Abandoned Towers of Books Appear in New York City

Caught up in a strange whim, Shaheryar Malik disposes his collection of books in teetering piles in public spaces. Scattered across Manhattan, his book collection has been abandoned and left to fend for itself at the hands of city dwellers to decide their fates. He doesn’t wish to know what will become of his books, or what may likely happen to them in this unconventional experiment.

I thought I would be understood without words.

قررت في يوم من الايام ان احاول مرة اخري مع الكتابة قررت الا اختار موضوعاً اتذكرها عندما يلعب جيمي باج اغنية rain song اشعر بنزوع جزء من روحي وافلاته مني ليطير متعطشا بحثا عنها لن اذكر شيئا عن امرأة لم اعرفها لااعرف نبرة صوتها لا اعرف شيئا عن الشغف بأعينها لا اعرف مقاس حذائها لا اعرف رقم حظها لا اعرف لون خصلاتها تحت اشعة الشمس انا بالكاد اعرف عنها شيئاً، كل ما اعرف عنها وما عرفته دوما انها حالة من الجمال بدأت مع ولادتها وحتي تلفظ اخر انفاسها الاخيرة او بكلمات اخري كما وصف ماركيز احد شخصيات كتاباته ب"طيف جميل لشئ مجهول" ،، لكن ما هو مؤلم حقا بالنسبة لي انني لازلت اذكرها كلما احببت شيئاً.. ربما ذلك سيرضي هوساً بداخلها في ان يتم تذكرها وان تكون نقطة بيضاء في حياة من مرو بها وما الي ذلك حسنا فليكن كذلك استنفذت اخر محاولاتي وادركت انه في النهاية عليك الاستسلام لما آلت اليه الامور وبدون اي نوع من الألم تركت ذلك الحب ينساب مني ويأخذ اخر بقاياه وتمنيت السعاده لنفسي فيما هو قادم ربما صدق احد الاصدقاء عندما ارسل لي بمقال لاحمد خالد توفيق يصف مجموعة من البشر يسميهم "المتأخرين" ويطبق علي صفاتهم بدأت في تصديق ذلك حقا فأنا دائما من يحضر في نهاية السهرة ومن تلعن فيه لتأخير حافلتك عن الموعد ومن ينتظر دهراً كاملاً في انتظار الفرصة المناسبة تمنيت لو كنت يوما من هؤلاء الذين يتصيدون الفرص شكرت القدر احيانا علي خيبات الامل المتتالية ربما ذلك ما احتجت اليه حتي لا انتظر ابد الدهر بمعتقدات عديمة الفائدة تركت نفسي منذ فترة لأنجرف مع التيار طرحت كافة معتقداتي عني احاول التجرد من نفسي بكل ما استطيع لا اهتم حقا بمن سأصبح توقفت عن الخطط بعيدة المدي توقفت عن السيناريوهات المثالية والاحداث الخيالية التي تجول برأسي اقبل بكل ما يجلبه لي القدر كمريض سرطان في اخر ايامه باع كل ما يملك نظير رحلته الاخيرة

Impressive Sand Sculptures by the Sea Are Showcased on Festival in Denmark

The resort town of Søndervig, Denmark is adorned with fleeting works of art created using sand, each year for the Søndervig Sand Sculpture Festival, transforming the beach into a wonderful exhibit for art lovers to enjoy and for this year, the theme is “Life under the sea”.

60 year old historian Martin Bühler (who identified himself to the press, I do not identify activists without consent) appears to ‘photobomb’ a lot of media images of the G20 in Hamburg. In reality he is a long time observer documenting police brutality. In Hamburg he chose to cultivate the most non-activist ‘white bystander in a suit with a bike’ look he could manage and casually walked in front of police. As police slowed down or interrupted attacks and waited for the ‘bystander’ to get out of the way (being caught on camera trashing what look like bystanders is bad press after all), activists had time to regroup or retreat.
