The energy in the room was palpable. A symphony of laughter and cheers filled the building creating a masterfully orchestrated melody. The two puppeteers had crafted an atmosphere from the finest of herbal teas, meads, to the freshest of meats. Hats off to the two gentleman who hosted the evening.

There was a time in Beyond's youth where he found himself to be the life of party. Larger than life and I don't mean in just physical stature. Back when his spirit was free and his beard kept. No passed were the days. Now the ole roegadyn found enjoyment holding up the wall and watching others give care to the wind. During the first hour or so Myles nursed his tea while his fairy companion attempted to get him to be more social. Like a downed tree, he wasn't budging.

Before long a familiar face accompanied him and she had brought a friend along. Lady Fayeth and Lady Julianne. Quickly corrected by the both of them that they were no ladies, he remained stead fast in his conviction. Introductions were given. Recaps on current event in everyone's life were laid to bare on the table like a round of triple triad. Throughout the evening it would seem a mage of great potential had transposed and caused an Astral fire to flare between the two elezen women. It was subtle but nonetheless prevalent like the flame that lit a room in the waning evening.

A wise drunkard once said, "at the end of the day, the day has to end." And like that the three found themselves shuffling out along with a few other tavern patrons. Best wishes were given. Hugs were exchanged. And another page was written in the life of Myles Beyond.

Seeing Maxi in the CC concerned me some, but when put into proper lighting with shadows and such, I feel a lot better. May do some minor tweaking here and there, but looks good here. Shoutout to the one tweet explaining on how to import character data files so I could have her bought hair in the benchmark. And I wasn't expecting to like the Viper AF on her THAT much, I may be leveling it sooner than planned.

Also am very glad that new PC built specifically to run DT at max settings handled it like it was nothing. We so ready

With Maxi, it's pretty straightforward, but not any less horrifying.

In the Pre-ARR times, Maxi was caught, tortured, and abused within an inch of her life for a week because some sick fuck just wanted to see how well his torture tools worked. She owes her life to Jacke and the Rogue's guild for saving her (which is why maxi proudly works for them). And the years of trauma and ptsd she's experienced since haven't helped.

Her second mistake, and much more grave to her, was letting that fucker walk away without confirming herself he was dead. He reappeared years later, in the worst way. The poison he experimented with on her was used to kill her grandmother.

Maxi lost it. Gave into her rage and darkness. That's when the DRK crystal appeared. When Fray appeared. Her Dynamis made all of her innermost emotions real, and empowered her. And she went down a path of revenge. The bandit who shot her grandmother with the poison tipped arrow that killed her. The chemist who created the poison. The man who mad the bandit disappear. And then the bandit himself. All killed at her hand, with 0 mercy or regret.

I'll never write the details of what she did to them. Maxi will never IC discuss what she did. Each death will always be written as a fade to black, with barely anything given in detail, as well as what she left behind. The point is that one person led Maxi to do some very very horrible things, things that if she were to reflect on she'd fully accept as her lowest point and the worst things she's ever done. And that the only reason she was saved from herself was that a certain crystalline figure managed to yoink her across shards in an act of desperation.

Because I am a little hobgoblin and I love to read about peoples' OC's, I wanted to chuck out a random WoLQotD that I didn't want to use as a single ask for my drive: What, in your opinion, is the most horrific thing about your character's story? Is it who they are and how they treat the world? Is it where they came from; the wars, political divide, state of their family, etc. Is it the magic they wield/was it an event that defined them?

I love a little horror/angst in my worldbuilding, so I want to hear yours.

2. Maxi lost a bet to Julianne, which led to the latter getting to pick out Maxi's wardrobe for a Radz date. Which led to an evening of two very embarrassed Xaela as Maxi had to walk around in her "new" dress

I"m not finding a ton on her birth name of Altani, minus it being Mongolian in nature (makes sense, that's who the Xaela are modeled after). Could be "golden"?

As for her nickname she uses everywhere: The name Maxi is a girl's name of German origin meaning "greatest"

Yeah, that fits. Kinda.

Now for Julianne: the meaning of the name Julianne is: Downy grace. A compound of the names Julie and Anne. Also can be interpreted as the feminine form of Julian: Youthful. Jove's child.

Yeah that's a load of bs she is anything but grace
