If I had a nickel for every time my favorite ships start with "ava", I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

One reason I can rest easy is knowing that they- the legends of tomorrow cast and crew- gave us their all.
They gave us such a diverse cast. They gave us queer and poc characters and storylines unapologetically.
They told us it was okay to say the word “lesbian”- it isn’t a bad word. They took the bury your gays trope and kicked its ass.
They told us that when they imagined a perfect woman- it was a lesbian.
They gave us Muslim characters who never compromised their beliefs.
They gave us redemption time after time again, they told us it was okay to change for the better and to believe in ourselves.
They gave us queer kisses that saved the world- twice! They gave us beebo. They gave us the waverider! They gave us a time moms wedding, pregnancy, and a baby- not necessarily in that order. They gave us the bullet blondes!!
They told us that it was okay to be affectionate with your bros.
They gave us healing and growth.
They gave us an asexual character who said the actual words!
They gave us an AI who taught us what it means to be human.
They gave us a family. They gave us love is love is love is love is love
They didn’t give us heroes- they gave us legends

HOLY FREAKIN SHIT
Star City knows her well. It holds her heart in its hands; her best days, her worst days, it knows the lengths of her. The day she leaves it, she hopes she’ll never have to come back.
//
Hey, so what happened was a while back I was reading one of my own stories and got nostalgic and inspired by a paragraph in it and wrote and entire fic steering from the concept of city remembering us after we leave. The story is complete so I’ll try to update regularly.
I know it’s been a while, so thank you very much for your patience if you’re still here and want to give this a shot. Enjoy <3

one thing you won't know until you experience it for yourself when you create art out of love is how it feels when people receive it with love. when you post a doodle and someone keeps it as their lockscreen, or when you write a story and someone tells you they were thinking about it all day, or when you post a poem and someone shares it with a touching caption. doesn't matter if it was objectively good or not. matters that someone spent time with it, that someone really, really liked it, and you made it. this kind of interaction, i think, it can really sustain you for weeks. it can sustain you through a lot of terrible things. its confirmation that you exist, and that (however briefly) your existence was appreciated by someone else through your art.

For good measure
“Ready to go?”
“Yea, just gotta put on my scarf and boots.”
“Here, let me,” Sara stepped closer to Ava after grabbing her scarf from the coat rack. With the height advantage thanks to her boots and Ava with no shoes on, they’re almost at the same height. She looped the scarf over Ava’s head and pulled her even closer. Holding Ava’s face in both of her hands, Sara stood on tiptoe while gently angling her wife’s face downward and placed a kiss on her forehead. As if a Sara brand forehead kiss wasn’t soft enough, she followed it with another kiss on Ava’s nose.
While Ava saw a gorgeous face full of love and affection beaming right at her as she raised her head and opened her eyes, what Sara saw instead was her beautiful wife with a tint of pink across her cheeks, blushing hard like a young schoolgirl who just saw her crush across the hallway. Bossy Ex-Director Sharpe who?.
After a minute of Sara staring lovingly at her wife’s face (I mean seriously, who can blame her.) without any hint of a follow up action, Ava put on her signature pout and the best puppy face she’s mastered before asking, “That’s it?”
All Sara could do to deal with her wife’s cuteness was to sigh and shake her head fondly, before giving her a slightly lingering kiss. As she pulled away, she whispered into the close to none space between Ava and her, “For good measure.”
