one of the consequences of using the term "yaoi" to describe memes about gay people, is that i genuinely think alot of people think "yaoi" just means "gay pairing" when like it's, it's own specific sub-culture/genre with it's own tropes, because the entire joke about "old man yaoi" is that most of your standard bl is kind of. incapable with fatness or oldness, like if you showed a 2007 fujo disco elysium gay art i think they'd throw a little bit.

just something that's helped me that may be helpful for you too.

Treat yourself like a three-year-old. wouldn't take a three year old somewhere for a few hours without a water bottle and snacks, pack some for yourself. Wouldn't take them to something loud without headphone or earplugs, bring some for you. It's going to be really long and boring, but you aren't expected to have lots of social interaction, pack yourself activities or fidget toys.

It's really just a different way to think about actually accommodating yourself and your needs, just treat yourself the way you would a kid your babysitting with the same needs as you.

happy hanukkah to those celebrating but particularly to those struggling to celebrate bc of what is being done in their name. u don't have to answer for it but i know it can be hard to reconcile sadness and community, and u r not alone in this. in better times all our celebrations will be unmarred.

i'm seeing people losing hope for palestine i'm begging you seriously please don't. the death toll is high but there are still people alive, there are still journalists risking everything to make sure the world sees what is happening. please continue protesting if you have the option to, keep demanding for a ceasefire and keep talking about palestinians both alive and dead. you have to keep going until the very end or else you really did fail them.
