Be crazy and heartful of your own fortune
Amuse yourself and love your circumstances
Do not regret for a moment that you do not have much
Be satisfied with the few pennies that you possess
Seek who which seeks you in return
If such is not the case, seek within yourself
Flight is beautiful but without suffering and relying
Do not rely on others and be the wings of yourself
If you lived a hundred years you are still passing
Therefore, be thankful of every moment and year
Muhammad Iqbal -

What good is it to be unaware of each other’s state?
What good is it to mourn over each other’s grave?
Reach the call of those so long as they live.
Otherwise what good is it to pour water over their tomb?
If you didn’t visit their homes while alive
What good is it to visit the homes of the dead?
We are strangers to each other so long as we are living
What good is it to greet each other with kisses while mourning?
If you can, make a living person happy
What good is it to decorate the cemetery with flowers and perfume?
If you didn’t visit their homes while alive
What good is it to visit the homes of the dead?
If you do not ask me of me when I live
What good is it to cry and mourn (when I die)?
Know the value of the living so long as they live
Otherwise what good is it to wear black for the dead?
If you didn’t remember them so long as they lived
What good is to place a marble tombstone over their grave?

When my bier moveth on the day of death
Think not my heart is in this world.
Do not weep for me and cry “woe, woe!”
Thou wilt fall in the devil’s snare: that is woe
When thou seest my hearse, cry not, “gone, gone!”
Union and meeting are mine in that hour
If thou commit me to the grave, say not “Farewell, farewell”
For the grave is a curtain hiding the communion of paradise
After beholding descent, consider resurrection
Why should setting be injurious to the sun and moon?
To thee it seems a setting, but ’tis a rising’
Tho’ the vault seems a prison, ’tis the release of a soul
What seed went down into the earth but it grew?
Why this doubt of thine as regards the seed of man?
What bucket was lowered but it came out brimful?
Why should the Joseph of the Spirit complain of the well?
Shut thy mouth on this side, and open it beyond
For in placeless air will by thy triumphal song.

To a young man
Your sofas are from Europe, your carpets from Iran;
This slothful opulence evokes my sigh of pity.
In vain if you possess Khusroe’s imperial pomp,
If you do not possess prowess of Hazrat Ali (a.s) or contentment of Hazrat Salman (a.s).
Seek not thy joy or greatness in the glitter of Western life,
For in contentment lies a Muslim’s joy and greatness.
When an eagle’s spirit awakens in youthful hearts,
It sees its luminous goal beyond the starry heavens.
Despair not, for despair is the decline of knowledge and gnosis:
The Hope of a Believer is among the confidants of God.
Thy abode is not on the dome of a royal palace;
You are an eagle and should live on the rocks of mountains.

The human body is honored to have the soul of humanity
It is not beautiful clothes, that is a sign of humanity.
If being human was just about having eyes, mouth, ears and nose
Then what is the difference between wall patterns and the human who drew it.
Appetite, slumber, anger and lust cause sedition, corruption, ignorance and blindness
Wildlife does not know the world of humanity
Live with the reality of humanity or be like a bird
It is this bird that imitates the language of humanity
You’re not a human, if you are captive of a beast (nafs/desires)
Because even angels don’t have a way to the nest of humanity
If this savagery (animalistic traits) dies out of your nature
You will live with a human psyche the rest of your life
Mankind reaches a point where it sees nothing but God
Observe (see) how vast is the reach of humanity
Did you see the birds flight? O you, who are bound by lust
Free yourself, so you can see the humanity’s flight
I do not mean to express my virtues, as I give you advice
What we heard was a description of humanity from a human.

“Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him.”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

You go to the mosque for prostration and prayer,
If the head moves but not the heart, what gain is there?

"If you stick a knife in my back 9inches & pull it out 6inches there’s no progress. If you pull it all the way out there’s no progress. Progress is healing the wound. And they haven’t pulled the knife out, much less heal the wound. They won’t even admit the knife is there"

For some unknown reason everytime I see these photos of Nasir al-mulk Mosque, I can’t help but wonder about the beauty and the power of the human mind. When used with the right intent and pureness, it creates jaw dropping pieces of art, but at the same time if it’s led by greed and evil it leaves nothing but a path of destruction.

The stunning Nasir al-mulk Mosque hides a gorgeous secret between the walls of its fairly traditional exterior: stepping inside is like walking into a kaleidoscope of colors. Every day, the rays of the early morning sun shine through colorful stained-glass windows, transforming the halls into a dazzling wonderland of rich hues, patterns, and light that play on the floor of the mosque.
