Today I turned a very lazy day off into a very productive day off!
2 loads of laundry
Changed my sheets
Gave Ollie a bath (he got in the tub all by himself!! This was a huge deal since he’s afraid of water.)
Cleaned the tub and the rest of the bathroom
Made dinner for today and the next two days (salmon bowls). I overcooked everything lol. Oh well 🤷🏼♀️ I also couldn’t add vegetables because I didn’t have any, but I hope to pick some up for tomorrow’s meal.

30 minute Peloton run to kick off the week!
Marathon training starts in 6 weeks - it’s time to build some habits and build up base mileage. My training program is going to be running Monday-Thursday, strength on Friday, long run Saturday. I’m going to start building the habit of running before work those days, and then getting up on Friday for strength and some cycling. I do want to start running longer on Saturdays with the group I want to run with throughout training to build that habit and accountability.
It’s a start, and honestly it felt so right and normal being up and running before work. Honestly, this might have been what I’ve been needing lately. (I say this fully knowing it’s not always easy to wake up and move before work but we’re gonna ride this good feeling as long as possible.)

First river trip of the year!! This was the only picture I took, unfortunately. I’m too lazy to get my phone out of my dry bag when I’m paddling. But we saw horses and turtles and cormorants.
It was 100° F today and I definitely didn’t drink enough water beforehand or eat enough food. I felt a little shaky by the time I got off the river. But it also takes me a bit to get used to carrying my board up and down riverbanks, so I think the shakiness was part dehydration and part muscle exhaustion.
It’s still one of my favorite things to do and places to be in the world! I love river season even more than I love hiking season.
