seeing the way media is consumed recently makes me not want to put out anything i create because nothing has staying power anymore. if something succeeds it’s a short craze and consumed at a ridiculous pace and talked about for a month max before it’s put aside and forgotten. who remembers talking about tiger king? queen’s bandit? bridgerton? it feels like nothing actually sticks to the cultural consciousness in recent years. there’s really no 2010s movie comparable to the classics of past years. i don’t want my work to be chewed up and spit out and forgotten.

Thank you! As for the skull, I felt that the rabbit fit the song's atmosphere. That, and not many would see that small of a corpse in foliage, but their body would nourish the land just the same as a larger, more 'significant' animal.
No matter how small or large, powerful or vulnerable, everyone will face a slumber that won't end.

in art circles there’s always talk about how no matter your skill level you will always think your art isn’t as good as it could be and that you’ll never be satisfied, and it’s true to an extent so there’s really no reason beating yourself up over how objectively good your art is right now (especially if you’re just starting out) but there’s a point down the line (and not even that far into your journey!) where you don’t hate literally every piece you do and that’s worth practicing for. it’s attainable and it feels nice to know your own art doesnt give you a mental breakdown. but you gotta practice for that stage to arrive so if you feel like you’ll never like your art without becoming a super amazing pro 4000 artist so why even bother, you’re wrong. keep drawing
