thanks for telling me and ok that’s fucked up of the actress. nonetheless the hate that comfrey as a character gets just for being greg’s romantic interest is so juvenile like i thought we were past this as a society. also like just in terms of what it does for the story. i’ve been seeing a lot of takes that are like “oh a storyline w greg/jess would be so much better” and i agree it would be INTERESTING for sure but the fact that comfrey is who greg pursues speaks volumes about his character, and not positively either. he doesn’t choose someone who would be good for him. he goes for the person who seems responsive to his advances and he flirts with her to begin with bc she seems like someone who would increase his social capital. and as soon as it seems like he might have a shot with the countess he moves on immediately. which makes so much sense given that we see, again and again, that greg will ALWAYS choose the relationship he will get the most out of. like i’m sorry that people have created an idea of greg hirsch in their heads and this doesn’t fit in with it but that’s not how it works lmao, creating headcanons about a character in your head and getting mad when the show writers don’t conform to that is as embarrassing as it always was. i do wish they had cast somebody else as comfrey though because yikes :/
