Maternity kits, medical threads and scissors, water testing kits, anesthetics, mobile desalination units, etc do you see the pattern? Israel is not only starving the people of Gaza but it also wants to ensure the spread of disease through contaminated water and surgical tools, as well as ensuring injured Palestinians suffer through horrendous pain.
It's beyond sickening.

A graphic from Mad magazine #182 from April 1976. The larger piece this comes from is "A Mad Portfolio of Some Idealists' Dreams" by Arnoldo Franchioni.
I have been starting to visit and revisit Mad following the discovery of a huge box of old issues in the storage unit of my wife's late uncle. Some of this stuff has aged in rather interesting ways.

just noticed that the tumblr report function has removed the option to report someone who is not yourself being harrassed, while having added the option to report someone for ban evasion. surely, this change has no ties to the mass harrassment campaigns against transfeminine users on this site that said users and their supporters would like to report, and which have led to transfem users getting mass reported themselves to the point of fraudulent bans /s

I miss 80s/90s film cinematography and set design so deeply… everything looks so rich and textured and orange and sweaty and cluttered… when I see a modern movie shot on digital where everyone’s clothes look steam pressed off a studio rack and the interiors are harshly lit and bare as a showroom I throw up in my mouth. and a little dribbles out

A man is sitting next to a woman on a plane…
A man and a woman were sitting beside each other in the first class section of a plane.
The woman sneezed, took out a tissue, gently wiped her nose, and then visibly shuddered for ten to fifteen seconds.
The man went back to his reading. A few minutes later, the woman sneezed again, took a tissue, wiped her nose, then shuddered violently once more.
Assuming that the woman might have a cold, the man was still curious about the shuddering. A few more minutes passed when the woman sneezed yet again.
As before, she took a tissue, wiped her nose, her body shaking ever more than before.
Unable to restrain his curiosity, the man turned to the woman and said, “I couldn’t help but notice that you’ve sneezed three times, wiped your nose and then shudder violently. Are you OK?”
“I am sorry if I disturbed you, I have a very rare medical condition; whenever I sneeze I have an orgasm.”
The man, more than a bit embarrassed, was still curious. “I have never heard of that condition before” he said. “Are you taking anything for it?”
The woman smiled, “Pepper.”

Twitter users are defending their right to assume Picasso was a renaissance artist. Tiktok users think watching any film made outside the US makes you a snob. “Replace classic lit with YA and fan fiction” discourse is flourishing. I think we’re just living in anti intellectual times.
