the non-fiction reading challenge
hi and happy new year! here’s to a 2022 filled with good books and as few current events as possible :) please :) i’m tired :) this non-fiction reading challenge will hopefully encourage you to maybe step out of your comfort zone (or not, if you’re an avid non-fiction reader). if you aren’t interested in non-fiction, check our winter or summer reading challenges instead!

→ for each of the prompts, read a book/essay of your choice and cross the prompt out on the above template OR add the book/essay to the template below the cut
→ the prompts with an asterisk are bonus points — you don’t have to fill them to successfully finish the challenge
→ post updates in the form of text posts, bookish photos, or anything else you come up with under the tag #studyblr w/knives reading challenge!
→ this challenge is not time-restricted, but feel free to make it a year-long challenge as we conveniently chose 12 prompts
! remember to hide any spoilers under the cut when posting updates/reviews, so people can avoid them if needed :)

Guess what! another reading challenge by yours truly, shocker, i know ...
i've gotten back into reading actual books in 2021, so i definitely want to continue it through this year; i decided to make this genre reading challenge to motivate myself to read a variety of different books this year and i'm of course sharing it with you :)
CHALLENGE RULES ❀ one book per prompt, meaning the challenge calls for 16 books in total ❀ it is a 2022 challenge, so it's gonna run january 1st - december 31st ❀ reblog this post to participate ❀ once you read a book, cross the prompt out on the above template, or add the book title and/or cover to the alternative template below :) and post your update! ❀ tag your updates (templates with crossed out prompts, text posts, etc.) with the tag #2022 genre bingo so i can see and reblog them
that's it, if you have any questions at all, of course send them my way, otherwise i hope this year treats u gently and brings u lots of fun reads!

On your TBR for over a year : Furthemore - Tahereh Mafi 3/5
i got this book when it came out in French in 2016 and it's been sitting on my bookshelf since. Tahereh Mafi was my favorite author when i was in middle school and i remember begging my parents to buy it for my 16th birthday. And i finished it the day i turned 21 !
i feel like i would have loved this book a lot more if i had read it when i bought it. it really is a children book and sometimes i just couldn't understand the characters reactions and i had to keep telling me that they were only 12 years old. The universe was also really confusing and didn't mix well with my fever, i had to read some chapters multiple times to understand them.
but i still liked it a lot! i read most of it while i had covid, it brought me so so much comfort. it helped me understand some part of whichwood that I didn't get because 16yo me decided to read whichwood before furthermore ??? i really want to read whichwood again now! I remember loving it when i read it!

i wish I had a library buddy, a like-minded person who would browse the library shelves with me and look for the best book treasures the library has to offer and we would always stay until closing time and then talk about our book haul in the café next door

01/12/2021
So.... i still have covid and haven't come out of my room in more than a week and i'm not getting better so i think i might actually start crying. Thankfully i got 20/20 on my analysis midterm and the teacher said that she has rarely had a copy that well written so it motivated me to work a little. I honestly just want to go back on campus and see my friends and my teachers. This semester has been the best since i started college and there are only 3 weeks left and i can't believe i have to spend them on lockdown because i got sick :((
1st December - Do you like winter?
No, sometimes i wish i was a god so that i could make this season disappear. there are many things i can understand but liking winter is not one of them. it's cold and rainy and windy and it gets dark at 5pm and i spend my entire days inside and don't see the sun for 3 months and i just hate it. it doesn't even snow where i live but even if it did snow i wouldn't be able to play in the snow bc i have classes all day

Here is my brand new challenge! So many people have asked if I would be doing it again this year and I really hope you will all enjoy doing it! I’m so excited to get to know you all through the posts and celebrate winter with you!
❄️ Info ❄️
If you do the challenge, use the tag #winter studying challenge so I (and others) can see your posts. I will try to reblog as many posts in the tag as possible.
This challenge will run for 6 weeks - from the 1st December to the 14th January
There are daily prompts for every day of the challenge
But, as always, I don’t expect everyone to be able to post every day so you can always do catch-up posts!
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask!
❄️ Rules ❄️
If you want to do the challenge, please reblog this post
If you do it on any other social media platform (ie. Instagram), please give credit (my instagram | my tiktok | my pinterest)
The challenge will officially start on the 1st December, but if you come across this later, you can definitely start anytime during these six weeks!
DISCLAIMER: Quite a few of the prompts in December are to do with Christmas because that is what I celebrate at this time of year. I was very aware of that when I was writing the prompts but I did not think that I knew enough about other festivals and holidays at this time to write prompts about them. I did not want any prompts I made to be disrespectful. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, please know that this challenge is still for you! You can either just use the prompts anyway (if they are applicable) or adapt them to fit the festival or holiday that you celebrate. If it is impossible to adapt, then simply tell me about what you celebrate during winter because I am excited to learn about them!
