If this is what it must be, this is what it will be. Leonardo allows Willas to raise him up with no small amount of pride blooming in his chest. Politics may not be Leonardo's strong suit, but he's never been more sure of his position to back Willas. He will make a fine king. Finer now that obstacles have been removed. And Leonardo has no problem furthering their agenda.

It will not be easy.

Nothing about this will ever be easy. But watching Willas swear in, and swear so proudly, firmly, for each and every person bending the knee here? That is proud work. And Leonardo does not mind seeing him in his element. He takes his place. Slightly behind Willas to the left. The world is theirs. Or at the very least, this little piece of it is.

Were Leonardo capable of thinking anything else, he could imagine that these were different kinds of oaths. But for now, he simply stood, hands clasped behind his back, the picture of a well-behaved trusted advisor and artisan, war engineer, genius. The kind of person that would help keep the Reach exactly as it is.

While his was a kingdom of plenty. little was as bountiful in the Reach as Flowers. Willas had spend his life surrounded by them, both those who photosynthesis and those who breath. and in truth he’s rarely paid attention to either of them. but when he glances down, at the flower kneeling before him. Leonardo is the ONLY thing in the room he sees.  The feeling of his lips against Willas’ fingers lingers. and he can’t quite resist the urge to turn his hand and place his palm against his Lover’s cheek. He knows they’re not alone. that the throne room is filled with people waiting to swear. but this act of devotion is one he wishes to preserve.  Still, he can feel the silence thickening and he must speak now. and as a consequence break this moment of intimacy between them. Like all those who bend the knee, the King makes a counter promise.

 “In return for your pledge of fealty. i swear that with the father as my guide, I, As your lawful Monarch, will protect you, and those you love form all who would  offer us harm. Furthermore i promise that like my forefather Garth Greenhand. Before me I will bring prosperity to our lands, and treat the people of the reach as one family.  Rise Leonardo Flowers. for you are of my blood. “ He says solemnly, before at last, reaching out his right hand  in order tp help Leonardo back on his feet.
