This is way better than the first installment, not that the first one was bad. There are more fight scenes, moving developments, and shifts among the characters. The direction and cinematography of this film has a wide scope. They're all breath-taking as the setting is a character itself. This is truly an all-star cast. Although this film is predicted to top the box office, this can also grab critics' choices and can prove that the star quality is not just on the surface. Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Austin Butler, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, and more gave A+ performances. Although the world of Dune was written decades ago, the themes of the film carry relevance and truthfulness of what our world acts and looks. Visual effects, sound, editing, this film is, I believe, going to take over again for next year's Oscars.

This is simply a chronicle of the love story between Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre and the rising career of Bernstein as a composer and conductor. I like the seamless transition of scenes here and the feel and vibe truly capture the period when these two sparked a romantic affair. However, through the years, the relationship was bumpy. Carey Mulligan showed control and limit in her performance as a wife and woman betrayed and diminished. Bradley Cooper's physical transformation does give him comfort in playing the Bernstein role. I'd say it's effective. Maestro did not achieve something unique, but this film can be made as a good reference of Bernstein's life from an unbiased perspective.
