last year i reblogged this with these tags and saw it again this year and thought yet again "yeah must be nice" and then realized something
a few months ago just shy of exactly a year since i reblogged it i spent 2hrs rambling about the history of ninja turtles and sanrio toys to a boy who held my hand and smiled the whole time and actually listened to what i had to say and remembered later
idk if he's my san or not but i guess things really do get better and there really are people out there for me so there are people out there for everyone else too and it's gonna be worth the wait to find them
“oh I’m too old for stuffed animals” skill issue. sorry you can’t appreciate little creatures made to hang out with you, I on the other hand am full of joyous whimsy and therefore vastly superior.
one time right before a formal recruitment event our sorority advisor asked if i could be one of the girls that stood at the front for a couple minutes of presentation and was like "can you stand really still and keep smiling for just like six minutes?"
which of course i said "oh absolutely, i did ballet for fourteen years, i can stand there and smile for forty if you need me to"
and our advisor who was very sweet looked me in the eyes and said "that explains a lot"
to this day i wish i had asked her what it explained. what about me had she noticed and gone "hmm" that upon learning i did ballet for so long suddenly understood???? i will be haunted by this question the rest of my life
my pharmacist handing me a medication my doctor prescribed - "so this might interact with one you're already on. there is a small chance it could cause heart problems. so watch for chest pain, shortness of breath, and accelerated heart rate"
me an asthmatic with anxiety who just heard my daily experiences listed - "........okay"
and then criminal law a couple pages of the expected "beyond reasonable doubt" categories of punishment ideologies and then criminalization of sex work
just really out here setting the tone for the semester criminal law apparently intends to hold no punches (this might be a fantastic class to decide who i do and don't want to have in my life in the future lmao i get the feeling this is going to be dividing)
