With time we are exposed to more and more experience. We soak it in and try to arrange it so they make sense. Sometimes we might feel like we exploded if we would let in anything new. But by letting go of old stuff we can find energy to grow again and rearrange to make sense...
i cannot emphasise enough how much you need to create something. anything. it doesn't matter if you suck. you don't need to monetise it, or make it your career. you can restart an old hobby; you can start from scratch. it doesn't matter. you just need to hold something and be able to say "i did that". baking, drawing, painting, writing, coding, crafts, whatever. make something ! you cannot have all your hobbies be a form of consumption. it's fun, it's great in its own right. but the single best action to make yourself feel better, to calm your mind, to gain self esteem, is to Create
This is an experiment to see if there really are as few of us as people think. You can also use this to freak out your followers who think you’re 25 or something. Yay!
Just posting some of my art here ... I really like how it turned out. It's my interpretation of the prompt "cheese" from a doodle challenge on Instagram
I've been wondering why I draw rainbows every June and always feel a bit reserved...
Even though I'll never be an active part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have the greatest respect.
Because more than any other community the LGBTQIA+ community promotes diversity, tolerance and inclusive thinking.
There are no preachers that everyone relies on. In my years on Tumblr I've seen mean people trying to invade the community and being blocked off.
Nowhere else the power of education is promoted so much. Know what TERFs are, understand why this is offensive, don't support them, boycott them, educate others...
There might be some different opinions but in the end ... people are valid being different and this is how a healthy society should be.
So pride is more than justified because this is something to be proud of
This year's 7th of May 2023 we use our own language again!
A few basic rules (this is very much copied from the original UYLD creators):
If your language is something other than English, on May 7th you can speak that language all day!
Speak whatever language feels good for you! Any and all!!
You’ll blog in your language all day: text posts, replies, tags (except triggers and organizational tags), the whole nine yards. Regardless of what language people choose to speak to you, you answer in your own.
Midnight to midnight according to your own time zone
English native speakers, if you wanna participate you can practice a second language you’re learning
The tag is gonna be #Speak Your Language Day or #spyld
Non-verbal, non-written languages (like ASl, dialects, otherwise non-written languages) are more than welcome!
Tag me in any and all non english posts! Or submit to your liking!
Should I scold my therapist for calling me cis-hetero? (In a rather casual conversation - so replace "my therapist" with "a gay man I value and like a lot")
I mean, I don't care about labels.
But I always say "I live in heteronormativ" but I still don't fully understand monosexuality.
I would totally shock him but still I feel like it wasn't right behavior and has to be ... Called out in a way.
