i love when a character is a ghost but in a tragic way instead of a scary way. i love when a character has been dead from the beginning but is still holding on to stay in the narrative. i love when a character could choose to resent the living but ends up loving them instead. i love when a character drives the story but isn’t quite there enough to be at the center of it. i love when the ghosts are the protectors instead of the ones causing the harm. i love when a character is at the heart of the story because depending on where you began it, no matter how you told it, the story is about the ghost who struggled to keep their humanity

a lot of people, especially allo gays, don’t seem to understand that if you take the statements aphobes make and apply them to gays, they’re quite obviously queerphobic, but when applied to us, we’re just whiney babies who want to be oppressed.

like, people (rightfully so) will be angry and combative if a straight person said “you’ll grow out of it, you just need to find the right man” to a lesbian, but those same people don’t bat an eye when it’s “you’ll grow out of it, you just need to find the right person” at an aromantic person

it’s all up in arms when a gay man is “perverted and unnatural” but silence when that’s said to an ace person.

“i can fix you” is a threat to gay people but aspecs hearing it are just whiney babies

“it’s a mental illness”. “god didn’t make you like that.” “you’re broken”. “you’re faking for attention.” “What a waste.” “How can you know if you haven’t tried it.”

If you can recognize why all those things would be bad to say to a gay person, you can also recognize how it’s bad that those are things aspecs also deal with near daily. 

so it bothers me how so many allo gays SEE the type of hate we get, but are still so ignorant that even though they hear the same things we do, they can’t recognize what’s right in front of their eyes. They don’t see how we go through the same things. We’re just whining. Because hey, how can we be hated if no one knows we exist? But maybe, just maybe, you’re forgetting that no one knowing you exist is not a privilege.
