As always, I loved the latest chapter of Those Gentle Slopes!!
I was wondering, do you think if Ciel were to become a demon that his rank would even be higher than sebastian just because of how much the other demons fear Seb and how protective/obsessed he is with Ciel? Like all the other demons would be scared of messing with Ciel because they know Sebastian would rip them apart and so everyone treats him with the same or even more respect than they do to Sebastian.
Idk, I can’t stop thinking that Seb would most probably still be crazy in love with Ciel and he would protect him from everything and everyone, even knowing that he doesn’t need it anymore. What do you think?
Thank you, I'm so glad to hear this! And thanks for a great question. Here's a post about how the hierarchy of demons works in my story, if you're interested and haven't seen it yet.
With Ciel, it will be both like you described and not really! In terms of status as in ranking, Ciel won't have a high one. Technically, any person could ask to be turned into a demon, and they cannot receive a high status because they are not true-born. Turned demons cannot correspond to the level of born demons. So, in TGSTLTH, humans-turned-demons take the lowest position in Hell, but they don’t have enough time to understand it because they are killed almost instantly. Other demons despise them and eagerly hunt them. Demons who turned these humans gladly murder them out of spite the moment their contract ends.
Ciel would stand few chances on his own at the start, but he’ll indeed be protected by Sebastian, who holds a high status. This dynamic will be so fun to write about because Ciel is definitely going to turn his nose up at everyone, driving all the important demons mad in their frustration :D Eventually, he'll make a name for himself outside of Sebastian's smothering protection.
There was a person who suggested another interesting scenario: that Hannah might have transferred her status to Ciel as she chose to turn him and die. I've been contemplating it because it'd open so many possibilities. First, she has a considerable rank, and Ciel would love it. Most importantly, she seemed to be some kind of succubus. Imagine Sebastian's reaction to Ciel becoming this type of demon :D He'd lose his marbles upon realizing it. Ciel himself, in turn, might not be comfortable with it as well, with his trauma, but it could be interesting to explore, too. So I'm still deciding on which way to go.
But as swiftly as Ciel’s relief came, it was replaced with absolute dread when his eyes finally landed on their distinguished guest. Someone who's silhouette he recognized immediately, even from behind, because that was how Ciel had first seen him.
The handsome man from the funeral procession.

I should have asked this earlier, but may I use one of your fanart in my sebaciel fanfiction? With giving you credit of course. I already gave you credit for it. (Just a few days ago, because I didn’t know from who it was and when I did know I didn’t have time to change it. But I did have ‘not my art’ written under it. But now you do have credit.) So may I use your art? If I don’t have your permission I shall delete it from my fanfiction.
I’m talking about this piece in particular.
Hello! I don't mind if you use one of my sebaciel arts in your fanfiction since you credit me properly. I would be happy if you could add a link to my Pixiv account too and If you send me the link to your fanfiction. I would like to read it :)

At 40, Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, walked through the park in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll. She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully. Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her.
The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter "written" by the doll saying "please don't cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures."
Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka's life.
During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable.
Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned. “It doesn't look like my doll at all," said the girl.
Kafka handed her another letter in which the doll wrote: "my travels have changed me." the little girl hugged the new doll and brought her happy home.
A year later Kafka died. Many years later, the now-adult girl found a letter inside the doll. In the tiny letter signed by Kafka it was written:
"Everything you love will probably be lost, but in the end, love will return in another way."
