i don’t know of any production with an explicitly queer mortiz, the closest thing would be the Almeida production where Stuart Thomas as Mortiz wears a skirt throughout
hey besties
anyone got a link to a version of spring awakening (play or musical) where moritz is explicitly queer, specifically trans? i know there’s a lot of discourse (?) on moritz’s gender (ex. headless queen) and i was just curious if there are any productions where its explored. tia!!!
spring awakening always fucks me up, like they really said let’s put the entire spectrum of human emotion into one (1) musical about german teens in the 1880s discovering sex
but also equally about the tragedy and failure of adults who don’t communicate with their children and thus doom them to tragedy due to their massive lack of knowledge and the general stigma around everything sexual in nature
that this show is still so relevant despite the fact that the original play was written in 1891 is wild
Now I’ve finished uni, do I finally finish my Wendla/Anna fic based on Sex by the 1975, or my Mortiz/Happiness fic based on Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush
I mean, sometimes you’ve just got to applaud Francois and Lance’s braincells because they literally have none.
There is a wedding between Francois and Juliet...so they invite May and Romeo who have both had a fling with Francois and Juliet respectively, to be a part of their boyband that’ll perform at the wedding
I haven’t seen the show though so this may be explained
hyperfixation is pacing around your bathroom in the middle of the night explaining the entire plot of the musical you already know everything about to your reflection in the mirror instead of sleeping for the third time that week even though its only a tuesday
Noel Gruber is so real for making his whole "please deem me worthy of revival" song about his imagined life as a french prostitute from the 1900s instead of, like, real legit reasons as to why he should keep on living. he's just like me fr I'd do the same fucking thing
