Headcanon

People unironically ship Mor and Emerie, because you know, Emerie saw her and BLUSHED, and Gwyn and Azriel, because you know, he cocked his brow at her, but when it comes to Lucien and Vassa, apparently there isn't 'enough evidence'. Lucien who chose to forgo Prythian, who chose to live in the Human Lands, who declined Feyre's invitation to live in the NC, who rejected her offer of an apartment, who opted not to stay and woo his mate, but decided that he would rather live with another woman, for whom he trapeised the Continent for--that's not evidence of a romance. 'They are just roommates'. But Emerie and Mor are mates!

I know we all have different ship preferences but like…Elain’s powers? Azriel’s mysterious shadows? Spy intrigue? Lucien’s spellcleaving? Vassa’s curse? Koschei the Deathless? The queens who betrayed Vassa? Chosen bonds over forced ones?

These four are breaking curses, reclaiming kingdoms, defeating Death, retelling fairytales, have true love trumping mating bonds…it's all this potential, I tell you. The potential for not just epic romances but the story, the plot that will only enhance the romance...chefs kiss.

Lucien: is living with Vassa, keep gushing about her, Vassa is exactly his type and he makes Koschei his enemy because he put a curse on her.

Azriel: risks his life to save Elain, figures out that she's a seer when even her mate couldn't, spends time with her, follows Elain's laughter and is miserable because she isn't his mate.

(This is a very random post, but something I just noticed.)

Jurian crossed an ankle over a knee, his muddy boots dull in the firelight. “Last I heard, your kingdom was no longer yours. Are you still a queen?”

This does not sound like something you would say to someone you were living with and seeing on the daily. It sounds like something you'd say to someone you haven't seen in awhile, or knew little. Which makes me wonder if Jurian actually travels quite a bit, leaving Lucien and Vassa at the manor.

It always amuses me when people try to convince themselves that Lucien isn't hot, because of all the characters, I'm pretty sure his beauty has been described the most. Besides, the King of Hybern called him handsome. You know if your sworn enemy is complimenting you that you're the top dog daddy big boy whore slutty sexiest male in Prythian.

I'm willing to accept a fair critique of Lucien. But the thing is, I'm yet to find a single flaw in him.

The son of the Spell-Cleaver falling for a cursed Queen. The Lord of Fire and the Bird of Flame. The Fae male who once held a strong prejudice against humans finding love with one. An emissary of many courts and the advocate for the humans uniting the two species in everlasting peace.

I’m probably being delulu but I have my own personal headcanon that Lucien’s infamous line in ACOTAR previews how he might feel for the cursed firebird.

If only he could give Vassa the moon on a string, so she could remain human.

“A queen by night, and firebird by day, sold by her fellow human queens to a sorcerer-lord who had enchanted her. Damned her into transforming each dawn into a bird of fire and ash.”

Ok, so i am pretty sure I just got blocked for bringing this up to a gwynriel, but why does everyone think that Gwyn or even the valkyries are gonna be involved with the Koschei storyline? Like has everyone forgotten about Vassa? She is literally still cursed by Koschei. And she is tied to Lucien, who is the son of a curse breaker. Can everyone else see the vision of them and how they can help the inner circle defeat Koschei? Imagine, Elain is Made and helps Nesta and Az with all this trove stuff and finding Koschei and all that. Elain and Az grow closer and choose each other but she has to do something about her bond with Lucien, real or not, they have to answer to it. They both agree to reject it and he goes back to Vassa and Jurian. This would leave it open for Lucien and Vassa to be together because he obviously has a better time with her already. This would allow the inner circle, now complete with the 3 brothers x 3 sisters, to work with Lucien and Vassa, who has every right to be the first one to fight Koschei (its for her freedom, hello?!). Like, bringing in just Gwyn and Emerie literally makes no sense when you think about the acowar and everything. And with everything that we learned in hofas, its obvious that shes setting up elriel, which would set up vassien. I just don't see how the valkyries fit it as main characters for the next books. Call me crazy or whatever, but I choose to remember the first 4 books in the series, not just silver flames.

I don't know, am I crazy? lol

Am I not understanding the story i've loved so much for nearly 10 years now?
