Tgcf spoilers
What if instead of just dying like mxtx said they would, sqx turned into into a ghost because of their unfinished business with hx.
I think that would be neat :)

Hua Cheng was a Supreme Ghost King, it meant that no matter who or what you were, you could never even come close to beating him.
For centuries, he’s been roaming the Three Realms, garnering power and riches, fighting heavenly officials, ruling the unruly Ghost City.
Time passed and tales of the Ghost King started to spread, stories of passion and cruelty, wits and violence.
But all of those stories came to the same conclusion, Hua Cheng, Blood Rain Seeking Flower, was invincible.
Who could have known then that something had already vainquished the mighty ghost: time.
He had spent centuries, if not millennia, searching, but to no avail. And after all this time, he could not even remember it.
Searching for ..... something, no, someone? He wasn’t sure. All he knew was that there was a hole in his unbeating but sore heart, and that he needed to fill it.
Even without knowing what it was, Hua Cheng kept on looking, he wouldn’t allow himself to give up. Something told him that the thing he was looking for was very important, maybe the most important thing in the world.
Hua Cheng had just finished exterminating a bunch of demons who were trying to wreck havoc in Ghost City. After torturing one of the useless shits, the latter revealed to him the hiding place of their boss.
He should hurry up and get back, he thought. He had finally managed to advance in his searching, or at least that’s what he felt. There was this book he found about a plague and a crown prince, and he weirdly felt drawn to it.
Well, he should hurry and kill the useless piece of shit so he could read it.
After easily finding the demon’s lair, Hua Cheng was ready to make that bastard die a second time.
He entered the dirty cave. It smelt like human blood. And walked into what seemed to be the main chamber. It was dark but Hua Cheng could discern a figure sitting on a throne.
« Blood fucking Rain, what in this ancestor’s name are you doing in my lair? Oh is it because of the minions I sent you? Serves you right you fucking piece of trash, you deserve to learn some fucking respect », the demon spat and stood up.
Hua Cheng was about to kill that useless trash when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
That face. So it was what he was looking for all this time. He suddenly felt complete as tears started to fall from his eye.
« B-Beloved? » he whispered, almost pleaded.
« ??? »
For the first time in his life (and unlife) Qi Rong really did not know what to say.

When you’re born, you’re born with a mark, a name to be exact. But it is not the name of you soulmate, no. It is the name of the person who will kill you.
Xie Lian does not get a mark, but that is not unusual in itself: some people die of natural causes, they do not necessarily need to be killed by someone. That’s what he thinks at first, and feels thankful for it.
But after centuries of roaming around the Earth, he figures he’ll probably never die.
Hua Cheng doesn’t have a marke either, maybe. Xie Lian is not sure, he never asked. They’re not close enough for that, after all.
He talks to the various and colorful residents of Ghost City one day and learns that ghosts lose their marks once they die.
Some get new ones, but that is very rare. Those new marks are for the ghosts who will get killed once again, even after their death. The ghosts joke about how many of them got Hua Chengzhu’s name on their bodies and are just waiting for their time to come.
Hua Cheng doesn’t have a mark, he shouldn’t have one. He is a Supreme Ghost, the feared Blood Rain Seeking Flower.
Hua Cheng shouldn’t have a mark but one day, when they are practicing calligraphy, Xie Lian notices something.
On Hua Cheng’s forearm, in nearly undecipherable scribbles lays his very name, ‘Xie Lian’.

Apparently people’s tastes form when they are very young, so what if Hua Cheng genuinely loved Xie Lian’s cooking because when he was young he used to eat whatever.

Tgcf spoilers!
Maybe I’m overthinking it but I think tgcf is basically about solving the question of « Two people and a Cup of Water »
Two people need satiation but there’s only one ressource, what do you do?
Mu Qing chooses the most worthy person : as we saw what happened in the auspiscious land, Mu Qing cares deeply about rank and apparences. There was one land and two groups wanted it. What did he do? He chose the more « important » group, the one with the heavenly officials, the one he needed in order to ascend and secure his future; and not his friend, now banished who has the lowest status and is not of any use.
Then there’s Feng Xin who doesn’t know who to give the cup to, and wants the people to choose among themself. He is a simple person who goes with the flow and does what he’s told: you tell him to be the prince’s personal guard and he’ll be loyal to a fault, you tell him to go away and he’ll leave.
Finally, Xie Lian wants to bring another cup. He has unrealistic expectations and wants to do/ thinks that he has to do more than he’s possibly capable of. And what happened because of it? People put him on a pedestal, overly overestimated him and when they realized he was only human, they turned their backs on him.
But then what is the right answer? What do you do if two people need water and there’s only one cup? Well, that’s the first thing hualian teaches us.
On the ox cart, two people were hungry but there was only one bun (hc of course doesn’t need to eat but xl didn’t know at the time). Both were ready to give everything to the other but in the end decided to share. And I noticed that everytime (or at least from what I remember) there’s a bun they always share it: in the gambler’s den Xie Lian gives Hua Cheng half of his bun after he lost and during black water’s arc I think there’s a moment (when they are on the boat if I remember correctly) they also share a bun...
At the beginning, Xie Lian kept losing against White No Face because he kept trying to do more than he could. And in the end how did he win? By sharing spiritual power.
In conclusion , the answer to the « Two People and a Cup of Water » problem is so simple it seems stupid: share the cup

I'm still seeing a few donation posts going around for sheikh jarrah, I know people are trying to help and everyone has good intentions, but these donation campaigns are not endorsed by them!! there's a lot people trying to take advantage of the situation and they're stealing money. instead, palestinians are asking for you to place political pressure, protest, boycott, divest, and share what's happening.
however, gaza needs donations for medical, financial, and food aid. below I've linked some trusted organisations:
PCRF (palestine children's relief fund) is an organisation that provides free medical care to children in palestine: urgent gaza relief fund
UPA (united palestinian appeal) is also directly based in palestine and provides emergency relief in gaza
palestine emergency charity that provide medical aid to wounded people and work with PCRF
