Oh, I've watched this in Netflix, and I was astounded and overwhelmed by Richard's great actings! It was incredible!! And I was just jumping like a child, when I saw our familiar face, Thorin!!
I enjoyed quite a lot though.

First Snow Day (Thranduil x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Modern!Reader in Middle-Earth sees snow for the first time in their life.
Tags:Fluff
Word count:890
A/N: I really missed writing for Thranduil and I wanted to do something about it. I never saw snow in my life (only on the TV and pics) and I seeing snow is definitely one of my dreams. So I wondered how would be my reaction seeing snow for the first time but in Middle-Earth. I wrote this now, so, sorry for any mistakes.
The first ray of sunshine illuminated your chambers. You woke up with the clarity and the first thing you saw was a peaceful Thranduil sleeping by your side.
You yawned and stretched your arms, stopping for a while and staring an empty wall. You shivered with the cold wind of the winter entering your room and glared at the window, getting up to open the soft curtains completely.
You walked soundlessly, not to wake up your husband. If there was one thing you loved about this place was definitely the view in the morning. You missed your old life, but nothing could be compared with the beauty and peace of this place.
You grabbed the curtain and opened slowly, so your eyes wouldn't hurt much with the glow of the Sun. When you were finally able to look outside, you gave a squeak of surprise. Your hands made their way to cover your mouth and your eyes opened wide. You couldn't believe what you were seeing.
Snow.
It was snowing. Right in front of you. There was snow falling from the sky and snow on the ground.
You opened a big smile, and this was the only reaction you could have at this point, still not believing what was happening. You always remembered wanting to see snow back in your world, seeing all those movie scenes and photos of snow. It was your dream to see it one day. And this day arrived.
You finally decided to react to the fantastic scene in front of you. You ran back to the bed, jumping on it and waking Thranduil up.
"Meleth, meleth wake up!" But you got no reaction. You shook him and pulled out the blankets, and he was slowly waking up.
"WAKE UP!" You yelled and when he finally opened his eyes he saw a cheerful Y/N on top of him smiling like never before.
"Y/N?! What happened?" You grabbed his hands, prompting him to get up and he did. He was very slow do you pulled him out of bed the way you could and ran with him to the window.
"LOOK!" You said, pointing the landscape in front of you. Thranduil raised an eyebrow and smirked, amused by your reaction. In all these months you've been in Middle-Earth you've never been so happy.
"Look at what, meleth nin?" He asked, tightening his hand on yours.
"What do you mean what? It's snowing, Thranduil! It's snowing!" He chuckled and pulled you for a hug, which you gave him back but still staring outside.
"Ahhh, can we go there? Please? Pretty please?" You said with your voice loud. Thranduil gave you a thinking look and stood silent for a moment.
"I don't know..." He grabbed his chin with his free hand.
"Please with gummy bears? The gold ones? Even if I don't have them anymore..." you whispered the last phrase, and he laughed at your comment. He scooped you up, hugging you tightly and you kept looking outside.
"We can go if you give me a kiss, you know I think I-" He couldn't finish the phrase, for basically in one second your lips met his for a sloppy kiss and he gladly kissed you back.
When you broke the kiss, your smile was even bigger and now you looked directly at him, with puppy eyes ready to ask again. But you didn’t have to.
"We can go outside. But dress yourself with something warm, I don't want you freezing in the snow." You jumped from his hold, straight ahead to your wardrobe and grabbed all the winter clothes you had. You looked like a child but you didn’t care, all you wanted to do was to go out.
When you both were finally ready, you left arriving at the door after a few seconds. You stared one more time and stepped outside, taking a bit of the snow on your hands, and you smiled again, your eyes widened showing your excitement. It was then when something hit you.
A snowball.
You looked at the direction that it came and you saw Thranduil laughing at you.
You wasted no time and made a snowball, throwing it at him. He furrowed and you burst out laughing.
You both passed the day outside, not caring about anything. Just throwing snowballs at each other and you tried to make a snow-elf but you discovered that you could not make the ears, so you simple placed sticks on its head to tell it was Thranduil.
At the end of the day you went back to your chambers; you shivering in cold but Thranduil looked completely normal. You sneezed and coughed. Then you remembered you were a human and could get sick, differently from Thranduil.
"Meleth, I think we spent too much time outside..." you could feel the worry on his voice, but you gave a soft laugh.
"No, we didn't. Don't worry I'll be fine! This was the best day of my life, Thranduil." You said cheerfully. You ate a warm soup and went to bed. Thranduil cuddling with you and placing small kisses on your head.
Your eyes started to feel heavy, and you were tired. Thranduil placed you back on your side and covered you with the blankets. The last thing you felt was a soft kiss on your lips and a goodnight whispered on your ear.
On that night you had good dreams, memories of all happy moments you had on that day. You couldn't be happier.

MASTERLIST
In simplest terms, being a Ranger of the North could be hard. In less simple terms, it’s the down pour of cold rain that drenches you to the bone, it’s the freezing hail that burns at your skin, and it’s the wicked winds that force your body backwards. All of these struggles, all of this pain—is it really worth killing a couple vile beasts born of darkness?
Yes. Yes, it is.
Therefore, when Strider, as annoying as he was, requested that (Y/N) come with him to examine the rising numbers of goblins throughout the Misty Mountain’s she obliged.

Hi! Do you have any tips on making the scene emotional, I want to be able to move and touch my readers with my writing but it's really hard when I don't understand emotions and feeling and I'm usually a thinker but I really want to make my my reader feel sadness and grief with my character. So any tips for that? Or do I have to keep practicing? Hope you have a nice day! Thank you! Your blog helps me alot!
Hi :)
I’m a very empathetic person. I can get kinda cold if the emotions involve myself, but if it’s about other people or fictional characters, I soak those emotions up like a sponge. I can get really into all the emotional aspects of writing, so I’m not sure how to do it if you don’t understand the emotions that well, because it comes so natural to me. I will try to give a general overview of how to write emotional scenes, but if someone else can give some other advice, it’s greatly appreciated!
How to write emotional scenes
Focus on showing, not telling:
don’t just say the character is afraid or panicking
write the actions that would let an onlooker know
hands trembling, pulse and breathing picking up, frantic eye movement,...
if you describe it well enough, the reader will feel those things too
Dialogue:
of course, dialogue is still important
but I would keep it shorter than in other scenes
don’t make it too emotional or it can appear sappy
exception: motivational speeches
think about the difference between showing and telling
are the characters trying to conceal how they really fell by saying something else?
Make the reader relate:
relating to a character makes the reader much more empathetic to them and it creates emotions in them
so try to get the reader to sympathize with your character by showing their journey and their goals
but if you want to have a rival in that scene, do the exact opposite
make the reader unsympathetic to that character to make them feel anger towards them or satisfaction if they get defeated
Heavy scenes:
there is a difference between an emotional scene and a truly traumatic experience
you don’t want the reader to feel the full range of human trauma
if the reader is getting too emotional, it could keep them wanting to continue reading
so in extremely emotional scenes try to show the overall picture
don’t go into specific feelings, but try to show how this affects your character as a whole
you can even try to make the scene feel more distant, almost numb and devoid of deep emotions if the reader already knows how traumatic this would be for the character
sometimes this could affect them even better than showing all the emotions because they can create their own emotions
always remember: you want to pull at your reader’s heartstrings - not break anything
Hope you have a nice day as well and good luck with your writing!

"In a great cave some miles within the edge of Mirkwood on its Eastern side there lived at this time their greatest king. Before his huge doors of stone a river ran out of the heights of the forest and flowed on and out into the marshes at the feet of the high wooded lands. This great cave, from which countless smaller ones opened out on every side, wound far underground and had many passages and wide halls; but it was lighter and more wholesome than any goblin-dwelling, and neither so deep nor so dangerous. In fact the subjects of the king mostly lived and hunted in the open woods, and had houses or huts on the ground and in the branches. The beeches were their favourite trees. The king’s cave was his palace, and the strong place of his treasure, and the fortress of his people against their enemies."

TO EVERYONE SAYING THEY'RE INSECURE ABOUT THEIR WRITTING:
I've been seeing a lot of people reposting their insecure about their writting and its really sad because ik for a FACT most of you write BEAUTIFULLY. So I just wanted to send some motivation because writting is hard, and writers deserve love. You guys are literally creating ENTIRE REALITIES with your imaginations . Wether it be fan ficts, short story writers, etc., You are giving us a key into experiencing the world from a different perspective. Your craft is an escape, your craft is inspiring. Its always good to want to be better, but please appreciate the work you're doing RIGHT NOW. It may not seem like much, but your stories are so much more than just words in a page. Its the adventure we never experienced, its the worlds we never got to see. Writers please, whatever you write, I want to assure you today it IS good enough. Because you bled your thoughts into the page, because you were brave enough to create. Writting doesnt have to be perfect, for perfection is nothing but a myth, writting just needs to exist. Insecurity is normal but let me tell you today, your writting is worth it, your ideas are worth it, your work is worth it.
Writers, keep your heads high, continue to poor your soul into your words and know you never have to punish yourself for creating
Much love for all of you
