If you are a Christian that wants to host a Passover seder this year:

1) Don’t. It’s appropriative and gross.

2) Still don’t.

3) Jesus never participated in the type of seder that Jews have today. He lived (if he existed as described in your Christian holy books) during the Second Temple Era of Judaism, when worship was Temple-focused and ritual sacrifice was a key facet of the holiday. The modern seder takes most of its traditions from rabbinic Judaism, which was not the Judaism of Jesus.

4) Don’t do it. Don’t. No, there is no good reason for you to do it.

5) Given the Christian antisemitic violence traditionally inflicted on the Jews during this time of year (the lead up to Easter), it is EXTRA awful for Christians to try and appropriate our traditions related to Passover.

6) Don’t. Pesach is our holiday, and our religion is a semi-closed practice. Don’t appropriate our stuff. Don’t make our stuff about Jesus.

7) There are no exceptions to the rule that Christians should not host Passover seders.

21. obsession from childhood?

as a general obsession, I know its cliche but definitely harry potter lmao. I still love to re-read the books over and over and watch the movies. even more general is probably just like... books? I love books lol 

as a niche obsession from when I was a kid, I always collect scraps of paper or magazines, and I clip out cute pictures of things I love. I save them all for when I want to do something with my hands and I make collages lol. that sounds lame but it’s the only thing I can think of? I've been doing it for awhile but I don't know if its from childhood.

oh, also - shrek 2 and the cat in the hat movie with mike myers. actually they both have mike myers, which might say a lot about my sense of humor. specifically, the opening song from the cat in the hat movie is literally my fave thing ever, and since I was kid, I would put on the movie and just play the beginning song and opening narration on repeat. I know both movies off by heart, verbatim.

58. four talents you’re proud of having?

lord, I am a Talentless person but I'll attempt to toot my horn lmao.

- I think I'm a pretty decent writer, I do genuinely love to write and I think that if I actually forced myself to buckle down and write consistently, I would have more to work with lol. im a lazy piece of shit and I also do not have the ability to Complete A Task.

- I do think I'm a pretty good singer. unfortunately, I lack in the department of voice control, but I have a pretty voice? I also write songs, and I think they’re pretty good but of course I'd never show them to anyone so I'll never know if they actually are lol. 

- I don't know if this counts as talent but I'm hard of hearing and I can lip-read very well. it’s not something I like.... brag about, considering I need to lip-read in order to understand what a person says, but I can read lips from afar and its a pretty useful skill at times. I don't know if it counts as a talent since it’s something I legitimately needed to do in order to... like... exist in the social world but yeah.

- baking! and also cooking, but I pride myself in being a pretty good baker actually. I come from a very food-oriented culture and religion, so I learn everything from my parents and grandparents, particularly my grandmother. I know how to cook and bake most of the traditional jewish and sephardic foods, and also just general stuff. I also worked with a challah baker for awhile, so I can bake challah really well. my specialty is challah and choc chip cookies :)

I don't know for sure, but I think at least eight? one of them is my ex-boyfriends that for some reason, has decided to carve a place in my brain. so that’s good lmao.

seeing as I am very Gay, I sit like absolute shit but my fave position to sit in is either backwards in a chair so that I can hug the back of the chair to stimulate human contact OR, if the chair has arms (like the one in my room, where I always sit) I love to sit with my legs thrown over the arms of the chair and my back against my pillow in the corner. OR, if I'm craving Back Issues, with my knees to my chest lol

I dont listen to too many podcasts or talk radios because it’s hard for me to understand just audio because of my hearing loss, but that being said, I still listen to a few:

- tmg podcast with cody ko and noel miller

- jenna and julien podast with jenna marbles and julien solomita

- science vs by gimlet (they have some interesting stuff, haven't listened in awhile but v good)

- the TEDTalks podcasts are an option but I watch the actual talks on youtube and theyre so good!

there are also a ton of neuroscience episodes available on iTunes on multiple different podcasts that unfortunately, I can’t get access to because my history is lost?? but basically I listened to a ton of science podcasts to pass the time when I was working last summer and since im studying neuroscience, I looked for podcasts that focused on neuroscience and there were a ton! anyways yeah that’s it.

Is it rude if I ask what is "chag pesach sameach"? I just don't know and I'm really curious.

not at all! chag, or חג in Hebrew, means holiday. Pesach, פסח in Hebrew, is Passover, the Jewish holiday that comes around this time of year. sameach, or שמח in Hebrew, means happy! I am basically wishing my fellow jewish followers a happy passover holiday!

in short, passover is one of the major jewish holidays throughout the year. it celebrates and commemorates how the jewish people were slaves in Egypt and how we were freed by G-d. we celebrate the holiday over the course of eight days, and there are so many beautiful customs and traditions that are practiced. 

unfortunately, because of covid-19, one of the main customs, the seder - a special dinner where we retell the story of exodus and eat/drink symbolic foods and a LOT of matzah - is often done with extended family and friends, and therefore a lot of people are not with the people they’d normally celebrate with. I, for example, normally celebrate with my grandparents and sometimes with more extended family, but my grandfather passed away two weeks ago, and we’re not allowed to see my grandmother, so we did the seder dinner just me and my parents and my two brothers.

Steve deserved better for the finale than this scene born from a showrunner's obsession with his favorite actress

I don’t like her character, I never made it a secret. But I’m puzzled about people analysis about her. Where and when, is it “played” that she was the only one to understand the motivations of Steve? … Her father was killed by Wo Fat who searches for her mother agent CIA who pretended his death during 20 years ?…. I don’t think so! She understands her job as Navy SEAL & his dedication to his work but it stops there, like Junior despite what he says in the S8…Nobody knows Steve better than the one who lives him, every day for 10 years ie Danny Williams. Each person reacts differently to trauma & the hard knocks of life. She can see his concerns and can imagine these pains, but she doesn’t know exactly how he feels. She knows pratically nothing about how his life, she never really “lived” Steve out of the work. Because from what we know, during all these years, they have been dating, between two missions, without really being together and breaking their frequentation regularly, Billy is one of the proofs of that. The only “real” fact here, is that she got her final scene, only because she’s Lenkov’s ship and his favorite actress, but that doesn’t mean that the EP made the right choice. He should have, IMHO, avoided destroying the character over the years to start and continue to write her correctly to end.

In this way he only showed the little respect he had for the fans and his two main actors who led and directed the success of the show.
