More WIPs from that mystery fan project (though we do see a pretty recognizable character here, whatevs), the point is I wanted to upload these to note for posterity that the kid on the top left WAS going to get "Heel" as his surname because he got a foot cut off before his death. Because I have a terrible sense of humor.

But it had to be omitted for reasons. Sigh.

Or should I say.... it had to be CUT OUT bwahaha.

Me, trying to fall asleep last night:

Me: Yes they're going to be really difficult. Shut up. Insomnia brain: ...actually for pacing purposes-- Me: no Insomnia brain: Shouldn't they be Me: NO Insomnia brain: Merged into one giant monster page? The flow would be so much better, and you'd be a little less obsessively afraid of your readers getting bored. Me: Me: FINE 😓😢😭 Insomnia brain: I'm so glad we had this talk ☺️☺️☺️

So the main reason these look weird is because the character is becoming more and more active and interacting with the backgrounds, which is good. Not including the character yet because I want to focus on the backgrounds right now.

I think they're all on the right track except... the icicles on the shed and the water in the 1st one. They both are driving me NUTS.

But the rest is looking okay so far. This whole project is going to have a fairly limited color palette, and I loooooove it so far <3

First we had "snow panel" and then "city panel" (see the last post), and now the "garbage panel." That is the file's actual name. I feel like it says something about my life that I have an entire panel dedicated to literal garbage, but... let's not think about that.

Begging people to stop reblogging this AI trash from “The Phantom Painter” on Instagram (instagram.com/phantom.painting). I’ve been seeing it on my dash more and more often from people who are otherwise anti-AI and either can’t tell it’s AI or don’t care because it looks cool.

This is the kind of shit that is VERY CLEARLY trained on the works of existing talented artists’ with distinct styles and this asshole is selling prints and making a profit off of stealing other people’s hard work.

Don’t give people like this money or attention and they will go away.

Please, if you’re going to buy art prints, buy them from an actual artist.

Getting a lovely new cover from MIBLART in order to publish a paperback of The Clifford Spock Incident also involved getting these mockups from them -- but I don't (currently) have a hardback version, so I couldn't put these on my main website, since it could be seen as false advertising. So here we are!

Okay so for the last month or so, I’ve gotten 6 dm’s mostly from tumblr accusing me of using ai, asking for prompts for my style, etc. And a random 1 star review on my online store saying my prints are ai.

Guys.

If you do literally 10 seconds of research you’d get your answer.

I post process images/videos on the regular. I plop unfinished things on patreon and ko-fi on the regular. There’s like books and whatever else out there that I drew that’ve existed way before august 2022.

Heck I’m doing real physical paintings now with a partial reason being to show that a person is making these things.

I know these are just low effort drive-by’s but it’s starting to get annoying. Please just, idk, Google a persons name or scroll for like 5 more seconds and you’ll be able to figure it out.
