there's just something about old people and creating busy work for themselves my grandma is a packrat she hoards literally every thing so in an attempt to claim to "clean" things she wants to go into her closet pull everything out just to put it all back in and shes roping me into it shes been trying to clean her downstairs area for months and hasnt really succeded in that and now she wants to make even more of a mess and take every thing shes shoved into her closet out and put it back in and it annoys me she claims she wants to organize it...ok... or you could just leave it alone its not like shes going to throw it away so its honestly all a giant waste of my time

a ramble about queen of tears

if you come across this there is no proper grammar or punctuation. sorry about that, not really though.

I just genuinely dont understand why haein is so upset that hyunwoo would want a divorce like the way that they were barely even communicating, they werent happy, and her family treated him terribly and speaking of her family they wouldnt have lost their fortune if they had actually valued hyunwoo like if they had treated him like a family member and not some random man that haein married they wouldve been at least a little more cautious of eunseong bc hyunwoo had been warning them and telling them to make sure they do things correctly and they just keep ignoring him and being suspicious of the wrong person hyunwoo has been apart of that family for three years and at the first sign of something wrong they immediately turn their backs on him without even a second thought hes been working so hard at that company and they still didnt take him seriously and the grandpa pisses me off even more bc you believed some two bit bitty over your daughter AND son-in-law and she's been telling you something isnt right with that woman like he lowkey deserved to be scammed like this hell all of them with the exception of beomja deserved to be scammed like this the way they treated him was terrible especially that icky ass mother-in-law she definitely getting what she deserves bc not only is she terrible to hyunwoo shes also terrible to her own daughter like to blame your child for the death of your other child is down right diabolical shes a nasty woman she deserves this downfall and i dont even feel bad for soocheol losing his family hes an idiot that lacks critical thinking and he shouldve stopped his mom from treating his sister badly like he saw the way that woman was treating his sister and he was like at least its not me hello that is your sister and she didnt do anything but survive she cant take back what happened to their older brother and she wasnt in control of that situation either like she was just as likely to drown as her brother was only he managed to save her and die in her place

and going back to haein being upset with hyunwoo wanting to divorce her i just think it's also interesting bc while yes she loved him she did things behind his back so while we the audience knows that she broke down crying after the miscarriage of the baby and we know that she defended him when her family treated him bad (its been three years so we dont know if she was doing that the whole time or just recently started doing that) hyunwoo didnt know that so hyunwoo thought he was all alone to fend for himself to heal himself from the lost of their child and thats what gets me like yea you can say well he shouldve comforted her but how was he supposed to know she was breaking down crying when all hes seeing is her on a business phone call acting like she didnt just go through something traumatizing and how was he supposed to know that she was defending him when she'd let her family talk to him that way to his face and she would just stare ahead like they werent berating him he isnt a mind reader he cant and wont know her intentions if she doesnt display what shes intending to do and no im not blaming haein i get it people shut down and hyunwoo shouldve been more effective in communicating his feelings to her he shouldve sat her down and told her how certain things were making him feel but how can he do that if she also yells at him he was stepping on eggshells to not only appease her but also to appease his family-in-law idk it makes perfect sense to me why he'd want to divorce her

but with that said ik they love each other and honestly if by the end of this series and haein is still alive i really do hope that the two go into marriage counseling bc they cant communicate to save a life their whole marriage wouldve been fine if they had just sat down and talked to each other heck they mightve even been parents already if they had did that but instead they let it build between them and fester until resentment came and it's just crazy to me and again im not blaming haein im just looking at this from hyunwoo's perspective bc if it were me i'd feel the exact way nobody is a mind reader dont expect people to just know how you feel about them or a situation yes people have their different ways of showing love and affection and what not but every once in a while you have to show them how you feel and how certain things are affecting you and yea this goes for hyunwoo (even though again i think he was scared of her reaction to him telling her how he felt about things so..idk) but anyways so excited for this weeks episodes and im so happy that they both still want to be together so once they start actually communicating with each other (hopefully sometime soon) they'll think about getting back together they may even have a baby and i think that haeins family are going to start appreciating everything hyunwoo does for the family after this and actually treats him like a family member and not treat him like a random man off the streets of seoul lol and theyll care about the hyunwoo's family as well

Queen of Tears is so interesting cause i've never dealt with two really complex leads like this in romcom (i mean it is funny)

i've said it before but Haein and Hyunwoo know each other very well but don't know each other at all (i don't know if i've ever seen communication issues this bad).

Losing the baby clearly drove them a part. She blamed herself and put up high walls. He wears his heart on his sleeve and cried over it. We can argue that he should've comforted her in that moment but at the same time she clearly knew he was upset so why didn't she go to him? Haein thought she had no right to grieve and consequently Hyunwoo thought she didn't grieve at all. The moment where they needed each other more than ever- the moment they should've been together they both fucked up and moved a part.

The core of the issue is that they can't read each other's mind, this is literally said at the beginning of 6- they love each other dearly but also tripping over each in the process.

Outside of Hyunwoo jumping up and down at her diagnosis and faking his way into her will (which was painfully cruel and soooo funny) It's very clear that this is a two person game. Although I always interpreted Hyunwoo's joy as the same as the mistress of a wealthy man who is just waiting for him to die so she can get the money, (it's mean but most times the master either sucks or he's naive as hell and she has no reason to mourn) and at that point Hyunwoo's in the same situation.

Why didn't Haein defend him in front of her relatives? Why scold him publicly in front of the employees? She does a lot of things behind the scenes but good intentions can only go so far if object of those affections is ignorant of the full story. The same thing happens in episode 6, she is trying to protect Hyunwoo from her family but without telling him so he is ignorant of the big picture. Why wasn't Hyunwoo honest with his feelings, why is he always assuming the worst when she never explicitly says something. We see he tries to talk to her (it fails) but his fear of upsetting her leads him to do otherwise cruel things to keep her happy.

Which is also why the divorce paper is so interesting. That paper was one of the best things he done. He was completely justified in writing that. It breaks Haein's heart but severing ties like that was way healthier than him forcing himself to stay in this marriage and pamper her with fake love.

One thing I will admire this piece for is the role reversal, like i'm seeing so many typical fl tropes on Hyunwoo and ml tropes on Haein. You ever read one those isekai or time reverse manwha's were the fl goes back in time to get a divorce but falls in love with her partner again? yeah this is the same exact thing.

man my grandma been trying to go to the damn post office for three hours its taken her three hours to get ready to go to the post office i came home at 1 it now 3 going on 4 like it should never take anyone this long to go somewhere shes taken a shower used the bathroom like 4 times and just struck up a phone call like maam its the damn post office just go like shes finally about to leave like girl it takes her so long to do just about anything and like i understand shes older but a shower and getting your packages together should never result in you taking three hours to go somewhere anywhere and she does this with any task she'll skip meals bc it even takes her a long time to make herself something eat its crazy

i love queen of tears. i love it. im so intrigued about how they fell out of love bc there is clearly a time where they were in love like so in love she went to him in a helicopter when hyunwoo found out she was actually an heiress about to take over the company like she loved him at least enough to go after him so what happened between them getting married to three years later and they can barely even sleep in the same room together heck theyre getting flustered at the thought of some skin showing like i just need to know. was it haein that changed for after they married? or was it hyunwoo that changed first? did it all start to change when hyunwoo went to her home for the first time and realized that her family didnt like him and she didnt step up for him? has haein alway stood up for him without him knowing after her family would attack him directly? like these are things i have to know for my well being. thats why i have to keep watching and see where this is going to go. i know the two are going to fall in love again we already see it coming and they may have never really fell out of love there could've just been some pent up resentment from the lack of communication in the relationship and the fact that haein wasnt really being open to him and stuff like that so theyll def fall back in love but does haein die in the end is this going to be a tragedy and im going to end up crying in the end like im so excited the only thing i dont really look forward to is when haein finds out hyunwoo wanted a divorce bc thats going to be annoying its like yea it makes sense that he'd want one you guys were barely a married couple and your family was treating him like poopoo and you were just sitting there watching it happen and its like yea he couldve defended himself but 1. hes in these people's house this isn't his home (he lives there but this isn't something he owns) and 2. it would be 3 (4) against 1 bc haein clearly wasnt step in if it got down to it like clearly she wasnt defending him for the first 3 years of their marriage bc if she was im certain hyunwoo would be a lot more affectionate to her maybe not in love with her but def wouldve felt something towards her other than disdain like idk

also haein's brother's wife not liking him is gold idk what her end goal is (although she mightve already met her goal which is secure a rich man) but all i know is that shes interesting she acts all sweet and innocent acting like she cant handle/doesnt like alcolhol and then downs they rest of the drink and manipulating her husband into thinking he drank it all and is now drunk like what is she up to she might be a gold digger as well bc why would she marry this man if she clearly doesnt really like him like you could kind of see it in her face when he got up to use the restroom. oh and the grandfathers mistress ooooo that lady got something up her shaman using sleeve for sure theres something that woman has planned i bet shes going to try and convince that man to give her the company instead of leaving it to his children and grandchildren or shes going to try and get a ring on her finger so she can get some of that dough when that old man croaks like she not slick she a gold digger and the fact that none of the kids outside of the old mans daughter(the aunt that was in jail) isnt clocking her is crazy to me they dont like hyunwoo but they arent actively trying to get that woman away from their dad/grandpa its crazy. and whats up with haeins mother not liking her but liking her son more like her son is not suitable to be running a company and i dont think shes trying to make him run the company but if she is she needs to bffr right now
