Hello beautiful people! I just wanted to follow up on this post for anyone who might have been wondering how my thesis turned out. Well, it went super good!! And defending it also went really good! I ended up getting the second highest grade on our grading system!! So I was very satisfied.

But I just wanted to say thank you to every single person who took time out of their day to answer my survey, not only was it extremely moving to read all the amazing answers I got from such a big variety of diverse people, but it was also wildly inspiring and encouraging for me throughout the writing process, especially since it confirmed that my topic was and is extremely relevant. So thank you!

Hello! As I have mentioned before, I am writing my thesis on X-Men comics, and a big part of what I focus on, is how representation in media, in this case more specifically comics, but mainly just the general media, matters to people of a minority group. To elaborate, how seeing yourself portrayed in a positive way in those kind of medias, effects the individual.

So, in that regard, I am looking for people from different minority groups, who would be willing to answer and fill out a very simple array of questions about this subject.

I can’t promise that I’ll include every answer in my thesis, but it would sure help me a lot if a couple of people would take the time to answer!

I won’t need you full name or age if your not comfortable with that. And if there are questions you don’t feel comfortable answering, then that is totally fine as well and you can easily just skip them.

If you, for example don’t agree that representation matters, don’t let that discourage you from answering, as I’m willing to accept everyone’s perspective. But my main focus is, as before mentioned, why representation matters for us.

I myself, am a queer man, but my opinions and perspective is not enough evidence alone.

So if you yourself want to answer or know someone else who could be interested, please share it with them, and I thank you in advance for your help!

Neil Gaiman has literally said he intends to reconcile them in season three providing Amazon signs the show for a third season. Maybe do some research before you lash out and whine. Its called storytelling.

🤣Lash out and whine??? The only post I’ve made about season two was me saying “good omens season two was xmen first class all over again” 😂 but no, I see the whining , I’m clearly lashing out.

What about that was lashing out and whining? I’m legit just stating that it was the exact same kind of ending as xmen first class, which is one of my favorite movies??

In xmen first class, they build up this amazing budding relationship, then one hurts the other and then it just ends with them going each their own way on horrible terms before the romance could flourish, which has NOTHING to do with the fact that there’s a WORLD of possibility’s for that relationship to return and work out in a next season/next movie.

Normally I don’t respond to shit like this, but people’s continued need for conflicts will never fail to baffle me.

So I feel like it’s discussed a lot in the very first xmen comics, but from that point on, as you point out, it seems to be left in the older comics, and not mentioned much after.

i think it’s interesting how it’s been touched on that max’s powers take a toll on him but it’s not brought up very much

Well. In the first run of xmen, ever, it is basically almost the entire reason he spirals into terrorism and becomes the Magneto we know today. After his past with Charles, Max actually continued to be a good guy for quite a while! But as described in the comics, the overexertion of his power slowly took a toll on his mental well being, and it’s said that he became “manic” from over use of his power, which slowly made him “insane” which led to his acts of terrorism and other violent acts. So yes In ways, his powers drain him, but that concept really stems from the very beginning, where his powers were the entire reason he became Evil Magneto, as it worsens his mental state.

One of, in my opinion, most hilarious comic facts about Charles and Erik, is that Canonically, Erik can dance the tango to a championship level, and him and Charles used to dance tango. And Charles claims he used to be a good dancer too, back in the day, but admits he lost his touch for it, but not his love for it lmfao.
