MF Day #60: Trumpsy

My personal favorite mixel from the Mixies group. Trumpsy’s design is perfect, it looks like a giant trumpet had been fused inside his head. And the way his head was crafted is so clever, with the puffed up cheeks, the small tube for a mouth. It’s a shame the he didn’t get much screen time in the show as he probably should, being yet another case of missed potential. There’s some information from the official mixels website that Trumpsy’s style of music originated from Mix Orleans(the mixel equivialent to New Orleans) where the music genre jazz was discovered. This seems pretty fitting for the trumpet-nosed character as trumpets are naturally used in several types of jazz music. And being a huge jazz fan myself, this just makes me like the character even more, helping to exemplify Trumpsy’s freeform music playing nature, as that is what jazz music is all about. This mixel speaks out jazz volumes so much, that I even have a special guest who feels perfectly in tune with his music.

MF Day #57: Jamzy

Just when you think the LEGO team were running out of ideas for fun and unique Mixel tribes, they struck gold again…A band of living instrument mixels! If that’s not one of the coolest concepts Mixels has ever come up with then I don’t know what is! The Mixies being a group of musical mixels had a ton of great potential and possibilities, and I’m disappointed that the show didn’t do much with it.

It’s an idea so good that you could create even more Mixies mixels based off of other instruments. Heck that’s exactly what the designers did at one point, created a whole bunch of cool looking background Mixies characters that were never used in the show; thus, proving my point of how imaginative this concept is!

But anyways, let us bring our attention to the main Mixies group, starting with Jamzy. Being a living guitar, I’d imagine him as an upbeat and energetic band leader. I’ve had personal experience with being part of a school band, and it always felt so vibrant and alive thanks to our band leader’s passion for music. So having someone who has a similar passion for music to voice Jamzy would be very fitting. And Cree Summer was a pretty welcomed choice, as many of her music would involve using some type of Guitar for the melody.

If this character was used more throughout the show I probably would've liked him more, but as is Jamzy is still a pretty solid mixel.

Ok ok, little headcanon time

I believe that characters/furious four will be named after their voice actors, ((e.g Jim Cummings = Jim Starling/Negaduck)) therefore in the original Darkwing Duck show Michael Bell voice acted as Quackerjack so in Ducktales 2017 the actor/character who played Quackerjack would probably be called Michael Bill

Darkwing Duck reboot ideas

I’ve been thinking about what could happen in a Darkwing Duck reboot series for a while now (and seeing some art on Twitter got me thinking even more)

What if the actors that played the Fearsome Four in the TV series on Ducktales were the reverse situation of what happened with Jim Starling? Instead of being jerks, they’re total sweethearts.

[Yes I’m going to make their actor last names puns on their original voice actor’s names]

Megavolt (AKA Dan Capybara)

*Still works in the film industry but more behind the scenes.

*Very introverted and takes a while to trust others.

*Dislikes Jim Starling very much.

*Demisexual. Was in a relationship with Quackerjack’s actor but he broke up with him after an accident caused the Darkwing Duck TV series to end. He still loves him but is angry with him at the same time.

*Works on inventions on the side when he isn’t working on films.

Quackerjack (AKA Michael Bill)

*Switches between acting on TV and in theater since he loves acting so much.

*Openly gay

*Loves the Quackerjack role so much and sometimes dresses as him to visit kids in the hospital and give them toys.

*Still loves Megavolt’s actor and wants to get back together with him.

Bushroot (AKA Toni Incana)

*Did the occasional acting gig when he was younger but after Darkwing Duck ended, he retired quietly and went to work at the St. Canard University Library.

*Is very shy but friendly if you take the time to get to know him.

*Is still dating Liquidator’s actor to this day and they live together. They instantly clicked while on the set for the show.

*Bisexual

*Was very scared of Jim Starling when on set for Darkwing Duck. He tried to avoid him when they weren’t going over lines or fight choreography.

Liquidator (AKA Jack Alaunt)

*Did commercial work on the side to work his way up in the acting world.

*Was very protective of Bushroot’s actor when he met him and saw how temperamental Jim Starling could be. This led to them becoming friends and eventually dating.

*Very extroverted and loves people.

*Still does commercial gigs to this day which pay very well.

*Pansexual.

MF Day #55: Kuffs

2016 was the year when the Mixels craze started to die down a little, at least in the Cartoon Network/LEGO department. And that’s probably because there were other cartoons/toys made at the time that overshadowed the Mixels series. The specials made in that year were also pretty lackluster compared to what we’ve had before. They weren’t anything bad, but they didn’t exactly serve as the most epic conclusions to the show, as a lot more could’ve been done with it. But regardless of all that, the team still pushed through to experiment around and create some freshly new and fun additions to the Mixels lineup. And it had a pretty solid start with wave 7, which I personally think is the best of 2016, because it has the one that had most fun ideas and designs. Continuing from where the Weldos constructed, the MCPD was one of the first tribes to be found during the Mixopolis era. And Kuffs is a pretty cool looking police mixel, being yet another one of the big armed designs. But instead of being a rehash of someone like Krader or Kamzo, this one was done with purpose. Not only to indicate his role as the chief, but also to represent the right arm of the law.

I made my own Mix of Mixels after Dribbal, Snoof, and Burnard Mondo Mix/Leader Mondo Mix…

Magnifo, Dribbal, and Rokit Mix (Voiced by Griffin Burns) - Known as Dr. Timethy, the mixed Mixel who have a staff as it combined of Dribbal's magnifying glasses as top of it, Magnifo's magic wands as middle of it, and Rokit's laser guns as bottom of it while double rod weapons were combined into a big staff which means it make a double-sized, they’ve a physical, mystical, and technological skills of past, present, and future. He’s so loyal, tough, smart, helpful, heart, and eccentric to good Mixels as they protect Mixels from hate and sadness as he’s really good talent mostly dance, sing, and craft. The Mix is controlled by Magnifo while his/their voice is Dribbal’s voice with Magnifo’s voice tone and Rokit’s sound tone.

Mix’s personality is the same as Neon J. from No Straight Roads.

Wow! Nice reference, I love that! He's my most favorite of 81 Main Mixels, Series 6, and Glorp Corp! He's voiced by Jeff Bennett as same to Gurggle, Jinky, and Camillot as he's only one doesn't have an accent of Jeff Bennett's Main Mixels as Jeff voiced to another character with glasses and smart/introvert personality. Plus, his personality is little same to Chilbo. That's pretty nice which Dribbal is more speaking than Chilbo in the episode as I respect that as I headcanon about Know-It-All Duo as they're best friends which I loved them...

Also, my favorite quote of him

Dribbal: I guess we can use mine... I was saving it for someone special!

He seem feels little nervous about that as take support to others as little added his personality, I loved that.

MF Day #53: Dribbal

I’ll be honest, I’m not really the biggest Dribbal fan. It’s not that I don’t like him, I still think he’s fine looking mixel that you could make some cool mixes out of. But despite those cool looking magnifying glasses, not much about Dribbal stands out to me, and is a bit plain compared to all the other Glorp Corp members. He also does feel like a rehash of Glomp from the original group with the runny nose, but thankfully Dribbal’s overall design doesn’t bare much of a resemblance.

I apologize to anyone who really likes this character, I honestly don’t know if I’m missing something with guy. I just don’t have any high thoughts about Dribbal, either positive or negative. But for what it’s worth, I don’t think he’s a bad looking Mixel at all, even the weaker mixels I think are at the very least well made.

MF Day #50: Slusho

I think out of all the new Glorp Corp members, Slusho is the one who stands out the most. I really like how the design utilizes whatever those transparent green pieces are for his wings that are dripping with slime. That’s both a clever way to push Slusho’s personal goal to soar high in skies despite his limitations, and a real fit in for the swampy areas that the Glorp Corp inhabit.
