I agree that series 5 of Supernatural was it's most natural ending. Even with the cliffhanger, Chuck's ending narration was just brilliantly well done and the whole thing just felt like it was planned to end that way from the beginning.
HOWEVER. If they really wanted to keep going, they should have at least had the balls to end it in 2014 with Lucifer coming back and releasing the Croatoan virus, with the last scene being a direct parallel of the "whatever choices you make, whatever details you alter, we will always end up here" scene from 5x04. it would have been dark and brutal and, yeah, probably a kick in the teeth to the whole "Team Free Will" thing... but damn it would have been memorable.
Oh agreed. If I'm not mistaken, the show was supposed to end after S5. If I remember correctly (and don't quote me on this), the studio wanted to cash in on the major attention and money the show was bringing to the network and ended up greenlighting S6 at the last minute.
Ending it literally anywhere before 2015 would have been better than the actual ending. I do like your idea of ending it in 2014, though. I think even with the "sticking it to Team Free Will" vibe you described it would have better reflected the tone of the show. I feel like Supernatural's early seasons liked to play with the "actions/consequences vs. fate/destiny" tropes quite a bit and settling for a bittersweet ending (that is NOT the "bittersweet" finale we actually got) is more in line with the show's early tone and values, anyways.

Hi, saw all your fic recs on Lucifer - do you maybe know this fic? I’ve been searching for ages… Definitely on AO3, I just remember Chloe calling Lucifer, him flying Trix+friend+friends mum out a burning house, healing them with feathers in LUX. The mum wakes up and has QUESTIONS about everything. Something about his old book collection as well? And Ella gives him a face mask so he won’t be recognised if he’s on a news video AGAIN? And at some point he offers wads of cash to newly homeless mum?
Hi! I'm sure that me answering this ask is quite redundant considering I'm not even sure went it was sent (yikes).
Unfortunately, I don't recognize that fic. Since the show ended I've almost stopped reading new Lucifer fic entirely :( I'm sorry I can't be much help. Maybe a follower will mention your fic in the replies!

I’ve been thinking about rewatching S6 but every time I do it’s like a go through a mini grieving process. I think it’s because I feel like they cheated so many fans as well as the characters. There was so much they could have done to make the story better and have a good ending for the characters. Like there are these two awesome fanfiction stories and they cover, not just Chloe and Lucifer and the years apart and how they deal with it, but Rory is included and Trixie and Linda and Charlie-
-, then there’s Lucifer’s work in Hell and then after Chloe dies that isn’t it, no. She has a whole life with Lucifer and her family in heaven and there is so much triles and development and it’s all beyond good and satisfying and it’s like if the show writers had put in even half that time and effort and thought the show would have been way better and yeah we might be waiting another four years and gotten like 8 seasons but worth it x 1000 but they took quick and easy. Just... why?
I really said "huh, I'll answer this later" and then "later" turned into like a year :))
But, yes, exactly. Fanfic shows us that if the writers had even thought about the Rory plotline for more than two seconds they could have actually devised a semi-coherent story.
Personally, I'm glad they ended the show where they did. I think even though we want to see the things we love go on forever it's often better to end them at their "natural" ending. Somehow, I would categorize the Lucifer ending as still being better than the Supernatural ending (and we all know how long that show went on for lol). I'm a Supernatural purist, though. I've always been a part of the camp who thinks it should have kept its original s5 ending ;)

The Dawn FM is here and not only did Abel serve us a big slice of existential horror pie, he also included some Night Vale vibes along with enough juicy relationship rumors to feed XO for the next few years

hi, it's the DAYS anon again :) I stopped watching after 8 episodes, so I think I gave it a fair shot. I think it would've been better if the leads were Ji Na and Joo Ik in just a regular romcom - just my opinion, of course. I've watched both and I prefer True Beauty eheh happy kdrama watching!! :3
Oh yeah that's definitely a fair shot! Totally valid, though. I could see a spin off series just focused on their relationship really working in their favor if they ever wanted to do it.
I liked the actual leads, but I'm also a sucker for an enemies to lovers paranormal romance so it's on brand for me to enjoy them 🤡 I think the other reason I enjoyed them so much is because I'm coming off the back of Hotel del Luna and it's bittersweet ending and just really needed a nice, domestic romance palette cleanser lol.
True Beauty also looked to be more my speed so it looks like that one will be up next. Thank you! Always feel free to drop any other recs 👀

I tried to watch DAYS when it was ongoing but dropped it, because I found it boring ;__; I recommend watching Mr. Queen or The Red Sleeve ;)
Aw really? I'm curious to know which episode you stopped watching at! I would agree that it starts a little mundane, but it really picks up once the B plot with Ja-Ni, Joo-ik, and Hyun-gyu gets fleshed out.
I'll add the other two recommendations to my watch list though ;) I'm also planning on watching True Beauty and It's Okay to Not be Okay 👀

Got desperate for fanfic for a tiny kdrama and after scouring AO3 and ff.net apparently I was desperate enough to log on to Wattpad for the first time in like a decade. I was aware that Wattpad was on a different level than AO3 but WOW was I not expecting the trainwreck that I got 😰 This is a PSA: if you ever feel as desperate as I was for content, going to Wattpad is not the solution

Sorry this took so long but here's my eleven/rose recs:
A Rose Forever After by Vampiyaa
(E) Eleven/Rose; Part One of the Who Holidays series. The Ponds try to figure out what to get a sullen Doctor for Christmas, and Amy manages to wheedle a single muttered sentence from him that sounds suspiciously like he wants a rose. By that notion, the Ponds go to a flower shop and buy a rose, only to run into a certain former companion.
Eleven And His Rose Series by BittyBlueEyes
(G) Rose returns to her home universe and finds that the Doctor has a new face. But no matter what changes had taken place in the separation, he will always be her Doctor and she will always be his Rose.
Consequences Series by NoPondInTheForrest
(T) Years have passed since the Doctor walked away, leaving the woman he loved behind with his double. Now traveling with the Ponds, his broken hearts are an old secret, hidden away under the guise of the manic, dynamic alien.
So when a mysterious threat arises, compelling him to return to Pete's World, it means risking everything- including his hearts, his secrets, and his sanity. But saying no is never an option when Rose needs his help.
Ten and Rose elope and Eleven never marries River, but it's still canon-compliant Series by TsukiKabanoki
(G) Yeah, I had this idea. I like angst, so most of it is probaby just the Doctor missing Rose or people finding out about her and all that.
Rewritten by gbMS
(NR) The Doctor un-does himself to reboot the universe.
The he's re-done by memory, but someone's passed out on the console room floor.
(A One Shot turned ep-by-ep rewrite of S.06 with Rose Tyler)
More Than Words by Teekalin
(T) In the middle of rebooting the universe, the Doctor gets a brilliant idea. A mad but brilliant idea. He has found a way to bring Rose back to him. Now all he need to do is create a second Big Bang and everything should work. He can only hope she will recognise him in his new body.
A Two Companion Gap by othellia
(T) When the TARDIS becomes sick, there's only one person the Doctor can go to for help. Himself.
I have more, I know it, I just can't remember them over the years lol. Happy reading!
Just forced my roommate to rewatch The God Complex (6x11) as a primer for my 20 minute rant on why Eleven/Rose is sexy and my favorite Doctor Who ship

Did some fic cataloging and realized some things:
1. Dan speaks Spanish every chance I can afford him to
2. Deckerstar is almost always in an established relationship outside of canon timeline unless I write an episode coda
3. I make one character the designated Agent of Chaos per fic
(Idk what to do with these facts except call myself out and then know full well that they will all definitely continue to appear in future fics 🤷‍♀️)

I like deckerstar but I hated rory too she was the main problem of the season. I was she was his sister instead that would have been better and they should have focused on Lucifer and chole being a family with trixie. Also Lucifer being in hell was not great. He deserves to remain on earth being happy. And the whole chole growing old was werid.
Yeah :/ I think the general consensus in some circles is that Rory kind of majorly sucked. I almost would have preferred her to be Michael's kid so we could finally have some closure for the whole "Michael is evil" plotline we had going on, and also avoid the whole "Lucifer is a father" thing but we did not get that! 🙃 Personally, I think those plotlines would have been more engaging than "teen throws temper tantrum, permanently condemns herself and her parents to a lifetime of unhappiness," however I did not write this season.

Lucifer being Hell’s therapist, while being well intentioned, is simply a loosing battle. Lucifer is one person trying to counsel and heal trillions of souls that have been being emotionally, mentally, and physically tortured by a) their guilt b) demons c) Lucifer himself for beyond trillions of years. Even the most experienced of therapists would struggle with one or two souls but the guy whom has had 4-5 years of therapy and has 0 schooling or experience is meant to heal all of these-
souls plus all the incoming ones? That’s crap. It would take at minimum thousands of therapists to even make a tiny dent, and that’s being generous. Plus you’re telling me that those souls whom have experienced unimaginable pain and suffering, at the hands of one of their chief torturers no less, would be fine sitting across from him? No way! Then there’s Lucifer himself. This guy craves love, friendship, connection, anything stimulating , is prone to depression, ptsd and whom knows what else-- and he’s trapped in an almost unchanged prison with next to no stimulation or meaningful relationships and even if he did form one of he did his “job” right that soul would leave for heaven never to be seen again, thereby destroying whatever positive relationship Lucifer managed to find. It’s an existence that is just minimally less damaging, isolating, and agonizing than the one that Lucifer has experienced since before human creation. But wait!! Chloe’s here!!! And... Rory once in a while-- so there’s a thin bandaid on a constantly infected wound. That will make this hell less of a Hell. Sure, ok.
Omg I'm SO sorry it took so long to answer this 😭 but yeah 100% agree. Lucifer just barely learned how to control his own emotions and to somewhat care for others--is that really who you'd want to be your therapist? I also don't buy that he would be trying to reform the guy who basically kidnapped and tortured his daughter. I mean like I'm all for redemption but come on! You're telling me Mr. Bleeding Heart himself is emotionally mature and detached enough to provide council to a murderer? I don't think so! And he doesn't even get to see his kid or the woman he loves until they literally die? That's not a good ending for Lucifer, honestly that's just a whole other type of torture.

Aww I still rewatch Lucifer and there are not many blogs about this show and it's a shame you wont be as active tho. Hopefully you will still post some stuff about Lucifer and also Tom Ellis other roles too;)
Aww I'm sorry! :(
But don't worry! I'm not gone forever, there's always the possibility that I'll be posting some stuff here and there but still nowhere near my initial level of output :)
