One time I brought one of my rocks with me on a plane to touch to calm me down during the flight, but it fell out of my pocket on my way back to the bathroom and then as soon as i realized this they actually announced “did anyone lose…… . A rock” over the loudspeaker system.
When I went up to claim it the plane man, clearly unable to throw off the shackles of his training in the procedure of asking for people’s full names and birthdates when they come to claim wallets, said “wait no, first tell me what color it is so I know it’s really yours”
He seemed to realize this was stupid directly after saying it and kind of smiled like to make it a joke but the joke was on him bc I Described the fucking rock to him for like 30 solid seconds
…anyway. that was an interaction I had once

[Ignore the previous poll if you saw it; I wanted the poll to go for a week instead of a day]
Idea stolen from @sillylotrpolls:
Counting all media, and you may take as generous a definition of companion as you like. To specify what 'number of characters' means in this context, if one character has multiple names, (fr'instance Bruce Wayne/Batman) that character only counts once. Otoh, multiple different characters with the same title, (ex. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, et. al.) might all be Robin, but they each count as separate characters.
As always, feel free to reblog for wider reach.

it actually kills me when people talk about interstellar like it's some dumb pretentious movie for snobby faux-intellectuals who think they're so smart....like my brother in christ have you watched interstellar. it's about the indomitable human spirit and how love ties us together across time and space and how a person's will to reunite with their loved ones is stronger than any force in the universe like i'm sorry you didn't understand the wacky sci-fi stuff but can we please stop pretending any movie that has the tiniest bit of mindscrewery is "pretentious"

not to be dramatic or anything but interstellar is really one of the most beautiful and touching examinations of human existence... geniuenly i think there's so much to be said about what human beings are all about and all the ways we're ugly but the way interstellar says yes people can be evil and do stupid things because they're scared and they're selfish and mean but also it all boils down to a dad that promised he'd come back for his daughter and a daughter that believed him. yeah. i feel like this is beautiful. i think this is what humanity is all about

rewatched interstellar tonight and. humanity is saved not because we allow ourselves to be emotionally distant and rational and logical and care for the greater good, humanity is saved because of love. because one guy loved his daughter enough to communicate with her over space and time and she loved him enough to understand. the idea that there is a future humanity out there that is looking back at us and saying I love you. I love you enough to bend a dimension you do not yet understand to save you. Everything is about love.
