I sent my Ph.D research proposals to two more potential supervisors. The first person I contacted never got back to me so I sent her a follow up e-mail.
I'm even more nervous than I was before 😭 If no one responds, is it even worth applying if I have no one advocating for me and my research?
I just wish these schools had more information about the Ph.D process. I'm like relying on one person to help me but he can only do so much 😶

So I've been burnt out on reading (it sucks but it happens) and I hadn't read anything since early March. I bought Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer in March and I just let it sit on my nightstand.
I decided to finally crack it open since the plot sounded intriguing...
Oh my God.
This book y'all.
I'm in shambles.
IT'S SO GOOD!
I'm over a 100 pages in and I love it. I love the characters. I love the world building. I love the political intrigue. The romance is going to be good, I can tell 😍
Anyway, I'm thankful this book got me excited about reading again and out of my dry spell.

What started out as a twist on Robin Hood turned into an action-packed, high-stakes adventure with brooding pirates, power-hungry consuls, and warring kingdoms that I could not put down. With each book in the series, I grew closer to Kemmerer’s characters and further immersed myself in the world they inhabited. All the tears I shed were worth it in the end and I look forward to reading Kemmerer’s next project.
