it could be rain, he thinks, it had just been raining and that was his fault actually.
it could be sweat, he counters himself, what they have been doing is incredibly strenuous, even for himself.
but whatever it is, the tracks cutting wet across clint's cheeks are going to be tears in about one minute, if they aren't already, given the state of the archer's mangled fingers. thor might have tried to find something to put between clint's teeth but there was no time, the battle was still going on around them and they needed hawkeye at his best, not down for the count.
"i'm really, really sorry about this," thor said mournfully, sincerely.
and then all at once he was cradling clint over his knees with one arm tight at the waist. the other grabbed the injured hand and tugged hard at the already fractured fingers, a sort of strange blue glow accompanying the motion and sinking into clint's skin, past gloves and all.
thor kissed him. or maybe, more accurately, he was giving him a distraction, something unexpected and something that would confuse the brain just enough to make the healing spell less painful for the hot second it was worked over freshly set fingers.
clint could scream into his mouth, bite at his lip until it bled, hell even bite his whole tongue if he wanted, whatever he needed thor would take.
but at least within a minute the spell would have healed those fingers, even if it didn't anesthetize first.

""hang on-" the duffel bag that kept his hands currently tied-up was adjusted to be held by the longer strap and crossed over his chest. it was a wonder the thing hadn't burst from the looks of how it awkwardly bulged on either end.
the zipper was certainly strained and there was a hint of sock poking through a gap where it just wouldn't fully close.
"there we are, hello!"
and with the ability to use both hands, donald reached forward and took the smaller man by the round of his shoulders. he swooped down and kissed either cheek, then let go with a joyful burst of laughter, "i've just spent a week in france, it's all they do is kiss! anyway, i'm donald!"

i have a fun new schedule with work where i start at 7, off at 3, drive home to get the boy and get him to work, back to work at 4:30 for an hour, rinse and repeat.
that said i should be in bed now and i WAS but i am back to reply to these memes :) if ever you see me suddenly NOT active after like.. 9 cst, its because i died and don't undie until like 5 am the next morning lol.

his fingers twitch then curl into his palms tightly for a moment before he reaches a hand out and takes stephen's scarred fingers gently into his grasp. it's a wonder that someone so terribly large, tall as a redwood and built just as thick, can be this gentle when he draws a thumb over the knuckles to ease the fingers into a curled grasp of his paw.
"your help has been, as ever, much appreciated, stephen," he murmurs, lips pressing to the raised scar line of the sorcerer's ring finger knuckle. a small, boyish smile uncurls.
"should you need mine, you have my number."
thor drops the hand and stands back up, the glamour of his civilian clothing slipping effortlessly over his armor and long, braided hair, leaving him in slacks, a black t-shirt and grey blazer with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. donald pushes his glasses up the bridge of his nose and steps backward with a wave of the hand that falls to briefly card through his shorn blonde locks.
