Okay loser get on your knees it’s time for your nightly ass worship. Make sure to take the panties off with your teeth this time like we practiced and I better be licked perfectly clean by the time you’re done, I got really sweaty at the beach today <3
I think everyone that’s mad about it has low media literacy because the idea that Yorgos and Emma Stone made an entire movie about putting a baby’s brain in an adult woman who goes on to do sex work and didn’t know how that would look or land with people is so preposterous. Like the film is obviously an intentionally uncomfortable examination of the sexualization and infantilization of women and the special sexualization that infantalized women experience.
Anyone who watches a lot of old film is familiar with the “beautiful naive sexually mature woman who for some reason is encountering the world for the first time” trope. like Forbidden Planet is a perfect example of that in action. My friend calls it the beautiful idiot who was born yesterday trope.
I think it’s hugely misogynistic to act like Emma Stone who was heavily involved in writing and producing that film didn’t know what kind of narrative she was creating. Everyone being like “wow it’s so fucked up of them to put a BABYS BRAIN in a WOMANS BODY and then SEXUALIZE HER” like they are the first person to realize that is an idiot frankly. Yorgos also famously makes movies that deconstruct the social contract and make you uncomfortable on purpose.
The actual film wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea I didn’t love the aesthetic and the blend of CGI and real acting and props but I thought it was a very realistic and neutral representation of sex work which we need more of, and it certainly was not wrong to explore the themes it explored.
