week 1: introduction

Background

Her full name is Verónica Itzel Fontana Aguilar, she's a mexican-colombian girl. Her parents arrived at El Encanto when they were kids with the group of people in which Pedro and Alma were. Her father's family, the Fontanas, are horsemen from Sinaloa, and fled Mexico during the Porfiriato. Her mother is from Yucatan, and unfortunately, was orphaned shortly before arriving in town, and she and her younger sister were adopted by the Fontana family. They work raising horses and selling them. Their business is well established in the town, and they're one of the most important families in there. Anyways, they're not friends with the Madrigals, and only interact with them whenever they need something. Itzel is the eldest of two children in the Fontana-Aguilar family.

Despite having a normal childhood, Itzel was a lonely child. Her father worked all day in the stables, so he didn't spend time with her; her mother only worked until noon 'cause she's a teacher, but she just couldn't stand her own child, and sent her to her room to keep her away from her. Itzel was a restless and energetic girl, so this affected her a lot, making her look outside her family circle for the attention that she wasn't given at home.

Personality

Itzel is a kind person and has good feelings, but she's very disconnected from her own emotions and her environment, which makes her quite impulsive. Even so, the emotions Itzel feels are very intense, and is a hopeless romantic. She collapses easily, and crying is her way of channeling her anger, happiness, or sadness. She's also a theater kid, and tends to unconsciously create her own problems by believing herself to be the protagonist of her own soap opera/novela. She really likes to grab the spotlight, and knows she's pretty, so she takes advantage of this to get what she wants. Sometimes this attitude of hers gets her into trouble.

Her savior complex and her lack of judgment when in love always make her get into toxic relationships.

Occupation

Since she was a child, Itzel showed special interest in art and knew she definitely wanted to be an artist. When she expressed her desire of devoting her life to art, her parents objected, arguing that a woman couldn't choose that occupation. However, they didn't stop her either, she did what she wanted, and fulfilled her dream anyway. She is the town muralist, and makes oil paintings as well. Her parents began to support her when they saw that she could actually make a living from it.

Young Karmen .R. Méndez (Sonia's mother)

loved singing, her work and practice had given her an opportunity to sing w/a traveling opera tour down from her home city of Mexíco to Rio, Brazil. Her family didn't care for her passion, as long as it paid for their bills. Karmen was born the 9th child from a family of 13 kids ,having a high demand florist for a mother as well as a well-known landscaper as her father in a rich part of the city.

She was having the time of her life, very content traveling city to city, town to town ,singing her top favorite songs for hundreds of people until she entered her 2nd to last show in Colombia. Out of every other city she had performed, She gotten to be asked out by a tall and Sun-shine kind man. The other men she rejected were too...spoiled but He was different, more...in touch with his feelings, he was Soft but strong. She gave him a chance after waving welcomly from the crowd of the festival.

Ciel .F.B. Ibarra (Sonia's Papa)

was born in the same village where his best friend, Pedro Madrigal, lived too. He was an only child to his father, Tristàn Barr who was French/Scottish man who stowed away from his country to work as a Blacksmith and to his mama, Lorena Ibarra, a sweet Colombian coffee Bean farmer.

Ciel had always been friendly face around his village & helpful hand when he is needed around his mama's field or his dad's workshop. His dad taught him how to speak French & Gaelic. Similar to his dad, He inherited his dad's ginger hair, his freckles & body build. Tristàn also taught him how to fight & defense for any situation. His mama taught him how to be strong and open about his feelings in the mind & body also how to treat a woman right when he meets the one.

Ciel loved to work on his guitar,exploring the forest, trying out clay & carving when He knew blacksmithing wasn't for him. It gave him & Pedro spend more time together, being best friends since their early teens. When Karmen's show first arrived to his village, He was in awe how Karmen sang & how beautifully mysterious she was. Some of the village girls would throw themselves at him but Karmen made him feel lighter & at ease.(His hair turns more brown as he gets older)

THE BEST FRIEND Talk- Sonia & José

Since when She was able to punch her bullies, She was the only few who protected Bruno & made sure to keep him safe, He was her best friend.

When She heard about Bruno & José dating, being a couple, Sonia was angry. Not about them as a couple (she doesn't judge about how love should be) but at Bruno, for not telling her sooner. Best friends should tell each other almost everything. Sonia also knew about Chepe's & José 's fallout. (Her nickname is Chimsonia for a reason, She lives for the gossip). Bruno was her top priority, sure he is his own person but Sonia can abit over protective. As for José, She liked him, as a crush & an acquaintance, but When it came to Bruno, she hopes He made sure Bruno was treated with kindness.

One day, Sonia was walking to Casita to see if Bruno was free to get pastries from the bakery with her. Then She spotted José at the front door, thinking He must be waiting for Bruno. She took a deep breathe & Sonia stood beside him with a glare & her arms crossed. She was gonna give him the talk, the 'don't hurt him in any way or you'll get it' Talk. Sonia looks up at him, with her eyes dead set on him, "I'm going to tell you this once,José Guzman. I like you, but I love Bruno more, so if I hear or see you hurt Brunito in any form, I will not rest on finding you & take a mean swing at you. Got it?." He surprisingly stares down at Her after giving out her threat. She was younger & very short but Her body language was dead serious. There was reason why She gotten into fights with Bruno's & her bullies.

Oof, Can you imagine how furious she was when Bruno, in a devastating matter, had told her that José left? She waited for the day He would come back to give one heck of a hit at him. Sonia hoped Her & Bruno's kids didn't watch her chase a mountain of a man with her boot...that would be quite a show. At least she mellowed out abit.

I got Around to making Miles's Door!!

Remember, His power is the gift of memory.

It could a Good or bad memory, even Long-term or short-term. Sometimes. He asked the visitor to remember a small piece memory by a certain smell, taste, feeling, touch or sound. He would also suggest the visitor to bring something that means alot to them,like a heirloom or keepsake to make the memory more clear.

At a young age, Miles would only hold down four memories for the entire day. If He went over his limit, He would had to endure painful headaches & a bloody nose. Even when he holds a spoon or piece of his clothing, he would start making a memory. His mama made sure he stayed to his limit by requesting him to wear gloves until he gotten more of a handle of his gift.

After leaving Casita, Miles stopped using gift, only limiting to involuntary memories, & ignored any passerby who wanted a memory. He still wore gloves when he's not working, just only his palms were covered.

(Part )Over the pass year after Bruno Disappeared, Miles sadly sat by his papa's door to see if he could come back home. But his mama had help him keep busy by letting him play with his cousins. Then He was overworked by Alma, sweetly pushing him to give out more memories than his limit to keep the Miracle strong. That didn't sit well for Sonia, She intervened every time, arguing with Alma.

Miles was Sonia's first priority, so the only thing to keep her son happy & safe was to leave la Casita madrigal. They would move back to her old home with her papa, She would get her room back while Miles moved to her brother's old room. Miles had always been scared of his Abuela. He would miss his tíos, tías, & cousins, especially Luisa, Mirabel & Dolores but He didn't feel at home anymore. Abuela only loved him because of his gift & his likeness of Abuelo Pedro.

Not long after a week, They said their farewells-for-now & moved in to the Méndez household. Sonia kicked out anyone who tried to get a memory from Miles, It took a while but They finally stopped, He got to be a kid & a regular teenager while helping his mama in the pottery workshop.

I'm so excited to show off for this beautiful piece because This was inspired by a certain artist that I look up to & my Love for Encanto, my oc & Bruno, of course.

**Sonia watches the lights & fireworks go out as She walked up the street, happily holding hand in hand with Bruno.

**Sonia softly grasped Bruno's hand to get his attention, giving him a contented smile as he smiled shyly back as Bruno interlaced his fingers with hers. **

Sonia: "I know you dislike crowds, Brunito,but I am grateful that you volunteered to be my escort. Papa would only choose you to keep an eye on me. I know the both of us will have a unforgettable night to remember."

Encanto SONIA.I-M AU: Sonia is explaining Miles that friends come & go from time, to time or from Death. Miles only had one friend who wasn't afraid of him but his friend passed away from an young age.
