I really really hate taking classes. Why must I bs my way through even more credits on top of my masters degree just to get a pay bump?

#i know it will be worth it but god it doesn’t feel worth it #just pay me my worth??? I’m not learning anything from any of this #I truly believe there’s only so much you can learn about teaching from taking classes #a lot of it you just need to pick up as you struggle through the job #I promise almost none of this is even relevant to my class just give me the money thanks #my life as a seventh year teacher

This morning I was 75% through the first book in a trilogy and I just knew shit was about to hit the fan, because otherwise why would it be a trilogy? But man, I just finished it and I have had my socks knocked right off.

#I thought I’d called the twists and knew were things were going and yeah I called some of it #but boy oh boy things did not play out the way I thought they would #and no I’m not telling you what I’m reading because it’s another of my silly fantasy romance books but it hits hard wtf #Sarah enjoys escapism

Here I am worrying my car is a little too close to the fire hydrant behind me when my assistant principal comes and parks directly blocking it. At least I know she’s getting a ticket before I do.

#I considered the bathroom stall but that would only work if I have a current hyperfixation and I think about to pass the time #and then I remembered I’m literally an elementary school teacher #so babysit is probably the obvious answer? 5 kids is an amazing number compared to my regular life #and I could just play with them not try to force them to learn things none of us are interested in

Admin need to stop telling me that rubrics will help my students understand what is expected of them on an activity. Unless you want to give me extra prep time to create visual rubrics then you are just parroting bullshit that does not apply to my class. We created the overall design goals for the project and individual checklist together, and I have a clear model for them to refer to. A formal rubric is not going to do anything for my population of students and honestly, I’m not going out of my way to create them when I’m teaching 7 new curriculums and dealing with children biting and throwing things and flipping my furniture. Sorry, but I refuse to keep creating things that serve no function but to look good for administrators who have never taught what I teach.

My day started off rough, got worse, and then I got observed. During said observation my brightest kid was asked what the end goal of our project was and he said “I don’t know”. I love that for me.

#of course she didn’t see them work as a class to come up with the checklist for the project #she just saw them working individually on their components #and she walked in as I was celebrating that I would be able to finally print my w2 at the literal last minute ugh #oh well it’s done I’m good until September #my life as a seventh year teacher

I’ve been playing Stardew a lot since the update and I just completed the Community Center on Winter 4, Year 1 WITHOUT checking the option to guarantee it being possible. I’m a little shocked tbh. Just call me a progamer I guess.
