hiii! I will start saying I love your fics very much and they help me a lot when I'm writing my own with all the English and grammar rules
my question is how can I find beta readers for eruri fics, because I feel more comfortable showing to people who like the shipp and if is there any place I could talk to them or it's just moots you find thought the internet 😭😭
Thank you so much! I'm glad you've found my fics useful :)
In terms of finding a beta, you could just try asking around the fandom. There's a very active Eruri writing community on twitter and I have seen people asking for betas there and getting lots of replies. Some of the folk there also run an Eruri writing discord called Devoted Hearts and writing event, EruriWriMo, which is a great way to meet other writiers. You can find out more about Devoted Hearts and EruriWriMo here: @EruriWriMo. I know there's an active Eruri fandom on TikTok too but I don't go there so I'm not sure if many writers hang out there. Don't be afraid to ask around, it's a very friendly fandom. Good luck!

How do you think Levi is doing post war regarding grief? I've seen a lot of people say he's happy and theiving, living his best life in peace and that it fits his character because he always moves on and fights and he wouldn't cry for decades or something lol. I just saw a lot of people completely dismiss the idea of him not being "happy" and having trouble adjusting to his new life without fighting and actually having time to grieve for the first time in his life, which i find questionable since he IS the most emotional character and always cared about remembering his friends, especially Erwin. I feel like grieve is portrayed pretty one dimensional though, like it doesn't have to look like just one way (like it can look like mikasa but it can also look like Levi who is still actively trying to help people) but i also think that grieve is a big part of Levi's character and we should talk about it! I'd be interested on your take about this though :)
Oh man I have a lot of thoughts about this.  I totally agree with everything you've said, however I can also understand people's reticence to dwell on grief, it's a difficult and overwhelming emotion. I know there are a lot of fans who want to believe that postwar Levi was able to live his best life, unencumbered by grief, and enjoying his freedom with Gabi and Falco.  And I also know that there are some fans who are really offended by the idea that Levi would spend the rest of his life grieving, never moving on from those he lost during the war. Certainly living a hollow, grief stricken life is a terrifying prospect, however grief isn’t that simple.  One of the best explanations of grief I’ve come across said that when you lose someone you love, you don’t just forget them, or replace them, time can never heal that wound or fill that void. However with time and patience your life can grow around that absence and expand to encompass new people, new love, new experiences.  The absence is always there, it becomes part of you, and your life continues to grow around it. I think Mikasa is actually a good example of that.  It’s clear that she continued to love Eren for the rest of her life, but that didn’t stop her from loving other people and going on to raise a family.  I don’t think she ever “moved on” from Eren, no one could ever replace him,  but I do think she was still able to find love in the world.  The Ackermans were fierce and constant in their love and their loyalty; both Mikasa and Kenny remembered their liege, their chosen person, to the end of their days, and I see no reason for Levi to be any different.  I believe Erwin’s absence would have left an indelible mark on Levi, and I don’t think anyone could ever replace him, however I also believe that Levi was able to forge a new found family with Gabi, Falco and Onyankopon and I hope he was able to end his days peacefully.
If you're interested, I've written several fics about Levi's life after the war that explore his grief for Erwin and his fallen comrades, and his new life with Gabi and Falco.

Why is the answer always "Levi said this Levi did this" whenever one asks about the signs of Eruri in canon? Levi's side is pretty clear, but every time I talk to an Eruri and I ask "but why do you think Erwin loved Levi" the answer is very long but it's mostly empty and just "I am sure he did" or "but Levi loved him so Eruri is canon". Sorry this isn't a "hehehe your ship is one sided it's not canon" type of question. It's more of a writing-wise question, since you are a writer yourself I thought you'd give the best answer to this.
I am wondering, is this because of lack of Erwin's pov in aot manga or anime? I know Erwin is important and plays an important role and story revolves around him in s3 p2 and all that but when you look at the bigger picture he's mostly just there. He's in the story but you don't see his pov. We don't get to see the inside of his head until the end. Is this why "does Erwin love Levi" question is a hot topic in aot fandom always? Or are there any side stories like smartpass aus that suggest Erwin had feelings for Levi? I'm sorry I don't know those very well I only know the manga and the anime.
Lastly, I am sure you answered this before but my question is very specific, do you actually believe it was mutual? After all it's fiction and you don't need their love to be mutual to ship them. People ship characters who barely interact. It's what fandom is and that's totally normal and valid. I guess I am wondering if you ever doubted, th ship or even yourself which I do a lot (in a "oh I love this so much and I read so much fics I made myself believe" way) Thanks I hope this doesn't sound rude or offensive, my English isn't very good so if I sound rude that must be it it's not my intention :)
Ooof there’s  a lot of different questions here but I think they boil down to the following:
Are Erwin and Levi’s feelings for each other mutual? / Does Erwin reciprocate Levi’s feelings?
Why do people question Erwin’s relationship to Levi?
Do I personally believe their relationship was mutual, and have ever “doubted the ship”?
I’ve answered the first question many, many times over the years. You can read all my various answers here.  In short I do think that Erwin reciprocated Levi’s feelings and I think the evidence is there in the manga, the official guidebooks, the Smartpass stories, and the side content for anyone who cares to see it. I’m not going to list all the side content here, but there’s a very old post by @erbeansandravioli that links to a lot of it: Eruri receipts.
As to why people question Erwin’s relationship to Levi, well that’s an interesting one.  Some people clearly just don’t get Erwin’s character (see the previous ask I just answered), they don’t understand his role in the plot or the significance of his relationship to Levi.  For example I’ve seen people arguing passionately that Levi’s vow had nothing to do with Erwin, which is just mind boggling to me. It’s certainly true that Erwin is a much harder character to read than Levi who very much wears his heart on his sleeve.  Erwin is more reserved, and holds his cards closer to his chest.  However the fact that Levi is the only one who he reveals his true self to is significant. Daisuke Ono put it beautifully when he said in an interview that the amplitude of Erwin’s feelings is so great that it can be hard to see.
It could also be that some, perhaps younger, readers just don’t recognise their relationship for what it is. It’s certainly not a typical shounen romance, but it is a deeply believable adult relationship; one that is based on mutual trust, respect and understanding. This is from a previous ask I answered on the subject:
It frustrates me enormously when people deny their canon relationship, despite Yams being at paints to explain it repeatedly in the guidebooks. I want to shake them and ask what the hell they think a relationship looks like when you’re an exhausted 30 + year old war veteran who has spent their entire life fighting for survival.  It looks like this; finding someone who you can trust with your life. If you were to ask me what characterizes a successful adult relationship I would say it’s exactly this; mutual trust, respect and understanding, and when push comes to shove, the willingness to do everything in your power to help the person you hold most dear, even if that means letting them go.
And as to whether I’ve ever doubted the ship, the answer to that would be no, never.  Sure we’ve never seen them swear undying love in canon (though some would argue with that and point to Erwin’s "Arigatō Levi".) I wrote this in response to an ask about Eruri canonicity:
Do you mean that you don’t believe they’re canon because we never see them kiss? Because they never marry?  Because the main focus of the story isn’t romance?  All those things are true, but in my opinion, they’re also not the only things that make a relationship canon.  Particularly when that relationship is between two war-weary 30 year old men who have been fighting for survival almost their entire lives. The irony is that, in some ways, Erwin and Levi’s relationship is actually quite conventional. They really do behave a bit like an old married couple.  They have a long standing relationship that has matured over many years, they have their own weird sense of humour, they’re not afraid to challenge each other, but they care about one another deeply, and they also trust each other unconditionally.  That’s all the canon evidence I need tbh.
Having said that, you are absolutely right that you don’t need any canon evidence to ship a couple.  Hell, I’ve had great fun written Hanji and Petra as a side ship and I don’t think they ever even interacted in canon.  In Erwin and Levi’s case though there is more than enough evidence in canon to attest to the significance of their relationship.
Hope this answers your questions.

Lost, I made my sister watch AoT just to see Erwin and now she's saying she doesn't understand how anyone could like him so much since to her he has no role in the story whatsoever and he's barely even present. I'm heartbroken and disappointed, in all honesty 😔
Really?? Erwin had “no role in the story whatsoever and was barely even present”? Are you sure she was watching the same show? Erwin is the catalyst that sets in motion many of the major plot mechanics of the first half of the series. Besides the small matter of overthrowing the government, and setting up Levi’s showdown with Zeke, how many times did he save Eren’s sorry ass? Sheesh.
There is an interesting point here though and it’s one that tsuki addressed recently in response to a very astute Anon who said
I don't think people understand what makes a major character. Some major characters might only appear intermittently but still have a profound impact on the plot and other characters. Their actions or influence can be felt even when they are not physically present, and they may have pivotal moments that shape the direction of the narrative. So if people wonder if Erwin is even a major character, they have to remember one thing: Who's actually pulling the strings in the first 3 seasons?
It’s worth reading the rest of this ask, because in terms of explaining Erwin’s role in the story, I honestly couldn’t have explained it better myself. I wonder if your sister fell into the trap of equating screen time with significance? In which case I’d argue that’s a media literacy issue. I should add that of course it’s fine to dislike Erwin as a character, he doesn’t float everyone’s boat and people will always have their own preferences, but to say that he has no role in the story is just plain wrong.

Do you have any recommendations for fics where Erwin is actively seeking Levi’s attention?
Tricky one. Usually the attraction tends to be mutual from the off. Here's a few that do feature Erwin actively seeking Levi's attention though.

Agree 100% with your answer here. I don't think it makes sense to compare Erwin and Levi's mental and physical sense, particularly when Isayama said they have a mutual and equal relationship. The point is that they complement each other; Erwin gives Levi a purpose, a cause to fight for, and Levi gives Erwin his strength and support.
I'd also add that Erwin never saw himself as being a hero, quite the opposite if anything. Levi on the other hand... well Levi didn't set himself up to be a hero in an egotistical sense, but Kenny wasn't wrong when he said that the thing that drove Levi on, the thing he was drunk on, was being a hero. Levi felt a deep responsibility to use his strength, to dedicate it to a cause, and Erwin gave him that cause.
Tumblr media
I think Levi's strength surpasses Erwin's not only physically but also mentally. Despite admiring Erwin, Levi overlooked the fact that he embodied the qualities he admired in him: selflessness, a dedication to humanity, and unwavering mental fortitude. In truth, Levi emerged as the true hero, not Erwin.
Hmm, while I might agree that Levi has the greater physical and possibly mental strength too, the thing was that Erwin gave him the thing he didn't know he was looking for: direction. As Kenny put it: there was something that saved him, that he found something to do.
So I think that even if Levi emerged as the true hero, I can't help but want to give a nod to all the people in our lives who help shape the people we are: mentors and the people who inspired us, in that "not all heroes wear capes" fashion.
But also, Levi eventually recognised Erwin's flaws, and rather than disappointment, was also the boost to guiding Erwin in the direction that he wanted to go but had gotten lost in, setting Erwin off on his final hero's journey. And I do think there's a nice symmetry in that.
Thank you for your ask! :)
