I have genuinely no idea what to expect from opening this up, and I don't want to get too big a crowd - the more people to coordinate on this end of things, I suspect, the harder it'll be to coordinate overall. JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS (2020) S1 EPISODE 07 - EDGE OF GREAT

All right so I haven't been active in the Julie and the Phantoms fandom in a long time, and although I know there are definitely still people creating and reblogging in the fandom it tends to be a much smaller handful of people than it used to, which for me felt disheartening and was part of why I've backed off from it. I'd love to see new stuff more regularly and start recirculating older things just to remind myself and anyone else who needs it how much I love this silly little show.

All this to say, I am putting out feelers to see if anyone is interested in a blog that runs consistent, casual event-type things for the fandom to try and revitalize interest in jatp fanworks, like featured weeks for individual characters here, fic rec events, etc. I'm toying with ideas to inspire people to pick up their wips, spark new stories, and highlight older content that didn’t get much attention or would just be nice to see again. I’d like to create a community space to liven the fandom back up for people who miss the show or got into the fandom after the hype died down. Does that seem interesting to anyone?

Headcanon ask!!! Mysterious boarding school AU thoughts?

MYSTERIOUS BOARDING SCHOOL!!!!!!!! You just unlocked something in my brain, hang on hang on…

Julie gets enrolled in a fancy private school with a fancy music program. (Maybe her mom is still alive???? Her dad is really trying to help her with her dreams of making music???)

She gets there, first day, runs into Luke, Alex, and Reggie.

All the other students have no idea who she’s talking about, tells her there are no students going by those names there. (It’s like. Small private school, they would know!)

Flynn is the first one to suggest ghosts, but she’s 100% kidding. Julie is like “girl, actually, you have a point…”

Carrie decides they’re weird, especially when Julie suggests staying up late and trying to catch the boys on camera.

Luke appears in the hallway outside her dorm room, and Julie is like “bro I think you’re dead” and he’s like “lol no I’m not”

Spoiler alert: yeah he is.

Other hijinks and shenanigans involving ghost hunting, and also how can Julie see them but no one else at the school???

JULIE FINDS AN OLD YEAR BOOK TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TIME PERIOD THEY’RE FROM, and she’s like “wait why am I trying to look in the like late 1800’s” so she finds them in the 1990’s and is like “lol it’s only been 20 years for y’all?!?!”

Somehow figure out the whole ‘we can perform with Julie on stage’ thing, but this time the whole school is like “THAT’S YOUR GHOST BOYS YOU BEEN TALKING ABOUT?!?!”

you know, out of all the lines in julie’s plea to her mum in the alley, the one that just gets to me every single time to the point where i have to pause and take a breather is “why can’t you just come pick me up?”. nothing before or after it hits me quite as much. just the desperate wish for rose to come pick her up like it’s a birthday party that julie doesn’t want to be at any more and not a massive gig where julie was put into the position of holding the fate of three people’s souls in her hand, a child begging for their parent and the normal life to return. god, madison is so utterly brilliant in that whole scene jfc
