or otherwise become useless. if it’s still in once piece/salvageable, you can redo the spell on the same object. if not, find a new object and begin again!

anyone can use this spell but the more times you cast it and the more energy you put in, the better it works! happy casting :)
