I'm half-way through my second draft right now. Rewriting everything has given me better story-telling powers, and reading books I've never picked up as a kid has helped me become a better writer.

I only hope that I'll be able to express myself in the best way possible. I am excited to share this story with others. But first I just have to write. Hopefully, by my 3rd draft everything is polished.

Sacred Echoes - v1.0 Release

For the past 4 or so years, I have been developing a GBA demake of Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia, and the time has finally come where it is in a finished enough state to release. It has been a long journey and I am incredibly grateful for all the help and support I have received along the way.

The setting and characters of Valentia have always meant a lot to me, even since the NES era, while the GBA Fire Emblem games were what inspired me to pursue pixel art and served to inspire much of my writing career. It was SoV which reignited what was once such an important part of my life; this project is a love letter to both of these inspirations. It aims to blend the best of both SoV and GBAFE and address some of the (very few) misses and wishlist items I and many others had for a Valentia remake. This game features a complete support room and additional writing for nearly every character, as well as retooled maps to bring more depth to the gameplay.

At this point, I feel that there is no way I feel guilty for calling a day off during my probation. Especially for a job that neglects their workers and encourages laziness.

Yesterday, I was asked to deliver the last orders to patients in the hospital. It was no big deal, it was in my job description, and I clocked out 30 minutes later. The cart wasn't exceptionally full either.

What was pretty upsetting to me was when I was delivering the cart and one of my coworkers found me absolutely furious. She told me I wasn't supposed to deliver the food and that our manager was asked to do it. So he effectively waited - leaving the food out to cool by the second - for someone else to do it.

If you only knew how understaffed and inefficient this cafeteria is then you'd understand that his attitude reflects the entire environment, and I am no longer seeking to work as hard as anyone else.

Especially to coworkers who go around hiding during the last 30 minutes so they'd avoid the last orders. Lol. This place is insane.
