Originally posted on Twitter In August, STC: Reillustrated aimed to have one artist redraw each panel of part 2 from the amazing Running Wild storyline in their own style. And we absolutely achieved that and more, we even have a cover and our very own Control Zone!!

Line art by @teamsmithy who is an art machiiiine! I love how he captured the original Decap’s style, and the movie references, so I really enjoyed colouring this.

My colours for the milestone #275 issue of Sonic the Comic Online! The whole issue was a collaborative effort of the whole STCO team, plus some special guest artists!

Pages 1 and 2b line art were by @arklande and the rest of these pages were by @pandastearoom . Page 1 has a buncha readers’ characters on it, if you wanna tag yourself please feel free! :) The final version of 2b had a large panel up top by @alkalineazel and our dear absent friend, Matt Dittmer. (Miss you, buddy. :() Page 30′s final version also had some veeeeeery pretty extra effects on “Hyper” Sonic by @thekkm . We rule! *high fives all around*

This one was a big‘un for me as well, not just cause it was #275 but also was the first main strip I’ve coloured and that I did em all in under a week(!) I’m not usually that fast, I tend to painstakingly detail stuff and go over everything more than once. Sometimes I delete whole layers and start again haha... but with the STC 25 party, this was a fixed deadline and it needed finishing in time! Phew. Go, me! :D

The separate character colours for Sonic the Comic Online #273’s cover and wallpaper, by @arklande / @adamisart. I’m not sure if the intention is to set these against the same background separately for postcards and the like. I think on their own they could look rather nifty!

My colours for The Sting in the latest issue of Sonic the Comic - http://www.stconline.co.uk/comics/stc272/# with line art by @adamisart . I really pushed myself with this one, especially the last few pages. Hope it shows. And yes, I followed suit with Adamis’ fellow nerdy references, although the flower salesman’s colours might be me taking a few liberties! :P

Tails and Amy, especially the STC versions, are my fave Sonic characters so this was super fun to do. For the mysterious Don Long Legs - who apparently is a crane fly, not a spider as I’d long suspected - I did a bit of Googling for their colour schemes and coloured him in brown and beige blotches. He seems kinda nice for an organised crime boss! XD This last twist in The Family’s tale reminds me of stories I’d heard about the Yakuza helping people after the huge tsunamis in 2011.

…and to go with the The Sting strip, I coloured a wallpaper by @pandastearoom. Tails Doll has some buddies!

I managed to colour it all and do all the shading bits with a quick turnaround ready for this Wednesday’s launch, which is quite new for me!

So here are my colours for the latest issue Sonic the Comic - Online. I did pages 2-5 of the story Wreckage. Tekno and Shorty reunite, and it’s not exactly under great circumstances!! It took me a while but I tried a few newish things (well, not new by now but at the time they were!) to try and match the style of the first page, which had already been coloured by a different artist. I’m not sure if past page two it still resembles page one, as I was also trying to clearly separate planes and stuff, too. I may have gone OTT on some panels. IIRC page one is still very bright and has sharp contrasts between background and foreground.

However, I’m super pleased with page two, mostly cause it’s by @shira-hedgie and I love her work. This is the second page of her line art I’ve coloured; the other was a test page Shira herself put out for colourists to play with (thank you for that - I was super pleased with how that one turned out too!). And I like how the final page by @ziggyfin turned out cause of the emotional Tekno panel and that badass final panel. I took a few liberties with the colours of the lines (sorry!) and tried to make it look a bit er... zoomy....

Finally, I did try and pop this into CMYK just to see what it looked like (for STCO I normally don’t bother because it’s entirely online) and it turned out a bit... bright for my liking. So for the next one I coloured, I changed how I approached the whole thing. I hope by the time it’s put online, it’ll show...

In the latest Save the Light video there’s a few bits of new stuff in there, and ofc I spotted Ronnie’s Weird merch table in the background and squealed a little. I’m super happy that he’s gonna be in the game, along with all the other Beach City residents - and it looks like he might give Steven items instead or as well as the statues from Attack the Light?
