Final progress report:

Hello, another great week for Laos vintage! I have gathered 10 more pieces to re work and sell. I will he taking photos tomorrow and uploading them to my page to continue selling.

I will still be using Laos Vintage even after this course is done. I am really enjoying having my own small business. I look forward to what the future holds and how far I can take this.

Week Update

This week is a bit slower than others, I have been searching for new pieces but haven’t been having much luck this week! I have realized it is good to keep some merchandise as back up just in case I run into issues like this. This week I have dropped three new pieces, 1/3 is already sold!

I will be posting more pieces later on this week! The giveaway winner from last week is very happy about the items given. I will be uploading feedback and additional photos.

Progress Report

This week has been great! I have officially announced my give away winner! Now I am finishing up the giveaway basket so I can deliver it on Friday. Sales have been good this week I have made just over $100 so far.

I have struggled a little bit this week in finding more merchandise and items to re work for my page. Tomorrow my goal is to go out and keep looking.

Progress Report

This week is going well, I have made more sales and have gotten more merchandise to get prepared for sale. New photos and posts are almost every other day now.

I have received amazing feedback, and have gotten more people to sign up for the giveaway. The last day to enter is this Wednesday and the winner will he announced on Thursday this week!

I have gotten the items together for the giveaway and just need to work on its packaging.

Start up venture update:

This week I have released more products and have made 5 sales already! I have finalized my packaging plan and have successfully gotten all additional materials.

This week my “giveaway” has been launched and is currently still open to more entries.

My goal this week is to go out and find more clothes to re design and sell as I need more content! That being said I’m excited for the big search/hunt! I am looking forward to finding new pieces.

Start up venture UPDATE!

I have officially started my business up and everything is starting to come together one step at a time. I have my Instagram page fully set up and running. I have realized that Instagram is working the best for my business over any other.

I did end up making a website for my business but quickly realized that there is no use for it at this moment. It is hard to grow your name through a website.

I feel very calm and confident that I will be successful as I already have amazing feedback from customers and support. I look forward to what the future holds for me and my business.

Throughout this process I have learned that I do have what it takes to do this and I have the power to make this business develop further. I learned to believe more in myself and always give 110% no matter what gets thrown at me. Running a business is a lot of work but it feels good knowing I can do this all by myself.

What is working? 

I have quickly realized that marketing and selling mainly through Instagram has been very successful. It is reaching the exact audience i was looking for. 

What is not working? 

Something that i have realized that isn't working would be the website i made. Not a lot of feedback and interaction on the page. I have realized that my business doesn't need a website or really have a use for it. The social media platform Instagram is working way better than expected. 

How do you feel the project is coming? 

To be honest, i was fairly nervous about starting my business but now that i have i feel really good about it. I have already grown my audience quite a bit and have starting selling my products. i am beyond excited to see where ill be at, at the end of the next 7 weeks. I look forward to growing my business even more and seeing what i am capable of. 

What are you learning about running a business and what are you learning about yourself? 

I have learned that in order to run a business you have to be very organized and on top of things. You need to constantly be prepared for accidents or changes. You never really know what can happen at any point that may or may not set you off track for a while. I would say that i’m learning a lot more about myself as i am more confident in what i’m doing and look forward to what the future holds. Hard work will pay off in the end.

Financial Statement

For Laos Vintage’s financial sources my plan is to create and open a separate bank account solely for my business. That way there i am able to keep a close eye on all they money that will be coming in and out. The $50 start up money has already benefited me as i have made sales back to cover the $50 and more. My goal is to keep moving forward and to have this extra bank account in case i ever needed to take a loan or more money out in the future.

Strengths

Setting Goals: I believe when it comes to setting goals I am very successful. As I am given tasks or new challenges I tend to find myself very motivated to make a schedule and follow through. To me setting goals is very important because it allows you to constantly see progress and stay on track of everything. Also, it is a very rewarding feeling crossing off things you have completed. Setting goals ensures your success in the future!

Leadership: When it comes down to leadership I believe I am very strong in this area. I enjoy managing people and assigning differant tasks and or roles. I do not mind stepping up and sort of “paving” the path to mine and everyone else’s success. At the end of the day I went everyone including myself to have the best end result. I have been in a wide variety of situations where I had to manage an individual or group, rather it’s school or work based. I am a pretty level headed person and easy to get along with. This strength helps me understand majority of people when working as a team. It is important to know everyone’s strengths and weaknesses as well as differant personality traits and emotions.

Weaknesses

Financial & Budgets: When it comes to these two aspects in particular I tend to struggle from time to time. I am far from being a math super star! I have taken multiple math courses and accounting courses throughout highschool and my college career. I am not the worst but I am also not the best. Certain aspects in math do still confuse me, which means at times it can take me longer than others to understand. Math is something I am always trying to get better at. My end goal is to use this course to learn even more and keep up my math goals and expectations.
