The reason I love aftg so much is the characters. Let me explain: each of these characters has suffered in their lives. As a result, they’ve come out different. Some are bitter, angry, and unhappy. Others are sad, afraid, and unsure about how to deal with the idea of a future. Some are trying to heal by being as bright and positive as possible. Others become more defensive or accepting or quiet or loud. There’s a bunch of characters, each from a path of life so different and so harsh and cruel that you could never imagine them clicking. Yet somehow-each with their own coping mechanisms- they make it work! They learn to become gentler, prouder, brighter, happier. They learn to work together and create a loving, warm, supportive family for themselves. These are characters who were all told they’d fail. They were looked down on, considered volatile and unprofessional, but they built themselves up to the best versions of themselves anyway. They went through trauma and became stronger for it. They suffered together and bonded because of it, leading to them being successful in ways they’d never imagined. Their story is -though heartbreaking, sometimes- full of hope and love and intense emotion, making it impossible for readers not to relate to all the flaws these characters have. These characters show the world how hard, yet how possible it can be to heal your wounds.

i live for hcs where kevin stays friends with andrew and neil in the future. listen.... he loves them and even eventually joins the same team as them. he goes to neil for comfort and andrew for advice (not very good advice, but at least he gets something). King and Sir love him a lot and greet him at the door. he cuddles them a lot when he’s feeling a lil panicky. they go to dinners together sometimes and when kevin’s drunk or having a bad night he sleeps on their couch. 

kill hcs where andrew drops kevin after college because he finds him annoying. destroy hcs where neil tells andrew he’s sick of kevin or wants him to stop speaking. i need some better fucking content.
