One big thing I'm taking into 2024:
Letting God lead the way.
Letting God lead doesn't always look the way you think it does. Oftentimes, it leads you into the uncomfortable. It leads you into leaning not on your own understanding, even when your understanding looks convincing. It leads you into waiting and praying longer than you expected. It leads you into making decisions that don't always seem to make sense.
But praise God. I'm so grateful for the times I let God lead in 2023.
When you let God lead, you are letting the all-knowing Father show you who He is. You get to see Him show up. You see the fruit of obedience. You see that His ways are the best. You see answered prayers. You experience His joy and provision in the most unexpected moments.

Your lowest point doesn't have to be the end of the story.
I reread the book of Jonah (yes, the Jonah who was in the belly of the great fish 🐋), and something stuck out to me like never before:
Jonah was running from God. And yet God *still* prepared a place to meet with him.
In the middle of a storm, Jonah is thrown overboard from the ship he boarded after running from God's instruction for him, yet God already had a plan of mercy. Jonah 1:17 says that God PROVIDED a great fish to swallow up Jonah.
What a great act of love -- not only did He spare Jonah's life, but He provided an environment where Jonah could be alone, recognize his need for God, and turn back to the faithful God he was running from.
In the belly of a fish, the most absurd circumstances, God met with Jonah.
Maybe you've been running for quite some time now.
Maybe you've been distracted.
Maybe you've been restless.
Maybe you've been running from fear, disappointment, insecurity, or pain.
Maybe you're upset with God.
Maybe you've turned your back on Him.
I'll tell you this: Don't be so quick to run from the opportunity you've been given to know God more intimately.
Even in the running, God pursues you and never stops loving you. He wants to meet with you. Even in your hurts, questions, and uncertainties. This very place is your opportunity to speak with Him, to stop doing things your way, and by your own strength. You can't keep doing this alone.
God wants to give you rest. God wants to meet with you. Even here. God is so good that He creates purpose and restoration in the most unexpected circumstances.

💛 This week's encouragement: God will never leave you.
As we approach the end of the year, I hope you remember that you are never alone. It is God who goes before you.
I hope you have the boldness to be obedient, the strength to pray, and the courage and patience to wait upon Him.
My friends, remember this: living for God will never put you to shame.

Consider what God may be trying to teach you...
When you feel isolated and lonely, consider that God may be trying to teach you that we can trust He will never truly leave us alone.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
When you feel heartbroken, consider that God may be trying to teach you what it means to fully rely on His strength and perfect will.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
When you feel like your future is going nowhere, consider that God may be growing you for the next season of your life in which you would never experience without the growth process first.
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” (John 15:2)
When you feel hopeless, consider that God may be trying to show you He gives us eternal hope, which outweighs the temporary hope this world offers us.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
The point is, God can teach us in every situation of our lives… we need only to be open to learning what that is.
Consider what He may be trying to teach you now!

Prayer can feel so daunting sometimes. And I hate admitting that, because my spirit knows it shouldn’t feel that way. But, if I’m honest with how my flesh is feeling, it often does. However, I’m reminded that our flesh is pulled in all different directions constantly, because that’s how this world works. And something so simple yet powerful such as talking with the Lord, can move mountains in my life. Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, “for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” God can use the smallest of things for good. He can use the simplest prayers for great impact. Prayer may feel daunting, but that’s a lie from the enemy because HE KNOWS what power there is in it!
For this reason, I must pray!!! And it doesn’t need to sound perfect, or be grammatically correct, or be long. God doesn’t want a powerpoint presentation, or a triple-checked and edited speech. Prayer is a conversation with the Lord that doesn’t end at “amen”… and I’m thankful to know that we can come to Him whenever and wherever—He listens and loves us.

You're not powerful enough to ruin God's plan for you.
In case you thought you blew it.
In case you thought you were too far gone.
In case you are stuck in fear.
Rest in the fact that God is a God of redemption, and He knows your limitations.
Psalm 103:13-14 reminds us: "As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."
If you're seeking to honor God, you're exactly where you need to be. He sees your heart, your sacrifices, and your obedience. It's not about perfection, but submission. God fulfills His plans through willing hearts.
Please don't think that you messed up the story.
Continue to show up faithfully, and know that God, in His faithfulness, will do His part and direct your path. 🌿
