This whole scene with Allen talking to Nolan in the prison was so good on its own merit, finally getting to hear how Nolan himself had internalized everything he did back on earth during the S1 finale had not only affected him, but his son as well, and he feels absolutely TERRIBLE about it.
But that last bit of dialogue he says right before the screen cuts to black caught me so off guard, left me speechless for a moment.....
The way JK Simmons delivers the line, it's a line of honesty but of total surprise as well. The way his voice softly quivers and trails off as he starts to realize this, like he wasn't expecting to feel this way, after everything he had said about her and how painful was for Debbie to even hear those words.
After all of that, he still misses her.
Way to go, JK. You are a GOAT for voice work like this.
Hello fellow disabled people of tumblr. I know that 2010s-2020s culture has turned against the notion of asking to speak to a manager. I know that “can I speak to a manager” is the mark of the beast.
And yet. If someone at the front desk is telling you they can’t unlock the elevator. If you get a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot when you have the dmv card. If the door to the big stall won’t close and you’re telling the front desk about it for the third time in as many weeks. If the bus driver won’t give you time to put on your breaks and secure your wheelchair
Ask to speak to their supervisor. Mention he ADA. Drop a reference to “my lawyer.” Make a nuisance of yourself. You have to get used to taking up more space, and that doesn’t just mean physical space. You have rights. You deserve access. You don’t have to just take it to be polite.
Y'know, the funny thing about all this "RETVRN TO THE 1950S" shit is that it's all "THIS IS WHAT THEY TOOK FROM YOU" when nothing in the pictures was actually taken away.
You can dress like a '50s guy and style your hair with Brylcreem if you really want. There's no law against that. You can raise a family in suburbia and cook hotdogs in the backyard. In fact, you've been able to do that for so long that it's kinda ruined the country by blighting the land with terrible housing developments and infrastructure. It would be hard to argue that any other lifestyle in the US has been more catered to and facilitated than the suburban nuclear family.
I have worked two weekend kids dance competitions in a row now and I am so done. I have opinions and feelings about that fucking Dua Lipa song from the Barbie movie that I am holding back from saying.
its always "oh god! oh god what the fuck!" and "What is wrong with you??!?!!? WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!" and never "thanks for bringing me back from the dead and also giving me cool insect wings and mandibles, did you have fun digging up my corpse?'
