This fandom will never be satisfied with the fate of Reyna Avila-Ramirez Arellano.

I finished Tyrant’s Tomb today.

And then I scrolled through tumblr.

And I heaved a sigh of exasperation because this fandom appears to be so dead-set on Reyna being lesbian that her being ANYTHING ELSE is unacceptable.

First it was the weirdly visceral horror that she’d get with Apollo, and when she joins the Hunts the fandom still mildly flips out.

…Why? And why are you all treating it like that choice invalidates her feelings?

Being a Hunter doesn’t mean she magically became asexual or aromantic or both, though I would be down for aro/ace Reyna. We have seen in The Dark Prophecy that being a Hunter is a REVERSIBLE decision if you happen to fall in love. Reyna isn’t stuck being an immortal Hunter forever. As long as she is honest with Artemis, she can leave whenever she wants and love someone.

In her own words: WHEN SHE IS READY.

She is not right now. She needs to heal her own heart. It’s not weird or offensive for a girl to realize that she doesn’t need a romantic partner to “fix her”.

Also she’s been praetor for years. Let the girl enjoy extended retirement, my gods.

Freddy Carter being 26 has made me very apprehensive... it’s not even the appearance, it’s the countenance. Leigh writes the very fine line of Kaz being a shitty 17 year old who’s constantly out of his depth and simultaneously a criminal mastermind beautifully, but I think the young, more relatable side of him might disappear with such an older actor. Even if they make him look younger he might have lines that sound like a 26 year old in a 17 year olds body, which will probably be in character half the time, but the other half he’s a teenager with a crush or a little boy who lost his brother... if they remove that part they’ll be removing what separates Kaz from every other brooding emo mastermind character that’s ever existed.

I want to make clear these are just my worries about the shows direction, I know nothing about the actor and have no opinions on his character or performance because I haven’t seen any of his work
