Who?
I have no idea who Night Thrasher is, and the art for this card does him absolutely no favors, either. It looks like Night Thrasher was briefly described to the artist and they did their painting with no other references. This is the opposite of the luscious colors and hyper-realism that often characterizes the Marvel Masterpieces cards.   Even the depiction on the back of the card is cooler, with Night Thrasher flexing above a dazed Thor.
Not sure why you need this guy on the streets when you have Daredevil, no matter how cool his “high-tech skateboard” is. But I guess there’s enough crime for everyone. Like, literally anyone with body armor and a skateboard.

If you think I can't find you, you got another thing coming... Bub.
I saw this Hugh Jackman audition tape, so it seemed a good time to post my favorite Marvel hero.
Young, nerdy me was fascinated by the power and explosiveness of the character, but his mysterious and tragic backstory was even more striking. Being used as a violent tool, suffering from memory loss, and being subjected to extensive surgery against one’s will would make anyone a little rough around the edges. Despite all of this, he is essentially good and has a strict code of honor.
I always wondered how awful it must be to not know where you came from and to barely be in control of yourself. But even as a loner, he needed the X-Men and they needed him.
On another note, tell me you don’t hear the animated series X-Men theme when you look at his card art!

Everything’s bigger on Titan
I’ve never thought of Thanos as intimidating or scary, and that’s entirely due to this card. It deftly combines both an upskirt shot and a ribbed codpiece (not a sentence I ever thought I would write). This accomplishment is matched by the artists’ enthusiasm, which confirms that this was a conscious choice.
In their defense, though, this is probably close to what you’d see if a mad Titan was about to crush you with his fist.

What’s cooler than being cool?...
... Is it sharing your code name with Val Kilmer’s character in Top Gun? Or being described as ‘feisty’? I like the candid feel to this portrait, as if he leaned into the frame at the last second to give you a lil’ dash o’ ice spikes. At first I thought it looked like he’s having too much fun, but on further consideration I kinda appreciate that he doesn’t take himself too seriously.
Side note: 10-year-old me loved the ‘wireframe’ on the back of the card. So high tech!

BRB...  lifting Mjolnir. NBD
This guy looks awesome. I love his menacing - even demonic - appearance, which is evidently not what it seems. He’s clearly worthy of Odin’s respect - a cybernetic equine-beast-man with a pure heart. As an added bonus, his name sounds like it belongs to a galactic NASCAR driver, which is kind of perfect since he pilots a sentient starship.

In which the Invisible Woman is not, in fact, invisible.
If the card art is any indication, the extent of Sue’s power is to project ambiguous, flat orbs from her forehead, with nary a forcefield or transparent limb to be found. On the other hand, maybe her powers aren’t what defines her - even if the ‘lioness’ quip is a bit on the nose.

My god, it’s full of stars!
The living embodiment of all things, and it chooses a human shape? With access to that much material, you’d think there’d be a little more creativity involved. You can’t really beat ‘Eternity’ for a moniker, though. Just like the spangly outfit, it really captures the all-of-it-ness of the character.

Captain ‘Murica
The artist really upped the ante with the enormous bald eagle head superimposed on the stars and stripes. The only way this could be more American is if Captain America and Enormous Eagle Head were to play catch with an apple pie cooling on the windowsill, although punching Hitler is definitely up there.

In which the Kingpin is literally falling.
This card is pure victory. What is the Kingpin without his empire? And if you’re going to dismantle your local crime lord’s life, doing it systematically is the way to go for some sweet, revenge-y justice.
I had to start with this one since I’m a fan of the recent Daredevil series on Netflix. I also just finished The Man Without Fear - otherwise known as the definitive Daredevil origin story - that was printed just after the run indicated on the back of this card.
