Yes, both the public and Patreon demos work fine on mobile and automatically go into vertical mode.

hiiii just want to clarify the le fay colors real quick? i know that that lot’s color is green and his symbol is a bear, and elaine’s is pale blue and a swan, but what are morganas? are the le fay’s just also green?

The Le Fay's color is blue - azure blue, to get very specific.

Announcement

Hi folks! I am back with hopeful news. My hands are feeling better, though some discomfort/pain still lingers; I am, however, well enough to slowly get back to writing. 

So I let payments go through for February, since I'm planning to start work again.

I'm setting modest goals for myself this month. I want to make some progress on the game itself, however much that may be - I already wrote a small bit, the beginning of a conversation with Nimue I'm excited for - , and write the two short stories for the Knight and Champion Knight tier. The mini-game (featuring Elaine's POV during the sword-fight duel) will be postponed for now, since I don't want to push myself too much.

Some more news

Hey folks it's been a month since I disappeared now I'm back with news. First off I want to say thank you all for your support and patience. I will kindly ask you to extend me some more, because I've come to the decision to take January off as well. I'm keeping the billing paused on Patreon so if you're already subscribed you won't be charged for the month. Kofi doesn't allow for that so if you don't want to be charged, please remember to unsubscribe. In case you did get charged, feel free to drop me a message and I will sort it out.

I'm not thrilled about it. I badly wanted to jump back into writing with the coming of the new year, but unfortunately my hands don't agree with me. I can tell you that the issue seems to be with the ulnar nerves. So I've been resting, taking ibuprofen and doing light exercises, and I'm planning on seeing a doctor soon.

I have missed writing but I've been getting some work done by voice memos in which I outline scenes and detail plotlines, dialogues and descriptions. So all in all I did make some progress, and managed to keep myself entertained by thinking about BOC.

I'm feeling better now and I'm hoping that I'll be recovered by February. Overall it's been a very good year and I'm very proud of the writing progress I've done. I want to thank you all for your patience and support and wish you a happy New Year! ❤️

The public demo has just been updated with the first half of chapter 5. Elaine and her family have arrived in Lothia in preparation for her upcoming wedding to Gareth. The engagement has taken the castle by storm. Lot is dead set on the engagement while Morgana vehemently opposes it. Explore the aftermath of chapter 4's shocking revelations while navigating the rising tensions, and find some time for your day to day life. Meet Elaine - make a friend or fall in love however inadvisable - deal with Lot, prepare for the wedding and make time for your history lessons.

Besides all that we have some changes made to earlier chapters:

Reworked Nimue's conversation in chapter 1. Added a new dialogue option

Morgana's first POV in chapter 3, confronting Arthur has been polished and expanded a bit Changes have been made to chapter 4 to reflect that Mordred also keeps in touch with Guinevere if they're close to Arthur (she is not present at the birthday party but she is mentioned in correspondence)

I will be taking a break from writing for December and will be disabling payments for the month. The reason why I'm doing this is I developed a repetitive strain injury on my dominant hand, which is currently aching and stops me from being able to type. I've decided to take the month off from anything that would put more strain on it as to let it rest and recover. On top of it the holidays are soon coming up and I will be traveling to spend time with my family.

Now onto the fun news!

Soooo I've been having a problem, a Stats problem, and I've been having it for a while I guess. I always replay the demo from the beginning, for a lot of reasons, also cause I love to see what changed n what was improved. But that's not the issue. My Mordred is pretty much a menace, and insufferably defiant, like his mother. But when I look at the STATS menu, the description is wrong, it's always say "Unlike Morgana, you keep your head bowed, not looking for trouble", but that's not right, my Mordred IS defiant, I am playing with him being defiant, I'm having the right text with a defiant Mordred, it's really just the writing stats. The stats keeps right till chapter 3 I guess? But after that it just change.

So! Yeah, I expected there would be some issues with the stats page, unfortunately. I'm honestly still deliberating how to best approach it. I have instead worked on the relationships page, which was also in dire need of an update (I don't remember if it's been updated for the public demo yet, but it will be sometime this month) and I'll get to the stats in the future as well. The more I think about it, the less I'm a fan of really displaying those stats at the moment? I don't know, I want to give the player the freedom to shape Mordred without being constricted by numerical values, so most of the time I end up just supplying choices and less so testing if you've been defiant or shy or whatever have you and writing out a bit based on that.

Now, there are some stats that I use for flavor text without needing to add in a choice, but those stats are far more...clearly defined? Like the relationship stats, or the variables that keep track of how many times you've flirted or cried etc. The one that keeps track of whether Mordred is trying to control their magic or not. It's easier to quantify these choices than those personality wise, especially since I want to give the players freedom of reaction. So yeah! I'm sort of conflicted over stats and how to display them.

I should however add a little notice of "under construction" until I get round to fixing it.

Morgana smiles sweetly. It's a bad omen. "Yes, the Temple my mother built. It is a great source of pride for the Le Fay, to have spread the Goddess' faith beyond Avalon." Morgana leans in closer to Raphael and Beatrice, smile turning shrewd as if about to impart some great conspiracy. "Could you believe that it is quite a rarity for my dear husband to visit the Temple? I don't reckon he's stepped foot inside more than once, when it was erected and inaugurated."

"I would have accompanied you," Lot says, "but you only requested Sir Accolon's company."

"Perhaps Sir Accolon was better company," Elaine mutters under her breath, loud enough for you and Gareth and no one else to hear. She eyes the Duke critically, an expression both you and your brother take sharp notice of.

This is simply too good a retort to let pass by in a whisper. You echo Elaine's words for everyone to hear, if only to spite Lot: "Indeed, Sir Accolon is better company."

I'm doing well, thank to for asking anon. I'm working on chapter 5; the first half of it will be publicly available later this month, while the Patreon/Kofi demo gets updated with content from the second half, where the guests start arriving for the wedding.
