so i recently updated my touhou-like bullet hell shmup with its Extra Stage in which the wlw struggle becomes the forefront of the narrative and everyone here should at least try it out (there is a demo)
Praecantor Lila ~ Bell Spell Original Soundtrack by Lunacy Indeterminate is now available for purchase on Bandcamp! Also coming soon to streaming services.
I recently started a Discord server for LI a couple months ago, featuring games, gamedev, chillin and chattin, and a worrying amount of Minecraft. Come check it out!
The chassis is a little less dumb now, unless you toggle on THIS plugin display.
each design is representative of the type of chip it is; you can see the core plugin easily, it's in the upper-right. for example, active abilities (spells) are denoted by this sigil.
also now displayed on the board are your active linkage bonuses
HP, RP, strength, defense, magic, resistance, in that order
right now in the board, there are lots of orange links, between pieces of like elements, so strength is being boosted, by a whole lot
compare this
with a vanilla Heron robot, that has no additional chips
There’s only one problem with rolling out this blueprint to the battlefield:
The power consumption of this (actually overall of poor synergy) program is over a quarter of the bot’s total RP (102 out of 383)! If you were to deploy this runemachia, it would survive a grand total of three turns before powering off.
Poor engineering decisions make efficient battle a tall order.
So, I’ve been given the wonderful opportunity to provide a touch of my involvement to the soundtrack of my friend rakaasac’s “re/ve,” a sci-fi bullet hell shooter that’s absolutely maddening. I’m unsure if there’s a point in mixing the latter half of the OST, since nobody will get that far.
Joking aside, getting to mess around with his work has been a very fun and rewarding experience so far. I’m looking forward to showing off the rest of this, if he lets me, I suppose.
Re: LSS had some minor fixes and adjustments applied that address a fair number of the notes listed in the original post, as well as a whole slew of pattern changes to make the game overall a little less rough.
edit: the bug about the congratulations text is not fixed and, in fact, got worse
