oh to be clear i don’t think they were actually like “no we’ll get in trouble if we say the slur” irl, I just mean it feels like that (and i think the phrase “because of woke” is funny, the actual reason would just be that times had changed)

anyway I see what you’re saying and that’s definitely the intention, you’re right, and the point about how it drives the plot forward is fair but it still just doesn’t work for me. part of that is probably because every time i’ve ever rewatched cereal defense has been with frank falls out the window as context, so i don’t really remember how i felt about it before that was explicitly made a connection, but either way i just personally don’t think it’s funny, i get where the humor is supposed to come from but it’s just… not there for me. whatever their intent, it’s a scene i find jarring and off putting in an episode i otherwise LOVE. the main reason I’ve thought about and become irritated by it is because cereal defense is one of my go-to “showing someone sunny” episodes but when i get to that bit i feel so embarrassed </3 i continue to show it to people anyways though. tl;dr i think we’re mostly on the same page and i worded my original post in a silly way
